To get things back on topic:

Everyone should read this.
Some awesome detective work, and it seems to have been confirmed by Che. This track looks awesome, with plenty of character and variety, and will hopefully replace those horrible Snake tracks from F2. I'm pretty excited about racing on those new Fantasy tracks, hopefully they will have Nurburging-like narrow sections where you can steal time on your opponents with wider, more modern parts to make a safe overtake.

Twists and turns do not give a track a soul. The surrounds, the overall feel, the flow, all these make a great track. The snake tracks were challenging but ultimately artificial and sterile. We never raced them online because everyone would rather go and race a track with some character like Seca or Road Atlanta.

Very well done to those guys. 👍 It reminds me of this thread in the GT3 sub-forum, makes me laugh now, considering how easily I could find out which circuits really do exist with a quick Google search.

Lol, all jokes aside, I'm really hoping Fz3 turns out to be a great sim... gotta keep the guys at Polyphony motivated to work harder and harder...

I see what are you saying, though I still consider "snake" tracks are more fun to drive with D class underpowered cars which can't get advantage of long straight lines of real life world tracks.

What I really don't like is New York, because basically it consists of two loooong boring straight lines. They should add some twisted sections like GT4 New York.

Silverstone is also pretty bad track, first of all it's so flat you can't see turns at all and second in Forza 2 it looks like Mars or something. Here they went too far with "art design"

Thanks for stopping by bmw... this one is funnier though.

Otago: Yeah, they were good for the smaller cars. The triple switchback with 180 degree turns was especially fun. F2 New York is a horrible, horrible track, hopefully if it's in F3 it will have more corners. Silverstone is a pretty faithful representation of a modern f1 circuit... boring as hell. Best tracks for me were Laguna, Atlanta, Suzuka and Sunset. Maybe Tsukuba.

Amafi was just announced as having a 3km circuit with a 19km p2p road (probably divided into stages). Epic! Oh... and they announced some silly red cars too.

“Forza Motorsport 3” Unveils the Ferrari Collection and Original Amalfi Coast Track

This October, the universally recognized “cavallino rampante” of Ferrari’s prancing stallion badge makes its return in “Forza Motorsport 3,” the highly anticipated racing experience from Turn 10 exclusively for Xbox 360. As the perfect complement to “Forza Motorsport 3’s” sizable Ferrari roster, Turn 10 is also lifting the curtain on an originally designed track, the Amalfi Coast, where fans will enjoy both point-to-point and circuit racing as they speed through the scenic landscape of Italy’s rustic coastline.

As Ferrari takes center stage at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany, Microsoft and Turn 10 are excited to announce that “Forza Motorsport 3” will include 29 models from the legendary manufacturer, including iconic cars such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 512 TR, Ferrari F40, Ferrari Enzo, and Ferrari 430 Scuderia at the title’s release.

To properly showcase all of the amazing Ferrari models that players will find in “Forza Motorsport 3,” Turn 10 will be showcasing all 29 models on Forzamotorsport.net, starting today and running for the remainder of the week. These reveals will include exclusive screenshots and information on each model, as well as a few surprises, so be sure to tune in daily. For the latest updates on all things “Forza Motorsport” as well as a chance to give feedback and ask questions, follow Turn 10 on twitter (@turn10studios).

Additionally, to help complete the Italian racing experience, “Forza Motorsport 3” takes racers on a tour through one of the most beautiful destinations in the world – the luxurious Amalfi Coast of Italy. Inspired by the picturesque environments of the coastline, the originally designed Amalfi Coast track is sure to be a fan-favorite for showing off breathtaking videos and screenshots captured in “Forza Motorsport 3’s” video export and photo modes. As a circuit, the Amalfi coast is 3 kilometers of challenging narrow cobblestone roads, beautiful beachside vistas, and tight tunnels. In its “Rally di Positano” configuration, the Amalfi Coast is over 19 kilometers of white-knuckled tarmac rally heaven. Fans of point-to-point racing will love getting from point A to point B on the many stages of the Amalfi Coast.

