Nice to see that folks still have to resort to cutting corners and track-extending on Yas Marina to finish even remotely close to 1st. Just had a guy in a green Mustang wipe out @SlipZtrEm and nearly collect me after he track-extended and slammed into Slip.
Also, it's nice to finally find a use for this Halo 5 Mustang GT.

I figured that we would be both cars at the end of each week, kinda like how you could get a Lamborghini Gallardo and Huracan super trofeo from competing in the Lamborghini events months back. This seems like a Ford version of that so far.

Welp, just had my 1st ragequit with this event. It's amazing how blind some racers really are in this game. Even with Turn 10's very own Mechberg in the lobby, people still insisted on ramming and track-manipulating.

Doing this league reminded me why don't do leagues.

Had an absolute horror show of a race with @SlipZtrEm and the YouTuber SuperGT at Prague short reverse (terrible track) and figured I'd stick around one more if the track was better.
Got...Road America East. The visions I had of what those tight turns after straights would be like convinced me to leave.

The standard of driving is shocking, and the track choice is just as bad. Why is it so many super short tracks & reverse layouts? Is it too much to ask to run the normal configuration of a track here and there?

Best part was that when I joined the lobby, Mechberg was in it and the driving was still atrocious. Makes me thing the Marshall program will be a flop.

I think you joined the same lobby I was in. I left after rage-quitting on Sebring thanks to the dude in a Lightning McQueen style Mustang who took me out. I even witnessed Mechberg go off track and rejoin right in front of me! Like, dude! You're a Turn 10 admin, and you're doing that too?! :banghead:

Yeah, it's not pretty. Saw you in there and was going to warn you.

There's one particularly dirty Brazilian that ran me right off the side of the road on a straight at Road America East. Looks like he just left. Thank god.

Not a good sign that nobody is seemingly being punished for the piss-poor behavior. I'm going to bank up some more points then focus on the Rivals event.

Never raced online before but since there's a chance to get free DLC (and lots of it) in currently giving it a go.

Currently 'done' 4 races so far and am in the top 45% Race 1 was at Silverstone Wet and a collision on T1 caused me to drop down to 6th but by the end of the race I got up to 4th, just behind a burgundy Mustang. I went for an outside overtake on the final corner but he had other ideas and pushed both of us into the sand, still finished 4th.

Race 2 was at Watkins Glen but I got disconnected during the first lap. Race 3 was at Yas Marina and luckily half the grid crashed on turn 1. A Lightning McQueen liveried car then tried to ram me going into one of the tight chicanes, but he ended up in a wall. Then it was just me and a Blue Mustang and there were no incidents until the end of the final lap when I braked into a corner a little late and hit his car and spun. I ended up finishing in 3rd again.

Finally there was a race at Rio, and after accidentally bumping a Mustang just before a small corner, I almost crashed myself, as I ended up on 2 wheels and sliding, just avoiding the crash barrier. Then I got disconnected from that one too.

Instead of keeping this locked within the general chat thread, I figured it deserved it's own.

Elite Series

Each week, the four Showdown finalists will also be eligible to win the newly-released Xbox One S console, Xbox Elite Controllers, and wheels from Logitech.

At the conclusion of Week 3, the 12 finalists will race against one another for the chance to add the Focus RS to their real-life garage. This final race is also scheduled to be broadcast on the official Twitch channel, on September 4.

Open Series

The Leagues mode of FM6 will host the Open Series, grouping players with similarly-skilled competitors as the vie for the prizes. It too will kick off this coming Monday. Each week will run the same cars as the Elite Series (Mustang GT, Formula Ford, and GT Le Mans), on a rotation of tracks. Prizes will arrive in the form of DLC for the game, covering anything from the Porsche or NASCAR expansions to the FM6 Car Pass.

Unlike the Elite Series, Turn 10 have not put a number on how many players will be eligible for these prizes each week, but they too will require players to register at ESL to be eligible.

Open Series Week 1 League: August 8–14
Starring the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and a variety of tracks

Open Series Week 2 League: August 15–21

The Falcon and Escort will both come with special liveries relating to each week's competition. Neither one requires the player to sign up for ESL.

