I don't have sound at work but I think this month's spotlight car is the Audi RS3 TCR?

Although the car pack is the final one, we will, presumably, still get the monthly spotlight cars, which are actually better than the car pass cars, IMO.

I was more disappointed Chris Esaki didn't show up on the stream to tease some new feature-sets they are working on. I like hearing about the technical updates. I know he mentioned Race Regulations in the past, but anything else? Lighting in the game? Adding night or weather to some existing tracks? etc.

I interpret Esaki's absence as an indication they're hard at work prioritizing and making race regulations happen. Last month he gave no specific time frame, stressed how it's a major task but the team is getting there eventually.

I wish they could bring out a real premium 1000+ car list (as opposed to GT's 200+ Premiums and 800+ Standards) by bringing back large portions of the forgotten 360-era generation cars, as well as some cars left out of FM5/6 and the Horizon games. By my count, there are over 1600 cars to date in the Forza series, including model year changes and Forza/Special Editions. My dream would be a Forza where all of these cars are featured in one game, though with licensing and other issues, I know this will never happen anytime soon.

Uh, dream on. There is a 900 car limit to your garage in FM7. I, for one, can say how much of a pain it is to keep my garage below that limit, especially with all the new content being released. (Bonus cars, gift cars, and the ones I got from watching the Forza RC).

It can happen for Motorsport 8 though, for as long as the situation regarding cars isn't like that of Motorsport 5, and if Toyota would finally be generous again.

I'm not sure if this is a temporary glitch, but after today's update I'm denied access to nearly all my season pass cars, except Barrett-Jackson and a few others. How lovely as new car pack is the only one in the pass I don't care for.

You will need to reinstall your Car Pass, which will also install all of your downloadable cars and packs to your game. You need to do the same for FH4 as well.

I think one of the problems is the models of cars I went back and played fm4 and noticed a lot of them have graphical problems that wouldn't hold up to today's standards

While I like the RS3 TCR, it kind of feels redundant with the S3 BTCC a very similar beast, nicer to drive though.

Does anyone else find the taillights of some of the new cars to be cloudy, just look at the Levante, M8 GTE and RS3 LMS, they don't seem up to usual standard.

I finally got around to skimming through the Forza Monthly, and I didnt see Chris Esaki. Sorry but, no Esaki, No watchy. I've grown to really appreciate his behind the scenes discussions, and of course showing off progress in Forza.

I did watch a little of the Audi RS3. It looks like a lot of fun.

Brief one-sentence thoughts on the new car pack:

Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible - I don't know what it is with racing game developers and their complete and utter refusal to let us put the roof down on convertibles.

Shelby Monaco King Cobra - It feels like there's a very thin line between this being a fantastic driving experience and a total murder machine.

Ford Roadster 'Hula Girl' - An absolute gem, and I'm sad that it's probably going to end up being the forgotten car of the pack.

Ford Bronco - This was much more of a laugh than I expected, but it would definitely suit Horizon better.

Plymouth Atomic Punk Bubbletop - The only redeeming factor about this is the looks, and even those are ruined when your helmet clips through the bubbletop...

Chevrolet Chevelle SS - That huge Chevy 572 motor may be a hoot, but with no way to get rid of those awful 20-inch rims I can't see myself using this much. (PS: If you want to learn more about the car, I found the original Barrett-Jackson listing)

Ford Custom 'Double Down' - Help

Ford Custom 'Double Down' - Help

I can help you with the Ford Custom Double Down:

Seems to be brutally fast from a standstill and on the straights (added bonus, it has all-wheel drive) and seems to have pretty tight cornering despite its big, meaty racing slicks, and also has quite a lot of tuning potential.

I meant in a future game, I'm aware it would be too difficult, and pointless to do for FM7.

Yeah, as I said above I was thinking for a future game, and if the licensing worked out.

True, which is why they would rebuild them to the current graphical standards of the next game, like they have been doing for some of the other cars brought back recently. I do realize this is only a dream though, since there are other cars (new and old) that are yet to be included in the series.

In terms of features, FM7 is now better than FM6, but I’m still having as much fun as I was on FM6. The lacklustre state of the game for the months after release really lessened my enjoyment, and although that monthly updates have typically been quite good, I only ever find myself playing for a day or two, before waiting until the next update.

I think it’s the typical FM formula that I’ve grown tired from. I don’t know what exactly I’m looking for, but I really hope the extended development time for FM8 sees progress and improvement come in leaps and bounds. Although, with it being most likely a next gen game, I feel as though most of the dev time will be spent on getting it ready for the new console.

I seen this on YouTube, and I instantly thought that this is something Turn 10 could do with the Trophy Trucks in Forza Motorsport...

Probably a decent use of an update, if you ask me.

I felt the same way playing FM7 and to an extent FM6 as well. I think it's mostly coming down to the fact that it feels like we're reaching the utter limit of the 'Car-PG' sim formula that GT originated, and Forza has continued. It feels like FM4 was the high watermark for that sort of game, and it's kind of gone downward since then. I don't think the solution is to just bring back the event list from FM4 and call it a day though - it feels like there needs to be something more, but I don't know if I can think of that something more.

It's certainly nice though that T10 is taking more time though, to think of that idea. I don't envy them though, because this seems like a trap of a question to ask of the series: what can you do to innovate and refresh the series, but also keep the fanbase that is obviously here for what Forza has always been, and is now the only place in town to get it now that GT has become an iRacing clone?

There was a Robby Gordon Stadium Super Truck in Forza Horizon 2 via the Storm Island Expansion. Unfortunately, it wasn't included in any of the later Forza games after Forza Horizon 2.

That's a shame. I'm not the biggest fan of the Horizon series, so I didnt play the event. It probably was a heap of fun?
