I see what you mean foolkiller, traction control and ABS are either on or off in the game options. If you want to fine tune these you would have to do so in the car tuning like CAMARO says

You cannot "fine tune" TCS or ABS in any way shape or form. They are either on or off, and that's all you get. Bit of a shame really.

;)

That is not true. Look at what I said above and what LJ said. And these settings can be saved for each individual car but you HAVE to buy the best brakes.

I forgot to mention that you dont have to just play the career mode. You can also go to Event List and pick from any races you want to do. I think the blue indicates the races you can do with your current car. And green indicate races you can do with cars in your garage. Something like that. And you can pick any of them. It will take months to get through all the events.

Also what options are you looking for? There are TONS of options in Forza 3. Tons and tons of them. Its almost overwhelming how many options F3 has.

Yep, I found out about the events list, pretty cool. 👍 I'm driver level 19 already, I can't stop playing lol I think I'll go thru a bit faster than a couple of months, but yeah, I see what you mean there.
As for options, thats hard to remember right now and I have a feeling I just didn't find most of them yet.
Few examples what I mean:
  • save photos to harddrive
  • switch which ghost you want, old or new, or both
  • download ghosts from other players
  • custom colours for editor ?

Also some stuff I didn't quite find out yet is,
  • can your car get higher than level 5
  • can XP levels go higher than 50
  • and since I'm disconnected from Forza servers right now, will it still record my times and ghosts and upload them later ?

I hope these questions don't sound negative, it's just stuff I'm unsure as of yet...
I'm really lovin it so far, the sense of speed, the tuning, everything seems perfect... and hey, the Nürburg Ring has elevations, hanging corners and stuff that make it actually fun to drive?! Didn't see that in any other game before.

No, you don't. DR does though.

traction control and ABS are either on or off in the game options. If you want to fine tune these you would have to do so in the car tuning like CAMARO says, for brakes you can change the pressure and for traction what I do with TCS off on the more high powered cars is make changes to the differential and gears if there is too much power
In GT I can adjust brake balance after adding after-market brakes (unless it is Prologue or PSP, in which case it is just available in quick tune), just like I can in FM3. Same for differential and gearing. But when I adjust Traction control and anti-lock brakes I can also adjust their sensitivity between Off and settings of 1-10.

In GT games driving aids like Traction Control and anti-lock brakes have sensitivity adjustments separate from the performance tuning of the car.

Here is an image of the quick tune screen from Prologue. You can see brake balance and ABS are two separate settings and ABS is set at 1. Traction Control is also on there, but he has it off in this shot.

YES you can adjust the brake pressure but you have to do this in the "tuning setup" menu. Its the same menu that lets you adjust your gearing, your differential, downforce,,camber, ride height and everything else. Just go over to brakes and you will be able to adjust brake pressure, front or rear fade. Traction control can be adjusted using your diff settings, diff acc, and diff dec settings. Hope that helps but I think I know what you are saying how you cant actually adjust the sensitivity of the ABS or TCS. But there are ways around it.

Well, you still have the brake sensitivity in the tuning, the TCS is only On or Off tho, however as has been said I think you can make up for it by adjusting the differentials... which makes IMO even more sense than GT's 1-10 settings.

BTW could someone try answering me please? Those things are confusing me... :sly:

I will try to help as much as I can from work.

Few examples what I mean:
  • save photos to harddrive ----These are saved to the my profile page then later can be uploaded to your storefront
  • switch which ghost you want, old or new, or both --I think there is a way to change that but not sure how
  • download ghosts from other players--If you are on xboxlive you can save the ghosts from the top 100 players. There might be a way to save friends replays too
  • custom colours for editor ?---go to vinyl editor and I think hit x to change the color. Or click the vinyl then go to change color

Also some stuff I didn't quite find out yet is,
  • can your car get higher than level 5---5 is max per car
  • can XP levels go higher than 50---50 is max
  • and since I'm disconnected from Forza servers right now, will it still record my times and ghosts and upload them later ?---I dont think it will

Ah, ok cool, thanks! See, there might be many options, but not so easy to find them all. :P
So I can access my photos from dashboard? I still don't quite get it...

