Had a blast with the Ford GT earlier, though I think I've also sprouted a few new grey hairs. My first race was the Top Gear track and although the leader finished way ahead of me, I came a very comfortable second, much to my surprise, as I hadn't driven the track since spamming it as a test track in F4.
I did another race, forget where, but found the TCS which I don't usually use but thought it might be a good idea was bogging me down way too much, so switched that off and took a race or two to keep the back of the car in check (using a controller). Did about 5 more races in all, coming 3rd or 4th in most. My last was the Nurburgring GP circuit on which I took off like a jackrabbit, however by lap 3 I was getting hunted down, which surprised me as I thought I was about half a lap in the lead.
Which leads me to my first question - Is there rubberbanding? I really hope not so I guess the guy had a tune, but not sure I like that either, I'd prefer all the cars to be bone stock (it's also weird how it suggests you mod the car at the start only to tell you it's illegal so you have to remove the mods). Anyways kept in touch with the leader but made a couple of schoolboy errors later on and ended up in 4th, almost 3rd, then called it a day.
So my second question is, it kept lining more races up for me and one or two of the more persistent drivers, with others coming in. Does it go on like that indefinitely, until gradually everyone drops out and new folks rejoin? Also I don't really get how you progress yet, it is a "league" after all but I guess I should look into this more.
Didn't have too many cheaters thankfully, one or two rammers and dirty drivers but found I could more often than not sell them a dummy and watch them fly off the track, which is quite rewarding. The top 4 or so I found to be pretty courteous, though I can understand the open-wheeler Formula Fords were far more chaotic

Set a half decent 1:51.5 in the time trial. I'm already much much happier driving the GT LM after the Formula Ford last week.

For some reason, I can't purchase the Focus RS. I was able to get XBOX LIVE last week. Now, I can't get any packages. Anyone have a similar problem?
Side note: I look at the "Free" cars in the Cars menu. It shows the Hot Wheels cars available. I did not purchase that pack. I looked on my purchased items in my account. There is no record of me purchasing that pack. *scratching my head*

I'm a half second off that lol.
Entering the third week of this tournament and yet nobody still knows how to go around the first two corners/turns without a massive pileup.
Can't complain though, my first and only race so far was a personal best for me this Championship with a 7th place finish out of 24 for 3700 points.
From dead last on the starting grid to 7th without ever really fighting for position after the first lap. All of my passing was done via driving carefully around wreckages, cars trying to recover from a spin out/collision or passing the pits.
I found making a high grip and high speed tune and switching between the two is a bit more effective. After I started doing it with the Formula I went from 16-18 finishes to 12-16 finishes with a then Championship best finish of 8.

Just had a pleasant 2nd Place finish andbdidntbget touched by anyone.
Nice and clean. Passed all the Cars the spin out and I just followed the leader for the remaining 4 laps.
Edit: Amazing! Two races in a row. Came 2nd. Watched the carnage and followed the leader across the line.
I did get a tap starting from pole but, I let everyone through turn 1 at Silverstone Full.

Haven't tried the league races yet, I've been so focused on the time trial. My PB is currently 1:46.9xx, and before my internet went out last night I was 0.2xx seconds behind the top 128. It's so difficult to push myself to get that extra 0.2 out of myself. I know it's possible, I've been 0.6 ahead of my PB a few times, but due to inconsistencies I either tap a wall near the end, or mess up on the chicane. That chicane is giving me such a hard time, you have to have such a perfect line through there if you want to go fast, and even then there's a large chance you'll hit the kerb wrong and that'll upset your car. Gonna do some more laps to try and get into the top 128.

OK I'm still confused, please bear with me! Folks are referring to the "time trial", but which event is this? I took part in the league stuff which was a series of random tracks (see above) then went to what I assumed was the Rivals part of the Championships, where I seemed to be able to choose from more than one event, but went for the Ford Fiesta at Sonoma, which I was lapping at around 1:35. Should that still net me one of the unicorns or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks, I think it had updated the leagues event but not rivals as it still had the Formula Ford event, but I couldn't enter, so it looked like there was a choice of other tracks with different Fords...kinda misleading. Anyways blasted a few laps around Watkins Glen in the GT (by picking it up directly from the Message Centre this time), times won't set the world on fire but was fun and looking forward to those cars.

Fiesta? Unfortunately that event does not yield the Escort. So far the only events to have gotten the car was the 2015 Mustang around Monza full, the Formula Ford around Catalunya GP, and most recently the Ford GTLM around Watkins Glen GP.
Sorry that you haven't gotten the Escort yet, but hopefully you will soon!

There's only one way to get the car, at least as far as I know, and that is to purchase the car from the Xbox Store for $2.99 USD.Has there been any word on how to get the GT if you've started playing after the giveaway? I want to participate but it won't let me as I don't have access to the car.
I think that's silly that people have to pay for a car that others got for free. Especially having to use said car in a timed event that many people will be participating in.

It doesn't even give me the option to purchase it though and isn't listed in the DLC section. I'm surprised T10 would overlook the fact people may have bought the game between the giveaway and this round of the championship.
I posted a message on their Facebook page, hopefully I hear something back.

Yeah. I read the post about using the Focus. For some reason, my account details are not saving. So, unable to do the TT. Hopefully I can use an alternate car in another TT, before the FRC is over.
This poor Brazilian dude I was racing with for the last couple hours has the worst luck ever almost.
Dude drives clean, doesn't cut, always pulls aside as soon as he safely can to avoid the first corners nonsense and yet nearly every race somebody some how manages to screw up in a way to take him out.
When he doesn't get taken out and be forced to pit he usually finishes directly in front of me or one further.
In other news I've been getting consistent 11th place finishes or better! Much better to the 17th place average when the Championship started. I'm actually feeling a lot more confident driving through traffic now as well as being quite a bit more assertive then when I've started, I actually have the balls to attempt to pass and use pressure to make them **** up.
Also, free NASCAR DLC! Was looking forward to trying that track lol.
