from Famine's post some pages back about the lineups I'm gonna go with the 5th one that includes the CTR2 and CT230R and the G37, so I can have a fair race. My main weakness will be the straights, just liek the race with the Giulia in your fan fic...
Good luck, should be close and interesting.

yeahhh no Civic Type R, the thing is very good in the turns indeed but I was killed in the 2km straight (from 2nd less than a second behind the leader to dead last 20 seconds behind)...

About the lineups... Famine sayed that the 2nd lineup would have the S2000 GT1 Turbo, 3rd the R8 LMS and the 4th both... strange was that the S2K Turbor appeared in the 2nd and 3rd lineups and the one with the G37, CT230R and the RUF (5th lineup was my fourth..)... I do believe now that there isn't a rule about the lineups (taking out the 1st and 2nd one)... they're are randoms as they can be...

For my next run, after doing some testing I think I'll try the RUF BTR '86, with the following specifications (all tuning is reversible):

538BHP
1180kg
455.93BHP/tonne
557PP
RS Tyres

The tuning is a lot. A rear wing with max rear downforce keeps the car more in control, shame about the front. I also fitted everything to the car to increase power (except Engine Tuning Stages 1-3), including a High RPM Range Turbo Kit. FC Transmission with max speed of 199 (more like 180mph), and a FC LSD. :)

I did a lap just now in 8:56.646. Unless the car uses fuel and tyres like there's no tomorrow it should be capable of beating all except the S2000 GT1 Turbo and the R8 LMS. Obviously also being an old 911 it will try and kill me. ;)

LOL I'm sure the BTR will give you plenty sideways fun. But if your fastest laptime is 8:56 you won't make a chance on victory, afaik..

I forgot the Sports ECU. After adding that and giving it another go I did an 8:48. Depending on economy it should do well.

FYI, the fastest lap for my Viper was 8:44, and that pitted every 3 Laps for 52L and tyres (not tested the BTR, but I imagine it'll need to pit every 3 or 4 Laps) by around a minute over the S2000 GT1. I admit it won't beat the R8 or the Turbo, so if I get them I'll refresh the AI until they're not there. :)

I was trying a Giulia TZ2 completely stock but it wasn't fast enough. With max downforce, full power and Racing Softs it could beat the CTR2 and because it's so light the tyres would last long enough to keep yourself pitting at sensible times. ;)
Doing stock settings laps with RS Tyres at around 9:52. So unless that Turbocharger and downforce can give an extra 30-40 seconds it'll be too slow to use. However, I only used 13L to do 2 Laps, 6.5L/lap is the best economy I've seen in a car. :) Oh and the car is so easy to drive and I love the gear changes. I could drive it for hours (hint hint). 👍

If I can pit every 6 Laps and only put in 40L per stint (taking around 1 minute per stop) that's 4 stops for 3:30-4:00 in the pits, as opposed to say 6 stops at 40 seconds each being 4 minutes in the pits. It'll be close, but like I've said before I absolutely love the car.

I'll try again with the Turbo and max downforce added, though it drives so well I'm not sure it really needs the downforce. :sly:

UPDATE: With max downforce and a High RPM Range Turbo fitted, the car has 249BHP but because it only weighs 620kg it is now still easy to drive but also scary if you hit the curb. :scared: However, even after a terrible lap I still did it 9:25, which is even better because I need to change the transmission which can give a few more seconds. Therefore it may be possible to get 9:10 out of this car.

In conclusion, if you want an authentic racer that can win this race, use this. I love the car, but my personal preference is without the turbo as it feels more fun and easier to drive.

I'm 2 hours and 16 minutes and 15 laps into a race with an LFA. Everything is stock except R1's. It comes to 565 HP, 1480 kg, and 545 pp. Fastest lap so far is 8'48.292 and I'm leading by 36 seconds over the S2000 GT1 '04. Lead should be greater but it is twitchy at high speeds if I clip the grass, therefore I have a few spins. I have pitted every 5 laps for tires and I think 65 liters of fuel but I will check on that. Very enjoyable and comfortable ride so far. I will update when I finish in the morning.

Very curious how this goes. I did a couple of test laps with the LFA and found it to be very twitchy on sports tyres. Felt it needed a rear wing but unfortunately not possible. Keep us updated!

No they aren't.

There are multiple different lineups but they are preset. If you boot the console up and go straight into the race you'll encounter the lineups exactly as they have been logged in this thread. If you do something else before going into the race - even including going to your garage and fiddling with settings - you won't, but even those lineups are preset too.

I have, for instance, discovered a lineup which has no Amuse S2000 Turbo, no R8 LMS, no HPA TT, no HKS CT230R, no Amuse S2000 and no Ruf CTR2. If I do the same thing then skip the same number of lineups (which are all identical to previous attempts) I get this same lineup.

Even the colours of the cars are the same in every lineup.

I reckon my next attempt will be with the Alfa. It'll certainly be tough as even with max downforce, RS Tyres and 249BHP with a High RPM range Turbo my best lap is still around 9:15. If it doesn't work I'll just use the RUF BTR, which I reckon has a high chance of winning but I want to see how the Alfa will fare.

