I will look into the revised rules as soon as I get a moment, but I'm interested in seeing how you guys think rival events will help to keep races cleaner.

The replays if anyone has them can speak for themselves. At least one incident I had to deal with involved one of our fastest rival event hot lappers. viLe styLe got taken out at the beginning of one of the races by the same offender. I also noticed that guys who fairly hold down the racing line get rewarded by dirty overtaking. Yesterday I had one guy spin out or crash and then try to back up his car into the middle of on coming traffic.

Not neccesarily a way to keep the races cleaner, rather a way to have similar skill levels competiting against one another.

Yes that individual certainly did take me out right off the line. Did you notice me rage quit? Lol. Frustrating. That backed into oncoming traffic incident might have been me as well, I am not sure. All I know is I got taken out the race prior to said incident and got spun around so bad I did not know where I was at. But you would think that when you try to pass someone twice, they block and force contact to hold position, they would eventually just let you around them. Nope. They would rather race dirty. Fine with me, now we have strict rules. I will not hesitate to drop individuals who choose dirty tactics.

What races were they?

Fairly certain I saved a couple.

The races last night in which Chris was host. Couple on Laguna Seca and Road America. I know who the individual is that took me out at Seca, interesting thing is he is not on the roster.... I will have to look into that...

But what is in the past is past. We wont punish anyone for anything prior to the establishment of the regulations. With that said, if you do have those replays I would like to know what individual it was that chose to put me into a wall before turn 1 on Road America. Simply so I can know who and what we are dealing with. Especially since we have members stating that this is a habit of his. If you find out just pm me.

Unfortunately I left before Road America so I don't have that replay(damn need to sleep).

Any idea what time the races will be on Saturday? I have to work late so I won't be available during the afternoon.

Around 2PM EST. Chris was going to announce the qualifying event tomorrow, which would be open until then; but someone let the cat outta the bag on that one lol. More to come soon just check back later for specifics.

I'm off to bed as well. Have "very important classes" I must attend. Even though I will retain maybe 3-5% of it in 5 years time. College. What a waste of money. Rant over.

When I saw that happen to you it kind of pissed me off because the same exact thing happened to me on Saturday, and it automatically ruins your chances to even try to place podium in a race . In my case the person who did it was kind enough to apologize and explain what happen, and I hold nothing against them for that incident. The races on Sunday were very dirty in comparison to the ones I joined on Friday and Saturday, and the vibe out on the track didn't feel as friendly and inviting to me. It felt like I had to keep watching my rear view mirror instead of concentrating on the track ahead of me, lol.

Currently working on a livery for a car. I'm planning to make it dominate S-Class. Also going to scheme up a tune for it as well.

Announcement:

There will be a qualifying run for this Saturdays club racing that will start tomorrow morning at approximately 10am est (GMT -5) and run until Friday at midnight est. I will post all info on how this will work tomorrow morning.

Am I to take it that only 16 players will be able to take part?
With a club potential of 100 members that would seem harsh.

May I suggest a work around that allowed 24 players to run in a series I ran in F3.

Have qualifying to seed players into lobby's as per your ruling.

Host multiple lobbies with dedicated lobby leaders.
Basically you all run the same race.
Each driver is responsible for writing down there times after the race. (Replays are saved anyway so shenanigans are out, just helps the lobby leader write down times quicker).

After all lobbies are finished times are compared across the whole field.

Example. I finish 5th in my lobby with an overall time of 20:24.xxx.
However lobby 2 had a person finish 8th with a time of 20:23.xxx.
Therefor my actual position is 14th. (it's not complicated).

We used to have a Wednesday night race each week.
Lobby times were submitted to the organiser by a Friday 8pm for example.
It allowed a certain flexibility across timezones.

We actually had promotion and relegating too.
A series would last for 4 weeks. at the end of the series bottom 2 in lobby dropped down to the lobby below. Made for balancing the lobby's and keeping same skill together. Promotion as well.

Just a few ideas.

I've only shared my F200 Aygo and D350 Miata since they were built for track-duty... though I don't know my way around the tuning options too well yet.

Perhaps we could incorporate a small designator into the FMP logo? A small bubble or something to signify which of the three it could be... thoughts?

