Apparently we are.

But who even cares anymore? Surely T10 doesn't, the last real car pack we got was in July 2018.

Ther was drift pack in december I think, and also Hot wheels. So they were modeling new cars recently. They also release new cars on a monthly basis, so no reason they can't make the last car pack...

We are getting the new 992 Porsche 911 in the next update

992 already?! Saw it on Instagram just now and i am soooo happy about this. I wanted to see a regular 911 Carrera in Forza for ages, getting the newest model might be the sweetest dlc so far. But one question remains... FM7 or FH4?

The most likely scenario is it'll be the free January Spotlight car for FM7.

Still waiting on that last car pack, but getting a new car every month free is a nice gesture from T10. I've missed it most likely, but have they said on stream where their next focus is?

Well that was out of nowhere...

I do have a soft spot for hot rods though!

Guess I'll have to fire up the old 7 on Tuesday, and maybe I can finally get reinvested into the game.

I don't know why they don't just make a second car pass and allow us to buy the cars that are coming into FH4. The assets are supposedly cross compatible, a new Forza isn't coming out this year. Would've been a fine decision.

Overall it's not exactly my cup of tea, but I really am astonished by the Shelby. I'd never heard of it until now, and all I want is to drive it. I appreciate that Turn 10 makes packs like this to target specific pockets of car culture. It's a nice move, and pretty much unique in the genre these days, but the problem is that it's such a niche, it's far more likely to be met with indifference or outright hostility from the actual player base than enthusiasm.

That, and there's a strong hint of rehashing. That never helps, especially if this is the long-awaited second "free" Car Pass pack.

I'm of two minds on this one. On the one, I totally understand why Microsoft wouldn't want to potentially sabotage the new title (FH4) by putting a lot of its cars in FM7 (and thus, negating one of the reasons people might buy it in addition to that game).

On the other, yeah, take advantage of the different sides of the market your franchise is hitting with its two-pronged approach. If someone could spend something like $5 on the FH4 Car Pass to make it a joint one between the two games, imagine the take rate. In fact, keeping it that way in particular would still push people towards FH4, but it'd encourage more play (or at least spend) on both titles.

Don't really care much for this new car pack, but I'm still downloading it anyway so I can have the complete Motorsport 7 experience, well that's that for my Car Pass...

What I'm really looking forward to are the possible expansion(s) for Motorsport 7, if ever they have that planned out, and if the rumors of Toyota ever coming back (both in Motorsport 7 and Horizon 4) being true or not.

Motorsport 7 surely needs expansions (even if we are way beyond over 800 cars), but nothing has been said about it even until now.

Either way here are the videos with the possible Toyota rumors (take these with a grain of salt at first, folks)...

To celebrate the upcoming Rolex 24h, I went and did the full Daytona 500! 2 and 1/2 hours of finger cramping :)

It was worth it. 1.5 million Credits on Pro. I got a replay saved on my profile if you want to see it, I'll probably put it on YouTube later as well...

I doubt anything new is coming to Forza 7 in the way of new tracks. A small skeleton crew is working on it still and brings new features now and then, but the core team is without doubt busy working on FM8 for next gen, that includes the contractors who produce art assets, they're probably busy updating the current tracks for nextgen graphics, unlike the last time the tracks' topology is accurate and it's mainly the scenery that needs improvement, better trees and distant detail, maybe figuring out how to implement the lighting and weather from FH4 for all tracks and so on. Suppose Scarlett will be a fairly powerful machine, so all these things should be possible to have at 60 fps, the tools and OS features should transfer more easily than last time as well. Some systems in the game really need a complete rework and a new approach, a lot of the core stuff has remained the same since FM 2 and it's holding the game back. Forza carried this generation on it's back for Microsoft, so it's about time Spencer gives them the time to evolve the franchise in a significant way, something that cannot be done in an 18 months production cycle.

What worries me is that I hope in Motorsport 8, with the presumed new Xbox, I hope they don't need to rebuild the assets again, like the situation regarding the cars way back in Motorsport 5, where in the opinions of most Forza fans, Motorsport 5 was a complete total flop.

In all likelihood, that is exactly what it happening, and I hope I'm right. A next-gen console needs next-gen graphics. The difference is they are no longer beholden to a two year release cycle. FM5 suffered because there wasn't enough time to properly update all their assets. Now it sounds like they are taking their time with FM8 so it releases with a full menu of updated tracks and cars.

I don't see a reason to completely scrap the assets this time, the cars are all very detailed, second best in the industry after GT depending on how you look at it since PD doesn't model engines and other forzavista level details. The tracks are pretty well detailed as well. I think with new leadership at T10 with Chris Esaki and Phil Spencer at Xbox they will give FM more time in the oven, maybe the fact that Horizon consistently scores in the 90s and Motorsport hasn't been able to break out of 80s this generation might give them the kick up the butt they needed, ideally they should give T10 4 years at least to revamp the engine, the approach and the quality. There is zero need for a brand new sim game every 2 years and the declining sales of FM support this, it's a perfect candidate for a GaaS approach with monthly content and features added for years.

0:15 on forza comes out white smoke even on gravel, wtf?probably because is not physics based like the one on GT

Er, it's probably based on tyre temperature in which case, yes, you could have the tyres continue smoking after they're not on tarmac any more.

I suspect that part of the reason for them breaking their traditional release schedule is so that they can take the time to make sure that FM8 is not a massive step backwards in content like FM5 was. FM5 was a decent game, but it showed that modern audiences won't put up with significant reductions in the amount of content on generational changeovers like they did in the PS2 era.

I expect FM8 and FH5 (if that's the first one out on new Xbox) to have broadly similar or slightly larger amounts of content to a full-DLC version of FM7 and FH4. I don't think they'll be stepping the content down, I expect that they'll be spending a lot of the time adapting it to whatever additional game systems are implemented (new lighting systems, full time/weather transitions, etc.).

And honestly, it'll solidify their stranglehold on the caRPG genre. Both FM7 and FH4 are already massive, and not even Polyphony has the resources to catch up if T10 continue to make use of all the content they've developed for this generation.

Wish it was the January spotlight car!

Been saying for ages that I doubt we'll get a car list like 7s for a long time, esp out of the box.

Yeah but let's be honest, what happens in forza in that particular contest in real life is not plausible.

It sits at 86 wich is just 4 points away from 90 and is the highest racing sim right now, does the score matter that much? Beside if they reviewed it now it would probably be over 90, alot of the cons in the reviews where about the loat crates and micro transactions wich they removed. And the game got lots of new features and content, wich where mostly fan request.

Just finished another long endurance race: Roadster 4h. 129 laps around Laguna Seca in the MX-5 Cup Car. Now, I'm nearly at Driver Level 200 with almost 7 million Credits saved up.

Some publishers have extra bonuses paid out based on metacritic scores. MS probably doesn't, but still T10 were very proud that FM1-4 were all 90 or above. They're making some great moves recently, so I'm excited to see what they do when they're not pressured to release every 18 months and have hardware that isn't complete crap. As I've said FM is a great candidate for GaaS approach and Gamepass in particular can help increase the playerbase. Splitting the users between 3 mainline games this gen was pretty shortsighted, hopefully they've learnt their lesson.