I finished first in my LFA with racing hards as my only performance or part upgrades. I finished 27 laps in a time of 4 hours 6 minutes and 16 seconds. Second was the Amuse S2000 GT1 '04 followed by the HPA FT565 and then the HKS CT230R, all with 26 laps. My best lap was 8:45.945 on lap 18. I pitted every 5 laps, mainly for rear tires and took on 63-65 liters of fuel. At the start of lap 16 I pitted with a 36 second lead while the S2000 waited one more lap. A questionable decision, as I came out behind 17 seconds but finished the lap with a 49 second lead.

The car was a very easy drive. It felt very neutral and did everything I wanted it to do. It felt stable under braking and the only time I had issues was when I caught the edge of the grass, causing it to spin. I did think the final result would be closer than it was, but I also drove much better the second half, helping to increase the lead to a comfortable margin.

Below are race notes I took each lap:

I never though that changing cars could change entirely the lineup hahaha

I'm thinking of logging all the different lineups you can get in this race up to a certain point, after a console reset, entering the Nurburgring 4h and nothing else. This way you can get an idea of what you can come up against in the races and also get a race with an ideal lineup. Watch this space...or the next one I make anyway. :indiff:

I've just had a sudden moment of insanity. How about using the CTR "Yellow Bird" for 4 Hours? I've never actually tried it but I hear it's hard to drive. For 4 Hours my muscles may collapse, but I'm willing to try it as soon as I find one in the UCD and have enough after trying with the Alfa and the BTR. Hoping to try with the Alfa sometime this week. :)

How about using the CTR "Yellow Bird" for 4 Hours?

I picked one up today. It isn't as wild as I thought it would be, apart from it sliding in every corner, but there is a reason why the AI pits with it every 3 laps.

LOL I tryed a Peugeot 206 Rally Car, and the car is great ! Tires can be saved up to 5 laps (Racing Soft) and it just 10L per lap! Lap around 8.50.xxx range, but still the S2K Turbo open like 20-25 secs per lap...

Speaking of Rally Cars, what about the Stratos Rally Car? I tried a normal Stratos but it was lapping way too slowly. :(

never though about it... why nobody ever uses those rally cars apart from dirt/snow races? they are so fun in the tarmac!

I still haven't started a race with the 460PP Evora, but I do know I need to drive laptimes in the 8:4x range in order to beat the R8 LMS and the S2k GT1 Turbo. At 460PP the Evora consumes about 51 liter fuel for 6 laps. My fastest laptime so far is 8:39. Quite a fast car !

Will try the Yellowbird for 5/6 laps.. stock + RS tyres ?

Right then. Here are the first 23 lineups you will get, after a console reset, doing nothing else but the Nurburgring 4h itself. Fastest cars, according to average laptime, are put in bold. Colours are also included for no real reason, as they never change anyway (per lineup). Eventually I might also put in the projected finishing order depending on average laptime, but no one knows what the YellowBird's is for starters and it would be more time consuming right now. More lineups will eventually be coming as well.

Right then. Here are the first 10 lineups you will get, after a console reset, doing nothing else but the Nurburgring 4h itself. Fastest cars, according to average laptime, are put in bold. Colours are also included for no real reason, as they never change anyway. Eventually I might also put in the projected finishing order depending on average laptime, but no one knows what the YellowBird's is for starters and it would be more time consuming right now. More lineups will eventually be coming as well.

Thanks very much, I was setting out to do the same, to find the "perfect" line up with as much competitive cars as possible on one grid.

So far I found the very first grid rather good, only the RUF CTR missing but no rabbit and 6 cars within the same bracket of ~ 9:17 to 9:21:

HKS CT230R '08 - 09:17,69 - 09:18,30
HPA FT565 Twin Turbo Audi TT - 09:18,35 - 09:18,46
Amuse S2000 GT1 '04 - 09:18,65 - 09:21,23
Nismo Fairlady Z Z-tune (Z33) '03 - 09:19,04 - 09:21,92
Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 Base '00 - 09:19,39 - 09:20,77
Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 Base '06 - 09:21,54

with some variation in observed average laptimes to keep things a bit interesting.

Thanks for that info. Looks like my Alfa may have trouble keeping up, as currently my flying laps are around 9:15-9:20, I'll check again later to see if I can get any more out of it. Otherwise I'll just use the BTR. :)

On a 5 lap stint I usually do 6 test laps to get a good average and try to account for the lesser fuel taken on the final stop. Quite time consuming but I can't do the full race ATM anyway.

With the DS3 I usually use tcs 2 now as I just can't preserve my tyres well enough and it really helps. Time to get that bloody racing rig finished so my G25 sees some action again.

Okay after testing it in race conditions, the Alfa simply can't win this race. It can keep up with Skylines but not the TT, HKS or other fast, top-end cars. Average laptimes are around 9:20-9:25 excluding pitstops. Such a shame. Though as I kept saying to myself, don't hate the Alfa, hate the competition for beating it! :grumpy: It's great in the corners, but the straight-line acceleration is lacking, even with the added power from the Turbo. If anyone wins with the Alfa please send me your setup, particularly gear ratios, as that's the main thing I'd be looking for.

Next up will be the RUF BTR-R '86. :)

Do you think it could beat the Amuse S2000 GT1 '04? If so, there is a lineup where that's the fastest car.

Technically speaking you should just be able to beat it in some cases according to average laptimes.
