So far the only other ones I've heard about are HokiHoshi and Colt Eastwood. The latter is not what I'd term a good racing YouTuber though.
Read that first as Clint Eastwood and did a double take...
Man's got to know his limitations.
That was done for nothing more than to kick a studio whilst it was down for a second b/c of an unintentional gaffe on their end.

Of course the competing studio that models its cars to a point beyond anyone else in this industry, in a game where the presentation is clearly the top priority, looks miles better. And that's before we get into how their LOD models change between photomode and gameplay. It was a lazy comparison that used an ideal instance against a screen grab from a poorly thought out video.

Would be like comparing Florence Pugh on the red carpet to Scar Jo getting out of bed wearing a t-shirt with a ketchup stain on it.
I'd just like to say, I can look past a ketchup stain...

...seems to me that in relation to new cars, FMnot8 is following the same pattern as FH5. The base package is going to include very few cars new to Forza at release , and we saw most of them months ago already. The new to Forza cars are being kept for the DLC pass mainly (as was the case for FH5) - but as with FH5 we might see new to Forza cars in the base game once the Pass has ended.

Also there's a lot of FH5 cars still not included which might get added back later. Don't forget they've got to hold enough content in hand to deal with the "live service" aspect for a number of years and keep the punters buying Game Pass. That wasn't anywhere near the same level when FM7 launched.

I assume that's where he got the idea for his name... kinda doubt it's his real one.

I'm happy paying a wodge of money upfront followed by further small payments later to get other cars if I want them. It works fine with Horizon 5 for me. I can see how Gamepass might work better for other people though.

Besides the obligatory Gamers™, I genuinely wonder.

Are there people out there who will sincerely play the newest iteration of a racing game and only ever touch the newest cars, either in real-world timeline or newest to be included?

You'd think with all the physics improvements FM is promising, there's plenty of incentives to revisit cars you've "played with" before...
Not to mention IMO older cars are much more interesting in every way from the way they drive, look and had much more variety.

Most modern cars from the 'regular' ones all the way to the Hypercars seem too generic and do not really have personality like older cars had but that may just be my bias + Nostalgia talking.

Like yeah the 2024 Lamborghini/Ferrari/McLaren .etc is cool and all but they don't really stand out from eachother.

Happy to see the Skyline Super Silhouette return. The Bluebird had been seen quite regularly but for some reason I was a bit worried the Skyline might’ve been lost with GT7 gaining it. No IMSA 300ZX though, surprising.

Track list is complete.

What I meant is the video showcases of the tracks. They've shown 14 out of the 20 tracks from the list through in-game footage, which usually comes with a car meant to complement an upcoming car reveal.

I think part of it is just the normal "but I want _____!" demands from selfish people looking only at their desires and not thinking about the bigger picture or holes in the list, but a part of it is also a knock-on effect from T10 throwing a very broad selection of vehicles together and the way they have typically not been great at choosing/adding vehicles that fit the holes missing in the list.

Motorsports and the automotive world is so heavily built on rivalries and competitions that adding a single car to the game will almost always mean that car is missing its "dance partner" so to say. For more knowledgeable people they might know that right away, but some will discover this new car, and go to YouTube or whatever and watch videos about the car and see it racing against another car or being lined up against another car in a magazine/car show "shoot-out" or whatever... and now they want that new car's rival too.

By being a sort of "gateway" introduction into racing and the car world, it's no surprise people come in and learn about things and want more of those things. Much like T10's previous lack of focus though, that makes it awful hard for them to keep up, when they need to get whatever the newest generic mid-engine supercar special edition is, and the newest hot hatch, and whatever variant of Mustang has been added to the lineup, and more updated current race cars, and so on and so on.

Having all of the Gr.5/GTO/GTX cars for me it's a win.
Only missing (but I might forgot something, it's been a while since I Have played FM7) it's the Beta Montecarlo for... Stellantis Reasons (and if they bring back her with updates, put also an Alitalia Stratos Gr.5, it would be a blast).
That Stratos would be fantastic. While I get that it's more known for its rally exploits, there were a few cool Stratos road racers made but we never see them in games.

While the Greenwood Corvette is one of my favorite cars of all time so I'm satisfied enough with it, I always wanted a DeKon Monza as well for the GTO field. It felt like a bit of a glaring omission given how strong it was in IMSA competition with Holbert, and it shouldn't be too hard for them to get their hands on one.

