How can an enthusiast say this?
The best most detailed models in the world can never make up for a bland career mode, a free play mode that can be insanely frustrating to set up what you want, abysmal multiplayer, a livery editor that has only had a few improvements in it's nearly 20 years and highly questionable car additions and equally confusing grouping of those cars. And those are just the major issues in my opinion, I could name quite a few smaller issues before bad car modeling pops up.

I would much rather have them focus on the issues actually effecting the gameplay before worrying about some cars that look like slightly off versions of the cars they are trying in imitate. After all I can get all the eye candy I want with a simple Google search, but if I want to pretend to drive those cars I need to resort to games like Forza.

Why wouldn't SuperGT be a fan of Forza? Go sort his videos by "oldest" and you would see he's been playing FM for a very long time, way before he ever uploaded a GT video. If his name is causing you to misunderstand, it's not SuperGranTurismo or something, it comes from the japanese racing series Super GT.
A long time ago sure, but I dont get the impression he cares much for FM anymore.

He wasn't saying they literally did, just that they might as well be doing that, the way they're handling this game. Turn 10 never change, they've been doing this since the FM5 release after all, another game which launched in an unfinished state and didn't live up to the early promises (final graphics were a downgrade from all the preview footage). They always over-promise and under-deliver and it is only right that they get called out on it.
Maybe call them out on it after the delivery date...? The game isn't even out yet.

I'm pretty sure anyone who played FM1 to FM7 heavily will give FM2023 a fair chance, it's just that his view is more "GT7 and real racer" these days. Which is fine, since it's a pretty unique perspective.

It's been a really long time since T10 released a FM, can't do much about that. There's been 2 GT games since and both heavily overshadowed FM7 for people who mainly play multiplayer. And FH is not a good alternative for multiplayer either.

Even the comparisons with the GT7 Evo V are ambiguous at best, it's like, mate, that's not even the same car
That was done for nothing more than to kick a studio whilst it was down for a second b/c of an unintentional gaffe on their end.

Of course the competing studio that models its cars to a point beyond anyone else in this industry, in a game where the presentation is clearly the top priority, looks miles better. And that's before we get into how their LOD models change between photomode and gameplay. It was a lazy comparison that used an ideal instance against a screen grab from a poorly thought out video.

Would be like comparing Florence Pugh on the red carpet to Scar Jo getting out of bed wearing a t-shirt with a ketchup stain on it.

Great to see these cars returning. Can't keep everyone happy though.

Makes you wonder.

I do find it somewhat funny that they picked that car from that particular team considering how that team got funding to go racing. :irked:

This is a pretty good article, basically showcasing the downfall of Level 5, as well as other cases including the one about Vic Lee.

A similar story of fraud and lack of sponsors can also be found here (it is paywalled by the way): https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a35099646/race-car-frauds-beware-of-competitors-with-no-sponsors/

to be fair where are all the new race cars. Theses are nice to return but there are plenty of new prototypes,GT3 etc available the should be in the game.
Yeah seeing these car lists they have been releasing gives me no hope that much of anything will be new just nothing but rehashed cars which in a sense is fine. Would have been nice though to have a few newbies sprinkled into each division. But on the flipside this gives me hope that every dlc/expansion we get will be newer and new to forza race cars, road cars, sports cars and hyper-exotics especially since they cut out trucks, suvs and offroaders.

Makes you wonder.

Besides the obligatory Gamers™, I genuinely wonder.

Are there people out there who will sincerely play the newest iteration of a racing game and only ever touch the newest cars, either in real-world timeline or newest to be included?

You'd think with all the physics improvements FM is promising, there's plenty of incentives to revisit cars you've "played with" before...

most of people (including me) only know as the MS Office paint scheme
I Myself had no idea about it until now
Not to mention calling an Oreca FLM09 "All American".

the scheme in question was raced on AMERICAN lemans series
Can't keep everyone happy though.
True, about scams, I bet most of people dont know the issues of licencing every racing game that is not from EA is having to endure right now due a certaim motor games or something like that

Having all of the Gr.5/GTO/GTX cars for me it's a win.
Only missing (but I might forgot something, it's been a while since I Have played FM7) it's the Beta Montecarlo for... Stellantis Reasons (and if they bring back her with updates, put also an Alitalia Stratos Gr.5, it would be a blast).

Well I for one really love that ACC has constantly added new car models to ensure we have the entire current GT3 field, although it was in the form of expensive DLC.

Still, if you ask me which year I simulate in ACC from 2018-2022 then it’s always the latest year (2023 season will be released once the races and any special liveries or BoP are done).

So yeah, there will definitely be people like that. But since Forza is a game with tens of different new and old classes, it works differently. However I really hope they split Forza GT and Forza Touring Cars classes into more categories instead of lumping everything post 2000 together….

guess people want play/pretend they are driving they see on TV nowadays

The Homogation version was in FH5, so i guess it is likely it can show in FM soon
Yeah, but the Homologation version you refer it's a FIA Group 4, a Rally Spec one.
The one I say it's this one, used by the "Giro d'Italia Automobilistico" in 1976 , droved by Sandro " Il Drago" Munari.

Also this one have appared in a obscure "Kuruma Manga" (Car Manga in Japanese) called "Circuit no Ookami" (Circuit Wolf) by Satoshi Ikezawa (The same guy who have converted a Road Legal Countach for the 1st season of Super GT Japan, with Terai Engineering)

Still eager to hear about the livery editor and possible return of social features like FM4 had. Maybe the next monthly will go over some of these.

I meant the another one, not the Stratos, the Group 5 one is what i mean
Oh i see, that one it's a Beta Montecarlo ;-)
Wanted for ages also the Road Legal One. Shame the Lancia representation it's only the Rally Ones in Videogames. There's a Plethora of cars from the Italian Brand (Aurelia, Thema 8.32, D24 Pininfarina...)
Anyway sorry for the wishlisty post ;)

I'm hoping the Livery Editor got a massive overhaul from FM7. Seeing some of the same bugs across multiple games, even Horizon, where trying to apply a livery automatically deletes other parts of the OEM paintwork was a little annoying. FM7's ability to find new designs was lackluster as well compared to FH5 where the ability to see a lot more designs was much better.
