Looks like I need to buy and tune that Datsun. Looking forward to racing with you guys again. I took a pretty long break from Forza, so I think this week, will be me trying to knock off the rust.

Also, trying to understand qualifying. We basically qualify on our own for the week, and report our best time?

Welcome back. Leaderboard position will determine qualifying...you only need to report your time or provide a replay for qualifying if you have a previous time on that track that you can't better. At least that's my understanding of how qualifying will work this season.

I think I'll skip till you guys are at B class. Maybe not. Not sure. I don't know. Don't like racing at a slow pace...

Have fun everyone! :D

Man!! Slower cars = more door to door action and proper fighting! You can't miss that, surely? ;)

And one more question about the cars: Jimbo, I see you have written the drive type after the name of the cars. Will it be like last season, so that everyone has to use the same drive type (RWD, FWD, 4WD) to keep it even?

edit: AND one moooore question: I'm a bit confused at the moment since I'm writing this in a bit of a hurry. Has the qualification already started? It is hot-lapping in Suzuka East in the F-class Datsun? Sorry for being stupid. :D

@Silent- Like Wiggs has said, qualifying this season will take place in the Hot Laps mode. The issue with HL is that if you have a time that you cannot break during the qualifying week (The leader boards will not reflect a time that is not faster than a previous lap from any previous time you may have Hot Lapped) so to counter this, I have suggested members who run into this issue will PM me their times and any questionable times will have to be presented in a saved replay or a photo of said time. I know this isn't the best way but we will have to work it out.

@Forcone- All drivetrains will be the same for all members during races. In the event of a multi class race, this rule will be divided between the two classes.

Yes, qualifying has started. It will start each week (Monday) once the car is selected by voting. The qualifying will end Friday at 10 pm est.

Sitting at 1:02.6 for now after running about 10 laps in the Datsun with a pretty basic build/tune....good for #772 overall on the leaderboard at the moment. The car has 1:01's or better in it with a perfect lap. I think I"ll wait before I run anymore....I'd like to see what some of you other guys put up first.

Come on Carlos....be a good sport. I'll be racing in classes I'm not comfortable in, but I'll do it anyway, even though I'll probably be towards the back of the pack in the R class races. Besides, the only chance I have of beating you will be in the lower class races.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm okay then  I'm on night shift this weekend so if it's around 1/2 EST I can make it :D

And I'm free tomorrow, I got no plans so maybe I see you guys on Forza! :dopey: I haven't raced with you guys for so long, I begin to miss it.. :nervous:

Glad you changed your mind Carlos. I'm working nights from now until the end of next week....hopefully I'll see you on and we can race.

Ahh and it starts again. So how do I do the livery again? Also I'm terrible in the paint booth. Is it absolutely necessary to have one?

Just plop some sponsor decal that you want for the season and your number on your car. :)

I must have overread this but where can I select wich sponsor I want?

What times are you on?

Theres a field in the spread sheet you signed up with. Edit it to include your sponsor. 👍

After much struggling trying to get my Williams style livery to look good I gave up and tried about another 3 different main sponsors before finally deciding on Coors Light :D

*Edit*

I'm sitting at 1:02.437 with a basic tune, can't see me troubling the 1:01's though

Yeah, just pick a sponsor (not already taken) and find one on the storefronts, no need to start from scratch. Reason I wanted the sponsors for each person is to add some detail to our pictures etc. You don't have to create some elaborate livery, just a sponsor logo and placard with your number (Fezz ST has the universal one on his storefront.

Looks good Fezz....I wish I could produce liveries that look that good. I ran 5 more laps to get to 1:02.2...I probably won't run any more until the end of the week.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but not real familiar with "Hot Laps".....So the Hot Lap part of the game will automaticly save my ghost/time from any time I have drove on that track??...If this is true then I will never beat a A Class time with a F Class car. The only reason Im asking this is that I will be trying to qualify in the next couple of days and want to know what I will be up against when I finaly get the chance to turn my Xbox on. Just trying to get my ducks in a row.......

The class you pick for a Hot Lap is the only cars you will compete against. You also compete with yourself in the sense of-

EXAMPLE- You choose the Nissan Datsun 510 F Class on Suzuka, you do a few laps and your best time is 1.04.xxx. That time will be the current leaderboard time. If you beat it at a later date, the faster time will be the current time.

Now the potential issue for some is let's say you already did a Hot Lap on that course with a different ''F'' Class car and now you are trying to qualify in the Datsun this week and the time you got from an earlier time (before the 2nd season) is faster than you can achieve in the Datsun.....Well now the lap time in your Datsun will not show on the leaderboards, so if this happens, just save a replay of your Hot Lap (for proof) and then proceed to PM me your time. *This will only be an issue if you cannot beat a past lap time in a different car than the Weekly qualifying car.

Damn guys, those are impressive times with the Datsun! Seems like playing only Rock Band 3 and BF3 have made me lose my touch

We all know how seriously you take qualifying. If somebody puts up a top 200 overall time they won't be safe....you'll just run lap after lap until you put up a top 10 overall time. ;) The Datsun is very good in F class...only about 3 or 4 cars in the whole game are better overall in the lower classes than it. I would add my Datsun to the club garage, but I'm sure somebody would beat my time with it....maybe I'll share it on the last day of qualifying. :P