“Forza Motorsport 3” is rated E for Everyone and will be available in the U.S. on Oct. 27, 2009, Europe on Oct. 23, and Asia on Oct. 22. For a deeper dive on the cars in today’s reveal and upcoming announcements in the coming days, please visit http://forza.xbox.com and the Turn 10 twitter.

Wow...those Ferrari models don't hold a candle to what we see in GT5P :ill: Despite the inferior modeling, I'm sure it will still be a great game in its own way though 👍 I'm also really looking forward to seeing if my Fanatec GT3 RS wheel works with this game and the 360. Fanatec is releasing the Turbo S wheel which is multi platform compatible, but for some reason I have a premonition that the GT3 wheel will work with 360 and Forza 3 also :)

These upcoming months are going to be extremely exciting for us racing game fanatics. I just picked up NFS Shift yesterday and will have Forza 3 in less than a month...then we'll hopefully have GT5 by the end of the year. Things just keep getting better and better :sly:

Only the Turbo S wheel works with the Xbox360.

Quite disappointing F40. And can they patch the Enzo nose?

The toy one gets it right.

Looks like FM2 was the same. The overhang leads from the top on FM2 and doesn't blend in with the lower part. I'm not familiar with the enzo so maybe its some revision or T10 was supplied with some old drawings or prototype? The badge is huge.

Hopefully we'll have some rare models to enjoy.

Well I'm not so sure if that's true though. I'm under the preminition that the Turbo S (multi platform wheel) might just be a marketing ploy by Fanatec, giving them an excuse to charge a crap load of money for nearly the same product (GT3 RS), simply because it is badged as the only multi platform wheel on the market. If the GT3 RS wheel was marketed as a multi platform compatible wheel, Fanatec would only be losing money by doing so, because they can get away with charging an arm and a leg for the more limited Turbo S. The GT3 wheel is marketed torward the more hardcore PC sim racers, who alternatively might buy a G25 for less money.

Anyways, I smell a bit of bull...but I guess time will tell when FM3 arrives 👍 Also, Thomas was originally unsure if the game would work with GT5P and PS3...so far it has worked fantastic with all of the PS3 racing games I have tried (GT5P, FC, NFS Shift)...so I'm keeping my hopes up for FM3 to

The models in GT5 should look better, Polyphony has only been in development for 5 years.

When is Forza 3 coming out? Oh that's right, next month.

Xbox uses a different interface (XID) which actually required different hardware to the usual that PC's and PS3 uses. Other non Xbox compatable wheels wont work, even after all this time no one can even get the Logitech PC and PS3 wheels to work on Xbox either.

Even so, MS charges royalties on every xbox compatable wheel sold so it would cost more anyway.

If you look at the car counts and the time spent, it equals out pretty well between the games.

No and that's not the point !

Do you seriously think that those Ferrari have the 2004 standards ?

That's not a matter of time but talent and that's what happen when you outsource modelisation to other society !

Turn10 won a massive amount of time by doing that

So that time argument is irrelevant and I'm fed up of hearing it

 Of course I'm not trying to argue that. Just pointing out the obvious, that the models in FM3 don't look nearly as good as what we've seen in GT5P. I think we all know how slow PD works

Thanks for the heads up :dunce: I doubht the GT3 RS wheel has the XID interface built into it then :( I guess I'll be waiting for some reviews of FM3 to see if I can justify picking up a Turbo S wheel. Hopefully the Club Sport pedals that I already have are compatible with the Turbo S and 360.

Apparently disregarding facts is irrelevant also.

This conversation has happened year after year, between hundreds of people. Gran Turismo always falls short, if Polyphony sold stock it would be called Disappointment Digital.

What good is having so many cars if they all handle/sound similar?
They would be no good, but I'm not sure what game you're talking about because it can't be Forza 3 or GT5.

Here's an idea, if you have nothing constructive to say, don't say anything.

Ohhhhh the /64 GTO has always looked like an ugly 275 to me, I'm hoping we get a suprise classic Ferrari announced.

A fantasy track slightly shorter than the Nurb is great news, so happy P2P is back.