Dekon Monza Comes in my mind as another car for that category; it's only appared on RaceRoom ATM.
Strange they omitted the 300 ZX IMSA car. I suppose that bring back some of them as "exiting" content for Seasons, just as FH5, with cars from old titles put in that FOMO thing only to push up the numbers of gamers thanks to GP. (same comes for Elise GT1, E39 and others)

If I'm understanding this right, T10 is going to add tracks and cars to its single player campaign (which is not time restricted).
So there should be no fomo for FM. And frankly t10 doesn't have enough goodwill from Gamers™️ to use FOMO. They're going to have to rely on good player communication, reliable updates/content/features and solid basics/gameplay.

Yeah I hope those come back, but I really don't want them to be FOMO stuff you have to earn by doing repetitive arbitrary ******** "challenges" like they have for FH5. Adding them into the dealership like they did with the free cars towards the end of FM7's life would be much better.

I dunno, there seems to be a lot of people happy with the system in FH5, so I'm worried we will get something kinda similar in FM8. Obviously we (hopefully) won't be smashing 50 cacti or taking pictures next to murals, but I'm worried it's going to be equally unimaginative things.

If they just want people to log in to the game for statistics "engagement" then people will still log in if there are new cars to play with, although maybe not as many every single week. If they need that stuff every week, they should just change it so you earn them with time spent in the game instead of forcing us to do certain things. There's no reason why someone who wants to spend their time making liveries to share with the community or populating hoppers shouldn't earn their Forzathon points (or whatever they are called) and instead have to go do some "beat Highly Skilled AI at Spa with a Porsche" type nonsense.

I am hoping they will eventually also bring back their own version of EventLab, obviously would have to be a cut down version, but it would be kind of neat if people were able to create their own events, setup all the race rules, regulations and car classes etc, maybe even expand it with multi-races so people can create like a mini-campaign, these could be integrated into the SP portion (looks like builders cup is a tabbed interface, so could hit RB to goto EventLab etc), the possibilities could greatly increase the replay-ability of the single player.

They could slam-dunk this by including what you proposed with a GT5-style track creator, but I have no idea if that's on the roadmap at all or a planned feature in any way, shape, or form. It's most likely not, but heh, I can dream. If we can have custom championships at all, that'd be an improvement.

Custom championships would be the dream, the custom race options in FM7 were pretty in depth so the possibility of applying that to a multi race series would be pretty excellent, especially with the roster of cars we have.

So it seems that GT has not that excluvity with Super Formula, iRacing is scaning them and putting in the games as well

Here is a list of recent iRacing cars that can come to Forza if Forza can/wishes so (assuming the Caddy GTP and Mission R scans on iracing was the same for forza)

  • Clio Cup
  • Toyota GR 86 Cup North America
  • FF1600
  • Super Formula
  • Ligier JS P320

Going back through the FH4/FH5 leaks on tcrf:

You can spot a lot of TA,TC , GT4, GT3 , F1 cars that are slowly being confirmed for FM. Kudos to whoever is updating the site for the status of these cars.
It is pretty good list of cars. Just unfortunate that there's no guarantee for them. (especially the Pantera, M6GT, Benetton B190 and the Tyrell P34)

Not to mention GP2 and Formula Renault machines.

Another batch unveiled:

Positively surprised to see the return of the 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish (first appearance in Forza since Forza Motorsport 4), and the 2017 Vanquish Zagato Coupe is making a return from Horizon 4 :)

If im not mistaken, that puts us at 431 so far. Potentially less than a hundred to go

Going back through the FH4/FH5 leaks on tcrf:
Cars from both lists that can show up

  • 2018 Chevrolet Corvette TA
  • 2018 Ford Mustang TA
  • 2018 Alfa BTCC
  • 1990 #20 Benetton B190
  • Formula 4
  • 2017 #38 DragonSpeed Racing Oreca 07
  • Peugout TCR
  • 1976 Tyrrell #3 P34
  • Volkswagen Golf TCR
I find intresting if the TAs show up beacuse both could well replace the NASCAR cars since they are pretty much stock cars
If im not mistaken, that puts us at 431 so far. Potentially less than a hundred to go
i would put in 550, so 110 to go more or less, stil lots of cars since the number of offroders from FM7 that were cut was 150-200
Also someone can count how much race cars we have, T10 said we would have circa 100 new racing cars

Ahhh, so both Vanquishes returning from both 4's. Sweet! Joke aside, I'm super happy to see the 2001 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish make its return, as it's one of my childhood favorites of all time!
