Forza Motorsport 7: Confirmed Car List

I don't see it as going backwards.. I mean Forza is the only game to offer huge car lists from over 90 manufacturers.

And there's your problem. So many manufacturers and so many cars.. something has to give. Unfortunately we'll never know truly what has happened as the world of licensing is a weird place but I'd have a guess at something money related. Perhaps the licensing cost for Toyota went up and became out of budget for T10?

What I was trying to mean is, losing a small manufacturer or one with big problems in real life is a shame but hey, it can happen, but losing 2 major brands in a row is something I could have never expected. At least VW is back, and at least racing Toyotas (plus the Hilux) will be in, but someone is playing dirty here, and that's my point, licensing should become easier, not trickier. Forza managed incredible things, even having Rolls Royce, never featured in a videogame before, and now they can't secure Toyota...again, either Toyota is playing the "we are now so hard to get" card or someone is blocking Forza (and maybe other games) into having them.

I'm strangely okay with this. While I'll no doubt miss the 70's Corolla and Celica, pretty much all the other roadcars (save the GT86 and the Land Cruiser in FH3) were ported over from FM1/FM2 and were poorly modeled, and honestly it was about time they all got axed.

Disagree with the bolded, especially when you're apporaching the numbers T10 are getting to with FM7. The pattern I see with losing brands like VW in FH3 and now Toyota/Lexus in FM7 is that as you license more manufacturers and more cars it becomes harder to please everyone. There are way more variables that can go wrong. Cost is one of them. Brand relations is another. I'd wager this has to do with both of these things.

Yeah, a fair amount of the Toyotas were pretty sub-par in terms of modelling. But that Corolla was a riot, and the 2000GT is a thing of beauty. The Land Cruiser is also my go-to all-rounder in FH3.

I'm trying to confirm the news, but it's not looking good.

What is AR12's source? He was right about the July Pack for FH3 not existing but I think that was dumb luck by him.
He specifically mentions T10 as the source in his article, but did not provide anything other than a quote.

If I remember correctly, AR12 was also first to announce VW's absence in FH3 so I'd say he has a reliable source.

What a shame there wont be 699 other vehicles to choose from in the game :P

But seriously though I welcome Trucks into Motorsport.

I love variety and they certainly add that :)

I don't mind the Titan as long as they fix the aftermarket rims weight glitch..

I wouldn't mind a Toyota expansion pack if this is the case. It seems weird how they seem to miss such big manufacturers two years in a row without a decent explanation.

I don't think you'll get one. People automatically thought with VW's absense from FH3 we'd get one there but of course look how that went.

So yeah probably no Toyota Expansion for FM7.

Top Toyotas that will be missed;
1. Supra the early 90s and mid 90s version
2. First 3 generations of the Celica
3. Mr2
4. 2000gt
This does suck and I would like to know the reason why too. But hey we get other cars to play with and that being said we can at least expect some race version toyotas....possibilities include the superGT supra, the Toyota 7, Toyota touring cars, and rally versions of the celicas.

I'm not sure I get what you're saying here. I'll admit I'm pretty grumpy about this decision so my judgement may be clouded. But I don't see how a business relationship between T10 and Toyota that stretches back 10 games and 10 years is suddenly running into problems. They know each other. They have a working relationship that has been mutually beneficial. The number of other manufacturers in the game is immaterial. This is between T10 and Toyota, and Toyota is blinking. It's even more illogical when you take into account that Toyota is allowing the licensing of their race and concept cars. It's only the production cars they are refusing to greenlight. The only explanation I can come up with is the possibility that Toyota is thinking it's better for them from a marketing standpoint to license the race cars to Motorsport and the production cars to Horizon.

Dammit, I just realised that now means We are unlikely to see the BTCC Avensis's in this game now :(

Shame, Would have loved to have had Tom Ingram and Rob Austins Cars in the game.

“While Toyota production vehicles will not be included in the game, there will be a number of Toyota race cars featured in Forza Motorsport 7. Look for that list later this summer.”

I think the Avensis will be fine. If anything that could free up space for some brand new cars (7, IMSA Celica, GTP Eagle, TS010 and whatnot)

You could make the same argument about VW in FH3. They suddenly run into problems because at the end of the day this is a business deal. Toyota obviously didn't see the benefit to them, thus a deal was not struck. As I said, cost/brand relations could play a factor into that, and those variables become harder to manage the more cars/manufacturers you add.

The number of other manufacturers in the game is immaterial.

Disagree. The amount of manufacturers could have played a part from a cost perspective.

That is because Toyota Motorsport Group are a different entity than Toyota. So when it comes to licensing race vehicles from Toyota, you go through TMG not Toyota. Hence why the race vehicles are still present but the production ones are not.

The only explanation I can come up with is the possibility that Toyota is thinking it's better for them from a marketing standpoint to license the race cars to Motorsport and the production cars to Horizon.

It's as good of a guess as any cause we'll never find out why they aren't in, just like VW in FH3.

I can't wait to take the MX-5 Super 20 around some proper circuits. It was easily my favorite A class car in FM2.

I'm sorry, but WHAT?! Really, Toyota was apparently too hard for Turn 10 to license? *facepalm*
That is just plain silly, I don't see how licensing could be an issue with a manufacture that's been with the series since the first game.

I mean sure, they were able to license the racing models at least, but this is something I just can't let go. This means I can't drive a Supra RZ or a Celica GT-Four in FM7 with dynamic weather. No 1st Gen Corolla, no 2000GT, no MR2, and no Sprinter Trueno AE86.

Oh no I love variety too, and I totally agree with you. It's just that I'm unsure about the Titan since it feels a bit "out there". Hopefully they fix the wheel glitch it had in Horizon 3 :)