In the ESL portion of the Elite Series, the top 4 finalists each week will also be eligible for prizes such as Xbox One S consoles, Elite Controllers, and Logitech wheels.

In the Open Series, players will be able to win FM6 DLC each week. T10 hasn't mentioned how many people will be eligible each time, but have said the packs up for offer are the Porsche and NASCAR Expansions, and the Car Pass.

So to get the Falcon and the Escort do I need to just do the Rival events or is there something else?

Had a few races in the League lobby. My first couple of races were the typical affair; you get into a position and then wiped out. Two mid-table finishes. I then had an opportunity for third, until a rammer put me out. I dropped to 5th and managed to pinch fourth, which was respectable. In my last race, I had the fortune of avoiding most of the troubles and ran to third. One last-lap idiot when I was close to passing second had waited a lap down, just to hit someone and he chose me. Fortunately, I hung on and bagged my first ever podium.

I think I tried Leagues once, but I'm not really a racer. Heck, I haven't touched career since probably the first week. So, I have to give thanks to T10 and Ford for giving me a reason to try it out again, because I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Just did a few Leagues races and some mixed reactions came out of it... The first race I did was at Spa in the rain, and thanks to a front row starting position I managed to take the lead into the hairpin and hold it for most of the race, until I made a silly mistake at Stavelot in the last lap and ended up 2nd. Second race at Sebring was surprisingly uneventful and boring, finishing 6th, miles behind 5th place and miles ahead of 7th. Had a fantastic 4-way scrap for 4th position at Road Atlanta next, some of the best online racing I've ever been in, and ended up 5th there. A 9th at Silverstone in the rain, another 6th place at Lime Rock with fairly decent racing (except the first lap but that's to be expected) and I was wondering if it was just luck or if my lobby wasn't actually that bad.

But no. Went to Prague reverse short, I was running 3rd, right on the 2nd place's tail, when he got really loose in that corner just before the weird narrow bridge and hit the outside wall, so I slowed down not to run into him and immediately got sent spinning around by the guy behind me, only to have most of the field ram into me while I was spinning/flipping/a mixture of both. Then I got PIT maneuvered by some absolute idiot who has no clue how to drive straight, in a hot pink Mustang at Watkins Glen on the "boot" straight, got collected by everyone again, and got spun again, by the same guy, on the same lap, on the start-finish straight.

So yeah, if anyone here was racing a few minutes ago and encountered a dark grey Mustang getting thrown around like a pinball, it wasn't my fault and I'm sorry I ruined your race.

On the other hand, currently 774th in the World with the Fiesta at Sonoma. 1'32.5xx but I feel like there's more to it yet.

Had some good runs in the leagues, then I beat your time with a 2:14.995.

I'm looking forward to running more league races, now I've bought my own stock Mustang. Got a livery started for it, which I think I'll share once it's done. Just need to make my own FRC crest so the design isn't locked.

Did some league racing today, and it went really well. There were still some first turn disasters and lapped wreckers, but for the most part it was good, clean racing. I was in a lobby with 5 of the top 15 people on the league leaderboard and it made for some great racing. As of this posting I'm in 64th! Hopefully I can stay in the top 50% by the end of this event!

Am I the only one who finds it weird that Turn 10 employees are allowed to compete and win prizes?

Got third on its maiden drive. It's shared if anyone wants to run something a bit different.

Racing, Realistic; forzahouse frc ford mustang livery

Regarding the Open Series prizes, I know that you have to be in the top 50% of that weeks league in order to qualify to get the prize. However, does anyone know if it's a random amount of people in the top 50% or all in the top 50% that get the DLC code?

I'm pretty sure it's everyone in the top 50% that gets it.

make that a brazilian GANG and you'd be right. he was not single.
I run a couple of races with you earlier, but they were of the ..pinball-style variation :)
Other times lobby gets ..filtered out and one may have the most fantastic races with great drivers and competition.

I think they should drop you from whatever class if you drive piss-poor and hit other cars much etc. That would be a nice step.

ps. here's is something from earlier in the league that you dont see every day:
