Won my first race in Pinnacle, at COTA West. 19 people, and I started fourth or fifth. Managed to avoid the first-corner chaos, and reeled in the leader without too much trouble. Lucky!

make that a brazilian GANG and you'd be right. he was not single.
I run a couple of races with you earlier, but they were of the ..pinball-style variation :)
Other times lobby gets ..filtered out and one may have the most fantastic races with great drivers and competition.

I think they should drop you from whatever class if you drive piss-poor and hit other cars much etc. That would be a nice step.

ps. here's is something from earlier in the league that you dont see every day:

Yeah, sorry if I seemed silent, was in a party chat with a buddy. I felt bad when you got collected by my spinning car at the Glen, after somebody slid right across my nose. Today was a nightmare of dirty racing. I have no idea how T10 plan on televising this sort of thing, and it's further proof to me that eSports may not be ready for the prime time.

Damn monsters, was kinda pleased to beat Furious Sausage in qualifiers, then checked the leaderboards and saw that the top 200 or so are 2:05.*** compared to my 2:15.799. Top 57%.

Gonna have to follow the top guy's ghost for a few laps, see if I can shave off a few seconds.

Now I guess I gotta shower and have a few league races before I go to bed. Not overly excited until week 3, NASCAR is the only Forza DLC I don't own since FM3 and that's only because it was removed before I could buy it.

+edit
First race was mostly okay, a hell lot of "rubbing" and I dropped from starting place of 9th to a 17th finish trying to avoid everyone. Yas Marina Corkscrew Night.

Second race I started 20th out of 23, I stayed behind with another guy to avoid first turn messiness, a guy who spun out earlier just bursted into the driving line, I tried to avoid but failed, and the other guy behind me nailed me, we both had to pit because of the damage and neither finished the race. Silverstone Wet.

Longer races would have been a lot nicer, chance to recover from silliness and allow the more bat**** drivers to take themselves out.

Oh man I (Furious Sausage) hate Monza! I suck with the braking points :/ kudos to anyone who can drive Monza quick.
Yeah, not my favorite either, especially with stock tires and a relatively heavy vehicle. Turned on the visual braking points and just pushed them a bit further every lap.

I really need to learn how to use manual in video games lol.

I might give driving line a go for braking points. That or a top time ghost.

I drive all assists off, manual (no clutch) on a controller.

winning in a full lobby can net you over 3 grand
but even a top five finish with a clean lap and race nets you close to that.
some times its just pinball racing though, nothing you can do about it.
no worries about "collecting my car", the last 2 days it has seen so much beatup I dont even recall what you are saying :D
ex. the two guys above me in the pinnacle leaderboard, I raced with them earlier today and one just rammed me out after I passed him without touching, after he was blocking my way for 2 laps! and the other one gave rights to the former. they even send me messages full of nice words. I will extra-enjoy beating those two later today :)
and if it comes down to pinball with them, I guess I'll hit them till they tilt :D
edit: twillis1234 and zero limit they are. total tag-team douchebags

They should turn damage off in these races. Sick of :censored:heads punting me into a wall, stopping in the middle of the track, brake checking, sending me into them or a wall and crippling the car.

These league races are :censored:ed.

I must be getting good luck for lobbies, lol. I spent 2 hours racing last night and only had 1 race with a major crash, which was Nurb GP in the wet on the first turn.

The time trial is difficult. My PB is a 2:06.6xx and I know I can shave a second off to be in the top 128, but it's so difficult. I hate having to cut turns, but I really want to try and win one of the prizes up for grabs. I have good pace most of the lap, but Lesmo 1 is what kills me. For whatever reason I cannot carry much momentum through that turn.

I wonder how the actual race is going to go? Since it'll be at Monza in the Mustang, I wonder if all the competitors will cut turns or race properly? The ESL rules for the race seem more like a legit race rule book (ie. no ramming, railing, pitting, dirty driving, severe corner cutting, etc. or you'll be DSQ'd). Hopefully it works out, but we'll see.

Edit: After 20 more laps around Monza, I can't seem to go any faster then 2:06.226 which puts me 70th in the America's and 260 in Top Scores. Oh well, might get better luck next week around Catalunya.

I lightly bumped someone at the Bathurst Esses last night, who decided to slow right down needlessly and then he started screaming over the headset. Sorry dude, where the heck am I going to go if you're playing silly buggers?!

If you can get a clean start and away from most of the field, then you've a great chance of a podium finish in the leagues.