I'm down for anything that designates designed use of the vehicle. Just a letter for each designation hidden in a specific place seems like it would work.

BTW - Your F200 Aygo worked great for me in Rivals mode. I think I improved my lap time by a second the very first time I used it and almost 2 seconds overall.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

I am happy to announce the plan for weekly (2pm est) Saturday club racing. Every Tuesday I will announce a specific Rivals event which includes traffic to be used for qualifying. This qualifying event will start immediately upon announcement and will end on Fridays at midnight est. This method of qualifying rewards clean and fast drivers. The top 12 in the event will be invited to race, the remaining 4 spots will go to whoever gets in first when I send the full club invite however club leaders are entitled to the 4 provisional spots first. This method of qualifying will both help the club's ranking, give us a method of qualifying, and give us cleaner racing on Saturdays.

We are going to start with just 1 room since I was never able to completely fill a room this past weekend. The most we had was 12 and that only lasted a couple races. 7-8 seemed to be the average. In the future we may open this up to 2 rooms each hosted by a club leader (which would double the numbers above) if we have allot of participants and requests over the next couple weeks for it.

Races on other days and times will still be done at random for those that are not clean or quick enough to get in Saturdays events. I will probably have another round of racing for all club racers at around 6 or 7pm est.

This Weeks Qualifying

Rivals Mode > Track Days > Road America

Restrictions are: Car class A ; Country USA (I have noticed that people have been able to use Acura and Lexus so whatever is allowed to enter will be fine.)

Qualifying starts now!! I will post the winners after the midnight deadline on Friday.

What is Saturdays race?

Its Saturday racing. Just several races for the winners of the qualifying. In the future we may make it 1 longer race with a points system but for now I want to test things out and see where this goes first.

Got my CSR E Pedals a day early, yesterday! Hooked up the gas and brake pedals and the little controller directly to my PS Evo cockpit. It went pretty smooth considering. I had to make a bigger hole on the circuit board to 3/16" so I can get it to fit a bolt that fits my seat. Quick trip to Lowe's took care of that. The way they designed the pedals is actually quite genius and simple; very easy process.

Played FM4 for about 30 min yesterday and like in FM3 they make you brake, THEN turn...so that's gonna slow my learning curve  Still great fun tho.

What if we qualify for the race, but aren't always able to race on Saturdays because of work or family obligations? This will be the case for me from time to time.

Then the spot will go to one of the first people to accept the random invite like the 4 spots at the bottom. So basically in this case there would then be 5 spots.

Will the race on Saturday, for those that qualify, require the new logo to be on their cars?

Not yet. If we start doing a point system and championship standings (which I would like to implement eventually) then that will definitely be a requirement along with car numbers.

Since qualifying is restricted to class A, I take it that the races will be focused around class A as well?

Running stuff at random is fine when the racing is less strict, but if we are looking to prepare the way for something more serious, it would help to know ahead of time what classes we will be running so people can have enough time to tune up their rides. Everytime we've raced so far I've been stuck driving stock cars from the games garage.

I agree. I think everyone would be more comfortable driving a car they have tuned and tested in a particular class.

Once we get into a championship format then yes, it will most likely be 1 longer race(maybe 20 laps depending on track length, with hopefully 1 pit stop). It will most likely with the same track that was used for the qualifying and same class.

For now it will still be just random. I will just be using these first couple weeks to gauge interest and go from there.

Yea a couple of weeks minimum most likely. People are still putting time into World Tour mode. After most are done with the offline stuff it will be all about rivals and online racing. By then most of the club should be ready.

Whenever you decide to start planning something more serious, let me know. I've done a few organized leagues in the past and may have some good ideas to throw in there when the time comes.

Thanks, will do. 👍

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I've made a very basic number plate with the FPM logo(without the 30 obviously).

Message me if you want it or search FPM Plate on the storefront(it's free).

Will make one for classic cars as well if anyone wants one.

Reminds me of those number plates in Gran Turismo. I will pm you on LIVE the next time I get on so you can send me one too, if you don't mind.

I would be willing to sport that. As long as I get my membership request fulfilled.