Ohh no you cant access them from your HD from the dashboard. But the photos are saved to the HD and you can access them in Forza 3. There might be a way to access the photos from your HD if you have the 360 hooked to the PC somehow. Or if you use the memory transfer kit.

But you can also access your photos to your PC if you go to http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/default.htm . Your recent pics will be online saved on that site. You will have to sign in to access your pics.

Here are mine. Not sure if it will work or not so you can see them. http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/game/gallery/search/default.htm?gamertag=camaroboy69

There are ways to tune out spinning tires or locking up brakes, but it is not adjusting your TCS or ABS. They are two different things and the way GT allows you to directly adjust the sensitivity of ABS or TCS allows you more flexibility on how you can adjust your car in these areas.

That said, Forza does have some settings that I wish GT had, like tire pressure and tire width. As I said before, I could mix a few things from both.

This was my greatest disappointment with FM3's UI. Same for Shift. I had been spoiled by GT4 exporting photomode to my USB drives and WipeOut HD saving screenshots directly to the PS3's hard drive. Same thing with videos. I have grown used to direct You Tube uploading in some games.

Ok yes I see what you are saying about the settings. But like I said, I have TCM and ABS off so I never even noticed it. lol

But one thing I miss for sure from GT is the ability to put our pics directly onto a flash drive. That was indeed a huge innovation for GT. You can get your pics from the forza site but the quality is no where near as good as the GT flash drive pics from GT4. That I agree with for sure. But Forza 3 has EVERYTHING else I want so its really a small complaint compared to everything else this game has.

Forza 3 is missing maybe 10% of the features I want from the GT series. But GT is missing about 90% of the features I love in Forza 3. But I dont want this to turn into Forza vs GT again. Both are great games and if you are a racing gamer you cant go wrong with either one.

Read what I wrote carefully....

Delphic Reason
You cannot "fine tune" TCS or ABS in any way shape or form. They are either on or off, and that's all you get. Bit of a shame really.

You are completely missing the point Foolkiller is trying to make.

Well, you still have the brake sensitivity in the tuning, the TCS is only On or Off tho, however as has been said I think you can make up for it by adjusting the differentials... which makes IMO even more sense than GT's 1-10 settings.

Absolutely not...

Adjusting a differential, and adjusting Traction Control/ABS are not going to end up with the same results, I'm afraid. No amount of diddling with a differential is going to have the same effect as fine tuning an ABS or electronic traction control system.

There are ways to tune out spinning tires or locking up brakes, but it is not adjusting your TCS or ABS. They are two different things and the way GT allows you to directly adjust the sensitivity of ABS or TCS allows you more flexibility on how you can adjust your car in these areas.

Exactly...

On another topic...

I'm still not satisfied at all with Forza's replay camera angles. It was one of my biggest complaints with Forza 2 (among many others). I was sure they were going to fix the problem with FM3. Yet, half the time the camera still focuses on the side of the car, the top of the car, 1" off the ground staring up at the front of the car, or in some cases up in the sky gradually panning down to a close up of the car.

I tossed GT4 into the Ol' PS3 last night and took an old rally car around the Nordschleife. I was immediately reminded of GT's far superior replay system. They seemingly put much more thought into the camera placement/panning/scope. Putting more effort into creating a clear view of what is happening on the track, whereas Turn 10 seem to still be focusing too much on creating a "cinematic" experience (which I'm not convinced they've succeeded at either).

One of many little things that are taking me out of the experience a bit.

I love the game, but it lacks a lot of polish.

;)

There are well over 100 camera angles. (most people dont know this) I am sure you can find one that you like. You have to hold one of the buttons to pull up all the camera angles. Dont just tap the button you have to hold it down. There is even a camera view that is zoomed right up on the tires and you can watch the tire deformation. Looks quite awesome.
I think this videos shows all of them but not sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODJ6GCWgHtc If you watch the lower right you will see a hidden option pop up above the camera. I think you have to hold the buton down o pop up the hidden menu. This shows all the extra replay angles and there are a lot!!