Well that's encouraging. The ESL final will be run at a different course after this track-cutting fiasco:

Hi folks,

I wanted to let you know that we’ve been following this thread closely and that we do recognize the issues that players have brought up with Monza being used in qualifying for Week 1 of the ForzaRC. While our goal was to bring this track back into competitive use with our recent content update, clearly there is more work to be done. With that in mind, I’d like to apologize for any frustration this has caused.

To be clear, we will be using the track limits as defined in Forza Motorsport 6 for our qualifying Rivals events. However, for this weekend’s Week 1 Cup and Week 1 Showdown events with ESL, we will be running a different track – the Nürburgring GP.

Thanks,
Brian

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I was running against the top guy's ghost and I'm losing about a second in the first chcane and then another 0.5 in Ascari. My time is a 2:05.6, if I put toghether my best sectors, I could maybe squeeze into the 2:04s, but I just can't be bothered.

So, only people who haven't cut the track will be eligible for the Week 1 Cup? Darn it! I had a 'what if' moment when I was lapping earlier today wondering if this would happen, but I had already done my cutting lap so that disqualifies me. I wish they realized this issue earlier and didn't use Monza, but whatever. Hopefully there won't be this issue around Catalunya.

The first chicane is brutal. You have to have the perfect line to not get your wheels up in the air or lose all your speed trying to straighten the back end of the car.

Nah, you good.

Well, 2:06.226 is the fastest I can go. I just spent another hour and a half trying to shave .7 off to get into the top 128, but failed to improve. I was able to get 2:06.226 a couple of times, but the second chicane and Ascari just throw me off. I cannot get a good line through there. I'm not looking forward to the Formula Ford around Catalunya, I just did a few test laps with it and that car is difficult to drive.

Ran a 2:12.816 in the Monza time trial after 3 laps. Did a few league races after and whilst there's still a lot of argy bargy and lots of "lol track limits", it was a bit less chaotic than when I did the Lambo leagues. Then I discovered I've been moved into the Elite division. Welp.

I ran a handful of laps at Monza earlier just to place: I won't be around this weekend, so even if I wanted to push for ESL placement, it'd be wasted. Out of curiosity, I ran a lap with some moderate cutting, and it was 1.6s faster than I could manage clean. Oof.

Looks like I make a few brief cameos in the latest Super GT video:

I felt bad about that Alps wreck: the guy in front of me randomly hit the brakes mid-corner, so I had nowhere to go but to the outside. Sadly, just clipped the tires, and they're the grab-and-spin variety. :(

As if to prove my point, I started second on Prague short reverse, in the lead by the first corner and unchallenged for the rest of the race. Three seconds ahead of second place, but hey; my first win is my first win.

I hate the second chicane on Monza I don't know where the good breaking point is to cut the curb nice without going slow or get a penalty. Any way I'll stick with my 2:14 I'm in the top %46.

The races are longer now and you only get damaged when you hit a wall by the looks of it.

+edit
Nevermind on damage... Some people are dicks lol

Don't clip the yellow bumps on the right and you won't get penalised.

Did 2 hrs straight, 2am to 4am.

Some good races, some bad ones.

Typical race was 15th/16th of of 23, last race and best was 12th/24th, gave up the 11th spot on the second to last turn on Road Atlanta out of fear of being rammed. Got to 9th as my best which I jumped to from 20nd after a huge pile up took out nearly everyone above 12th lol.

From 98% to 38%.

9/10 will play again.

The leagues seem like great fun to me. Wish I had tried them sooner.

I honestly wish I could be demoted to Elite division. Why I'm in Pinnacle is beyond me. I'm not that great. I'm decent, but not great, and it shows. I usually end up as a backmarker in the races. Rarely I'll finish well, but usually I fall behind.

Same here. Aside from the occasional wreck fest where I get lucky and podium, I'm usually anywhere from 6th-7th to anywhere beyond that, depending on who I'm racing against. I went straight from Grassroots to Pinnacle after that one back in late June with the STCC/WTCC cars where I finished 19th overall and scored something like 9 straight wins, which were all due to the fact that yes, I had to create a brand new account, but I've been playing Forza for just about 10 years now so ultimately I know how to handle the cars and the tracks, but I never got to repeat that, and I usually feel way out of my league (pardon the pun)

We don't have to register to get the two fords right? Do we have be in the top %50 in both races or just set a time and wait?
