To be fair, it seems less of a case of rushing the game and releasing it with bugs, and more of FM7 really pushing the original Xbox One to its limits.
Of course that does not explain why it is having issues on PCs that are far more powerful than the XB1. It is not pushing my PC at all but still suffers from stuttering at times ranging from minor to intense and missing textures on some tracks after a short while of racing.

Great game but definitely some bugs need to be worked out

To be fair, it seems less of a case of rushing the game and releasing it with bugs, and more of FM7 really pushing the original Xbox One to its limits. Still, it's been a rock-solid 60fps experience for me, apart from the occasional frame-skipping online experience that seems to be solved only by restarting the console (unless it restarts itself).

As for Forzavista being a "shell of itself"... Graphically speaking it surely doesn't seem that way - and as far as the cheesy introductions go, I think those were actually only available in FM5. I'd also wager that the reduced focus on the encyclopedic aspect of Forzavista came under pressure for the community that for the most part deemed it useless and actually asked T10 to remove it completely (a thing I'm glad they didn't). Still wonder why they took out the data displays, tho...

Clyde, if you don't mind (you don't have to), could you test this: Breakout Championship/Rally Series. The 3rd race is in Hockenheimring/rain. Use Audi Sport Quattro S1, when it starts raining, go to cockpit view, race until the end in this view. When I tried it, I could replicate what is being said on that forum. It's not smooth at all, not 60fps smooth. I tried both cockpit views as well (both exhibit frame drops) and kept switching around views (other views were fine, smooth). Now, I'm not saying it's running 1 fps, but for this particular race, something is up. (I have a One S)

As for Forzavista, it's clear information is missing. Looking at the engine and hitting the info button produces absolutely nothing. No longer can the headlamps be turned on (unless in photo mode) and of course, the voice overs are gone. Downgrade if you ask me. To me, priorities were set to get this game out prior to 1X's release, so maybe it will be patched later on.

However, after playing GT Sport demo, its quite clear, Turn 10 can do a better job and take some lessons from PD on creating beautiful showrooms. Sure, voice overs are not needed and they became generic, but it was a nice feature. Scrolling information could replace that like GTS does and GTS does this for every single car, not to mention the historical aspects it also includes (pics/videos). To me, they know how to create proper showrooms.

Turn 10 decided with Forza 7 this whole car collection thing, so needless to say, it would've been nice if the encyclopedic aspect was applied for all these cars. Heck, with the specialty dealer, it would be great if they did.

Finally finished all the showcases(Elite included). I feel dirty about the Sebring one, I was at 40 laps and making 0 progress on Rossi so I turned on friction assist, caught up and spun her out in a tire barrier.

Drivatars are unusually quick for their level at Sebring. When I did the race last night (Pro) Rossi lapped the entire field.

It's pretty interesting to see how well the drivatars are on some courses and terrible on others. They put up a good fight usually, but on Long Beach last night (in a Forza P2 race) almost all the cars crashed and were pitting each lap. Not only that, but they seemed all around more stupid on that track, hitting me randomly, braking hard, dive bombing the apex even if I was there already. It was a mess.

I've noticed that the AI is a lot better on Nurburgring than they had been in the past. Not sure if I paid attention on 6 but previous Forzas the AI was really slow on the ring, downshifting and even braking on areas where they could go full speed easily enough. The one most noticeable place is that first straight through the dip and up the hill. In the past even in the P1 cars the AI was slow there and was easy to overtake most of the field but now they actually go pretty fast through that section. Of course they are still slow in other places especially where it gets twisty but quite a lot faster overall than they used to be.

I'll give this a try when I get home today, but my shift barely started so that's going to be a while. I use cockpit view exclusively, so it should stand out like a sore thumb for me. I'll record the results if I can, since the Xboxdvr site hasn't been uploading our stuff for some reason.

Just got done with the Forza's Driver's Cup last night, now I feel satisfide. :embarrassed:

Sometimes it doesn't take much. Yesterday I started the game, went to my garage starting scrolling through the cars > desktop started again went to my garage waited a few seconds for it to load the first car then popped over to the make I wanted and selected the car. Go to freeplay set track decided I want a different car go to change car start to scroll across to the car I want > Desktop.

3rd try, select the car I wanted from my garage, made sure not to go to fast giving it time to load the first car model, then off to race. Ran several races on many different tracks, no issue at all, changed cars a few times along the way.
I kinda wish the car menu was like FM6 again. As much as I like the whole car rotating in my screen, it seems to stress the game that causes it to crash. But I did do as you mentioned and it doesn't seem to have issues when doing so. Hmm, ain't that strange? Though I wouldn't mind still images again (to be honest.) :D

The actual car rotating would be just fine, I think. What's causing the issue is the fact that they're using full detailed Forzavista models, which you can explode each aspect of the car through the car selection screen. Just put it as the model that they use during races, and I bet it would fix the issue.

I just don't understand how that got passed QC. Did no one look at any cars?

Ohh yeah I forgetten gotten about that, you're right! 👍 I mean it's cool and all, but Forzavista by itself is already there. So figures crossed they solve it in the near future.

I was on Pro too. Rossi still lapped the field despite my spinning her out and causing her to have to pit.

Sounds like that old glitch from FM6 that resulted in Unbeatable drivitars getting placed into lower difficulties.

I actually noticed this the other day too. The vast majority would still do some odd driving techniques, but I did have one newer Charger putting up a damn good fight. My car was built more towards handling so the last straight always killed me, but on 2 full laps, I really didn't get a comfortable lead until about 3/4 into the last lap.