Ah, ok now I got it! Thanks for the link, I knew there's a way to upload, but not where to.. and yeah, they really should have made an option to save on usb stick or something.
What's my Windows- ID?? ... I hope I can find it! :scared:

I usually log into xbox.com first then it instantly signs me into the Forza site. Hope that helps. I also dont know my windows ID. lol

Yes, I know of that trick. However, there is no option for setting a "track cam" setup like GT's where it will randomly pick the best view for any given area of the track. GT4 had a similar camera angle trick (pop open the tray and hit X to go through the camera angles) and there were a lot more than 100 angles.

With GT4, I can sit back with a cup of coffee and watch all the action in the replay unfold with very little, if any, adjustments.

Turn 10 did have a system setup where you could set cameras around the track, set the panning, zoom, etc (similar to Skate 2)... and piece together a replay however you see fit. For whatever reason, they axed the full replay edit mode for the final release. I was looking forward to it quite a bit. It would have alleviated pretty much all my complaints with the replay system.

Ahaha... well yeah, that helped. 👍
I bought some badass manga liveries for my Cali and going to make some shots of that now, but I think it might be against the AUP to post them here.

I'm not so much into tuning or cars in generall, I just like driving fast, be it a boat, a bike, a car or even a horse! :sly: But what I meant is those settings are a nice workaround to provide something similar to TCS or ABS, they're not the same tho, of course. :)

Yeah, agreed. While the camera angles are pretty good, F3 replays make an rather poor overall impression, however, too much polishing can hurt a game too sometimes. ;)

Also, Forza uses real numbers. Rather than having a spring rate of "7" out of ten, I can have 832.5lb/in springs if I want.

The part I like most about the F3 settings is how you can actually see EXACTLY where the tire wear is. If you have way too much camber the tire wear will show on the inside. Not enough camber and it will show wear marks on the outside. Its very impressive and very helpful to see exactly where the tires are wearing. The more even the tire wear the better the traction.

Loving Nurburgring Gp added as DLC.

Also trick I learnt last night if you wanna race with a car you don't own for in game credits still, create a private lobby set AI opponents to 7 and pick your track and opponent vehicles. Awsome for setting up your own V8 supercar championship!

I can tell...

My point is, it is NOT a workaround for TCS/ABS not being adjustable. Not even close. You're dealing with completely different systems.

Indeed. I have been using this method since day one. It's a great way to earn money while testing out settings, or setting up fantasy race series...

Ah, I see your point now, I noticed this with my Clio V6, even tho I could make it behave a bit more fiddling the 2way differential, it still oversteers like hell if I go full throttle a little bit too early. I still keep TCS and ABS off tho, it's so much fun. :)

Ok, I've googled this for about 30 minutes now, & can't find an answer. But what is the Favorites filter under the Leaderboard toggle & what's its purpose?

Note that I'll probably find my answer right after posting this as well.

Ok, after playing F3 a lot, am on driver level 31 now, I still like it, I still think they have some things done out right better than GT5(Prologue) [e.g. sense of speed, environment graphics matching car graphics, sounds, etc...], but I found some flaws already, of course, like you cannot save your ghosts, they will be overwritten everytime you beat it..!?
Many options are 'hidden', for example I've yet to find a way to download other players ghosts..?
Online public lobby is severely lacking, many race types are restricted to certain classes, that's not bad in general, but I'd really prefer to choose (host) what tracks and cars I want to race. I had some very good races tho with people driving very clean and respectful during the week.
On friday night (yesterday) however, it seems the punters took over, I had not a single race where I wasn't pitmanouvered right after starting the race, so nothing new there...

Anyways I keep reading about glitches and bugs of F3 a lot, but I haven't encountered a single one yet?
So can anybody please tell me a few of those 'glitches' ( please not all at once :scared:), so I can judge this game a little better?
