Happy birthday, Spagetti.

Kinda thrilled to see what kinds of scores FM4 will get. I guess it's going to continue the trend of 90+ ratings...

From what I have seen it should be the highest any FM game has received. I can't see why it wouldn't be.

I wish more then one person could confirm that exhaust changes = new sound.

That's honestly what I really look forward to in FM4.

According to someone with a green disc, yes. This was posted a while back..just dont remember where. Also talked about in an Under The Hood segment. So thats 2 right?

Yes I know about the green disc person.

And the under the hood thing as well, but I don't really understand that particular segment.

I didnt totally get it either. But I am hopeful. Until the 11th we just dont know for sure I am afraid. But I am really, really, hoping 👍

I just hope the cars will sound good with the changed exhausts as well... Don't want them to sound like rubbish after upgrading the exhaust.

In other words, you dont want them to sound like the cars in gt5 :)

I'll be picking it up my CE at 10am at Gamestop, then wait till 7pm (as I have classes) to come home and play.

I will go to the post office at friday the 14th after work, come home, have some spicy food, open the box, install the game, then who knows...maybe pray to god im not getting screwed by turn 10 again...

I recall a few people answering exhaust-related questions in the Photo thread at FM.net & 2-3 folks all said the exhaust will not drastically change the sound, but it will make the cars sound more aggressive along with the turbo/supercharger/etc. mods.

Right gone midnight in Wales.
Forza embargo lifted.
Should have plenty to discuss/argue tomorrow.

Good night.

Generally what they were saying was that youd need new samples for all the different components/add ons and then for all the cars. This could run into thousands of combinations/samples required.

Now instead of having all those pre recorded sound samples they have created a DSP routine which with whatever algorithims they use will alter the sound on the fly dependant on how each upgrade/component is designed to alter the original sample.

We can assume some will add reverb and create a louder/noiser soundstage.
It seems quite a clever thing to do.

Makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up a bit more. Still not sure what DSP is though, but I think I understand what it means.

"Q. Why should I purchase the Forza Motorsport 4 Season Pass?
A. Xbox Gold subscribers who purchase and redeem a Season Pass code in the first week of availability will also receive 250,000 in-game credits to be delivered through their game by Oct. 31, 2011 11:59PM PST."

"Q. What about LCE owners that will already have the American Muscle Car Pack included in their LCE?
A. LCE owners that are also Gold LIVE subscribers who purchase and redeem a Season Pass code in the first week of availability will also receive 250k in-game credits to be delivered through their game by Oct. 31, 2011 11:59PM PST."

Not really sure if that makes up for it.

Not very clear as to whether LCE owners will get 500,000 cr. total either.

...I don't trust a damn thing Gamestop says on their website, in the stores, near the stores, or outside.

Just...no.

Well, I really doubt they would publish this on their site without the go ahead from MS.

OT, but related, sort of.

 A gamestop employee once told me some game or another I was after had it's release postponed on release day. That's when I went across the parking lot to Toys R' Us, were they had a whole display full, bought my game, walked down to Bestbuy for the game guide, came back to Gamestop, and said, "Just so you know, this is what it'll look like when it's released."
I trust the website only slightly more than the store, but it's rare I trust the store, so that's not saying much.

Which is where trhe following dilemma comes in: Random Joe's off the street shouldn't be allowed to work in a game store, simple as. You're an employee selling games; shouldn't it at least be expected of you to know what the 🤬 you're selling, how to (properly) help customers who may not know games as well as most other people?

I love how when I want something (say, a controller) and I ask them for it they usually tell me it isn't in stock...yet there's a big ass cabinet behind them with a transparent window that has whatever it is I want -- I have to point it out to them. Why the hell am I doing their job?

They either need to screen whomever it is they're hiring, or simply go out of business. I shouldn't feel angst every time I pass a store, ffs.

Judging from all the complaints I often hear about Gamestop employees, I must live in the only state with good people. Then again, it does help that I'm essentially in the backyard of their headquarters.

Anyhow, I've ventured into my first Forza Trailer (Gasp), tell me what you guys think:

I decided to make this out of absolute disgust for Kanye West.

Nice trailer. Funny, I think that song was in FM3's soundtrack

BTW, kinda off topic but, out of complete word of mouth praise, I bought the new Speed Wheel to test it on the demo.... After a bit of familiarization, Wow, that thing is great. I found myself dusting off all my racing games to try it. It lacks bumper buttons, so some configuration thinkering needs to be done in some games. Tried with FM2/3, PGR3/4, Shift, Hot Pursuit, TDU...ect. The thing is pretty cool, very easy to learn and master( I was using buttons for "heel and toe" like braking downshift in FM3 in no time once I set up the buttons)... Is not a Fanatec or nothing of that nature but, for easy sim like steering without all the setting up of a playseat, it can't be beat. And the price is affordable too, It's only 59 bucks and you can use it with any racing game out of the box. It's been getting some recognition for it's simplicity and it's better than gamepad input for racing games
