First try I get to 2:01.712
I have a 2:10.331 dirty by the Forza system, might be ok though.

Is a lap always good if it doesn't get flagged in game or could it be bad still? From what I've read it seems like a dirty lap in game could be clean, just not sure if it can work the other way.

It can definitely work the other way.

Like T-12 said, even if the system flags your lap with one of those /!\ as long as you have at least two tires on the track/rumble strips for the entire lap, it'll be clean by our standards.

We discussed this a bit and thought overall the penalty system is too strict and invalidates laps that don't need to be and we felt it might discourage participation via frustration.

Leaderboard Updated too.

Damn, I overlooked this, the second I saw the dirty lap indicator I discarded that lap, I would've easliy been .5 sec faster if it wasn't for this oversight. I'll remember it for next time.

No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible

I've probably overlooked this but as we are submitting a replay with multiple laps, does the contact with objects only matter for the fastest lap or are we allowed to move objects out of the way on previous laps? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean.

If you collide with any object your lap is invalidated, however, if what you're asking is will your lap continue to be invalidated should you collide with the same object again (the one you've already hit that is now an on-track obstacle) then the answer is no.

Well this brings up the first corner in question. Is a lap clean if you hit the cones? Because those cones are on a chicane/rumblestrip. And by the standards above (if I am reading correctly) that would mean the lap you hit the cone would be invalid but every other lap the same session, where you take the same path, would therefore be legal??

I think it´s clean lap, at least the ingame dirty lap indicator doesn't show up when u hit those cones, just use them as a bowling practice and take them out on your first lap :)

Great question about the cones.

Basically we see the cones as 'being in our way'. So long as you have at least two tires on the rumble strip/tarmac at turn one, consider your lap clean. Taking them out lap one is a good idea because your tires aren't even warmed up yet so you may as well, right?

To clarify what we mean by object visible or invisible, that's more for concrete walls on the outside of the tracks (in GT there are some crazy stupid invisible walls *rolleyes*). HTH.

This is what I meant, sorry for my bad explanation. Thanks for answering as well, I just wanted to make sure I'm sticking to the rules rather than guessing and then finding out my time is invalid.

I should be able to get some good times this weekend. I have one run I saved just to have a good ghost to chase and its somewhere around the 2:01.xxx mark.

I should be able to break 2:00 easily, its just seeing how much lower than that I can go.

Initial impressions of the car are that while it handles pretty dang good, the top end is highly lacking. I sort of wish we chose one of the smaller Hockenheim tracks for this week but alas, we will make it work.

I really gotta get back in this car and on this track! I've been playing a bunch of Forza lately, but haven't been trying to improve my time for this week. :P

This is hard track, especially the first corner and the righthand corner before the last of the bends before finish line is crucial to get it right so u can carry the speed , don't know what gears you guys are using but i only use 2:nd after the long boring strait (time to have a sip of beer..) otherwise i use third or fourth gear except the boring strait

Hey! No fair, I want beer! :P

2:01.943...but I will be honest and say that Forza claims it was dirty (though I disagree)....having a killer time with the hairpin...just can't seem to find a good line through it.

....having a killer time with the hairpin...just can't seem to find a good line through it.

At the moment I've found the best way through the hairpin (assuming we're talking about the one after the long curve) is to start braking just after the second braking marker and downshift to second, then turn in while letting the car roll to the apex and you should just be able to go full throttle once you hit the apex, or if you're struggling to keep it in the boundaries then try and keep traction by gradually applying the accelerator. I don't know if assists make much difference but I'm driving with everything off and manual with clutch. Sorry if my explanation is terrible.

I just got me a 1:58.228 using a controller, i think i could push into the 1:57's with a few more 10 min sessions. I really want to get wheel setup but i just cant at the moment. I know i could go alot faster if i did.

I found some time to rune a few laps this morning. I have a 1:57.827 now I am not sure I can improve on it. Might get a few more laps in but will not have a lot of time this weekend.

Good Luck everyone.

I got better today, down to 1:59.973

I can get more just depends on whether it'll be clean.

So basically if your lap starts with the indicator its no good. I'm guessing that'll be on the honor system as I couldn't see any way to tell in the replays as there is no indicator on the times in them.

It is obvious that the organizers have put a lot of effort into this race series, and I appreciate that.

But...so far, 3 out of 3 races, the cars have been stock. Since I don't like driving stock cars, I will have to bow out.

They will change in the future I think.

I however like the idea of running stock. I lose by enough as is and to add the tuning factor in just makes it worse. After a while it gets frustrating. Like I'm driving my van with 155,000 miles and you're in a Vette. What's the point. You'll win every time. I would think after the first few times it would get boring. Like arm wrestling your little sister.

Now we could drive the same car and tune. Then I don't mind getting beat. It gives me a yardstick to compare myself to. Just like the leaderboards.

Getting better got a 1:59.160

and then a 1:58.871, just not sure if it's clean. kinda over the rumble and into the green after the first turn.

That thought has crossed my mind, but there is no way to ensure everyone uses the same tune.

I just did A lap well under 1:58 it only took about 100 laps to get that lap in
first corner and the second hairpin gave the most trouble

The closest thing i can think of to be able to achieve that situation would be for the organizers to pick a car and make a specific tune for it, then gift/sell it for 1000cr to all participants registered in the FRS Qualifier to use for the event, then nobody would be able to change the tune without discarding it. Maybe that would work, but it could get very complicated or people may be able to suss out how to match the tune but tinker with it to make it suit they're driving style. Just a suggestion that could be looked at for future events really. Also im pretty sure that most of us that take part in the FRS have got more than enough cr to buy whats needed for the event.

On a different note, id like to update my current time, im now at 1:57.970 on lap 5 but i would appreciate it if someone could check out my replay to confirm that it's all good (if thats allowed..?). I nudged 2 cones of in turn 1 which flagged up the DL indicator then ran a tiny bit wide on the way out but i still had 2 wheels on the track/rumble strip on both occasions. The rest i can confirm is fully clean from reviewing my replay.

Any help on this would be great, i just don't want to submit a time that could potentially get disqualified.

Thanks guys.
