So I got home, switched my XBOX on, and found the Escort and TWO Falcons in my inbox. Wow...was I a winner of that photo competition or something?

Very first time with the League thing. I must say, the connection was better than the Gran Turismo Lobbies.
First race at Bathurst. Started next to last. Me and the player next to me just stopped at the first corner. Watched the carnage and sailed through.
Then, I made sure not to pass any other cars. Just to pace myself. But, noooooo. A spinner decides to wait for me to get along side, so I give him/her room and BANG! Finished 8th.
Second race at Spa. I start in Pole. Turn 1 I purposely go way left and sure nuf, 4 cars crash one another. For the remainder of the race, I hang back not passing another racer. When I get a clear pass, he moves over and takes me out. Another player catches up and shadows the moving road block. My wife is watching the race as sees how the road block stays on the racing line for a third of the lap. Then, yep, it happens. While the other player goes to overtake cleanly, BAM!. They both go spinning off. I pass to claim 3rd.
I'll give the League races a thumbs up. I didn't think I'd like it. That XY is too good to miss so, I guess I had no choice before FH3, to try it.

This weeks league is really bad. I did a race earlier at Rio, and there was a huge crash going around the turn 2, took literally everyone out, and only a few cars got away with little amounts of damage. The Mustang league was way better, much cleaner racing (for me at least), and generally more enjoyable. I hope the GTLM league next week will be like that.

I really looked close at the 2 Falcons to see if they were different liveries, but they were the same, removed one so I could use the manufacturer paint on it, looks so good with the stripes.

You get the Escort from the Elite series (rivals event), and the Falcon from the Open series (league racing). Bare minimum is one lap in rivals or one race in the league.

I managed to do some races and your right it is hell cars all over the place but I think I have done enough to get the Falcon

Just did a league race in the Formula Ford and I actually found it better than last week. The car handles way better than I expected and aside from a huge crash at T1 the race was surprisingly clean. This was at Lime Rock Alt as well, one of my least favourite tracks. I went to record it though and because of the time it takes to open GameDVR and record 5 mins I dropped from 4th to 11th on the final lap. Got up to 9th by the end of the race. The. There was long beach where I started 3rd and got caught up in the pileup but managed to get back up to 6th before being disconnected on lap 2
Best finish yet at 8th out of 24 at Alps Full Reverse. At the first turn 6 car pile up, after the tunnel another 6 car pile up, up the hill someone randomly lost control and went face first into the wall, a couple guys pitted at the end of the first lap and I managed to pass another racer per lap.

Had to do a few league races today as I was at 68% in the standings and every single race I did started in absolute disaster. Got up to 43% by the end of it.
Every single race I did, except the last one, started with me being caught up in a crash on the first lap and being put into the back half of the grid, and most of the time it wasn't even my fault. First up was Prague Reverse, which, after a few more spins (mostly caused by other players) ended up with me in 5th place. Then it was Silverstone International, where I was put into a slide by someone who spun and I brushed the tyre wall with my front wing which put me in a spin towards the nearby sandtrap. Ended up in 10th by the end of that one.
Next up was Monza Junior, where I narrowly avoided being spun in the first 2 turns, before a spinning car clipped my rear wheel and sent me into a wall on the next straight. Next up was Sonoma which was my best race of the night. Started at the back and had a spin on turn 1 after being hit by 2 cars. Luckily, everyone else (except the leader) spun on turn 2 and I got up to 2nd, and I stayed there for the whole race.
My last race was at Le Mans Bugatti and looked to be very similar to Sonoma. I avoided the T1/T2 pileup and got up to 2nd by the end of lap 1. Over the next few laps I gradually caught up to the leader and when I caught him, and accidentally hit his car on the first turn of the final lap, he rammed me of track allowing someone else to take an easy win. I still don't know why he rammed me as he was on the inside for the next corner and I gave him plenty of space leading up to it. I finished 3rd while he was 2nd.

Yeah Rivals is too, it looks to be open at first til you select it. Ah well, will wait for week 3 to open and be patient for those exclusive cars. I keep an eye on the news section but still seem to miss a lot of these events somehow, glad I've caught this one