In at least some cases the AI cars are getting more HP than they should have. I mentioned a few days ago being blown away by the AI in a race I should have won easily the replay showed that the lead AI car had over 900hp in a division limited to 650hp I reduced the setting to pro and still lost, reduced it to expert and managed a win but looking at the replay the lead AI car was still over the limit on HP just not as far over as on unbeatable. In the case of Expert level he was running ~750hp where I had <600hp.

There was another race where the AI in the same car I was driving lapped me twice in a 50 lap race even though my car was tuned better than his and I made no mistakes during the race. That same AI car lapped the back of the field 6 times during that race. I did not look at the replay but I did drive the car as the AI drove it and it was quite a lot slower than the tuned version I was driving.

So if you think of it when you see an AI that appears faster than it should watch the replay and pull up the telemetry on the lead car to see if that is the case.

I was told on the official forum that they were listing this as a bug and would be looking at it

I experienced it last night in a supercar race at Le Sarthe. Had a 918 in a field of other cars that included 3 918s and a Veyron SS. I fully expected the Veyron to run away, but in the top end, I was maxing out at 213mph whilst the other 918s kept going. After the series, I went in and reverted the tune back to default thinking the Homologation changed it with the parts lowering my speed, but I didn't witness any changes afterwards.

Game crashed whilst I was in the middle of making a Hatsune Miku livery for the Maserati Granturismo FE. I'm really not liking how slow it takes for vinyls to show up when I'm searching for them either. Forza 6 was much faster and less buggy than this right now.

Just crashed on me for trying to use one of my layer groups on a C6R

I think they might have erased the forzavista voiceovers and reduced amount of sound files to make the size of the game smaller... I hope Im wrong though... Why go 4k if it hurts other aspects of the game?

if your insinuation is that they dropped content in favor of file size because of 4k assets, aren't the actual files for the 4k assets saved for the special Xbox One X patch that specifically will only target Xbox One X users upon release of it?

That's a very specific setup! I'll admit I have skipped that specific career event (reckon it should be the only or one of two championships I haven't completed in the Breakout Championship) and thus haven't had the chance for this bug to appear. But it does sound rather odd - I'll get to trying to replicate it as soon as I can.

I doubt it. Voiceovers and many of the "posh" elements of the GT Sport showrooms take time and money to implement, and disk space when you install the game.
I don't think T10's decision was dictated by a rushed time schedule: it seems to me that rather they took a very deliberate decision to turn Forzavista into a "eyecandy mode" and invest somewhere (i.e. the heavily-narrated career) resources such as voiceover time. As someone who was incredibly excited at the potential of Forzavista back in the FM5 hype days, and an unapologetic motorsport history buff, I am as disappointed as you are - but I can see why they'd take this decision, ultimately most people didn't care about those features, and actively resented T10 for implementing them rather than other play-related features (and whether that resentment had any plausible basis or not matters little).

I agree. In the presentation area, T10 has made enormous strides since the FM3 days, but the GT Sport demo has shown that PDI are still the undisputed leaders of slick-looking menus and immersive, time-consuming photomodes (and this is not meant as a snide remark - I may actually buy GT Sport just for that ). However, again, that doesn't seem to be a priority - and alas, it's a case of this "Dan Greenwalt listening to the community" thing people are so fond of, vs. Yamauchi's approach of making a game he likes and giving you the option of buying it or leaving it on the shelf (which is in itself often problematic, but at least gives "minority concerns" such as ourselves a chance to get what they like, too).

XOne version has "just" around 70gb, the PC is about 100gb from what I remember. Maybe it was originally going to be even bigger so they started to look for things to compromise on. Crazy, I know but It's just my silly theory. The cars having changed sounds shared across many other cars... why would they do that? LaFerrari has generic sound for example and in FM6 it has the right one.

So my guess is that 30gb on pc difference is likely those 4k assets, since the Xbox One won't have them available until the release of the X.

Did one of the open championships with an F50 GT and had a 10 lap race of Hockenheim in the Rain as race 5. No noticeable FPS drops at all in cockpit view over 5 minutes of driving.

Speaking of FPS, I had an unusual issue today.

During a Multiplayer race the game booted me back to the lobby, where I noticed that my menu FPS had increased from 30 to 60. Those were the smoothest menus I have seen for a long time... for the 5 seconds before I chose another Lobby.

I am getting a strange feeling that I hope is just me being negative. There are quite a few cars you can't buy but are shown in the garage, which gives me the feeling that all new cars may be dlc while the rest of the disc cars will be Forzathon/Specialty Dealer/prizes. I don't like that at all if it is the case.

So, um, if I wanted a second Vulcan or F40 Comp, is it possible to redo the challenge? It only dawned on me that after you beat a showcase and get the car, it doesn’t unlock in the buy menu.

I’m not sure, but I highly doubt it. It may be one of those you’ll have to buy in the auction house if you want duplicates, kind of like some of the FH3 cars.

In which garage, specifically? Because both the car rental function and the collection show many cars that were part of the "on disk" car list and are either awarded as prizes, or (future) Forzathon/Specialty Dealer items. All in all I'd say it's you being negative; relax, T10 may be a bit scummy at times, but they're not idiotic.

Nope. I think it works much in the same way as Horizon's Barn Finds and Midnight Battles prizes: you get one, and outside of winning a bid war for another on the AH, that's it.

Funny thing, when you rent a car from the free play menu, the Valiant Charger is listed as a Chrysler, but on the car collection screen it's still a Dodge...

Wonder how long it'll take T10 to fix that, if at all
