I tried a dark red and wasn't sold on it, black doesn't work either but it was a neutral colour just to show how they layout was
If you wouldn't mind, could you try 2 things with your current design.

1. Change the circle DOT in .net to a square
2. Try the base color like you had it originally (blue). I like it in blue.

Also if you (keep) the black base, try adding a white Gradient #28 behind the FPM logo just enough to emphasize it.

@Hamster-Good idea on the googledoc, will get it done. As for choosing 3 cars and voting on one for the next race, fabulous, will update in final details. Also, what is enginecist?

Oh I was just poking fun at the fact we didn't have any rotary races last season. We only used piston engines. Like racist but "enginecist". :D

Also on the template, are those the regular numbers? If not, are you going to send out the numbers?

Attention

The FPM spreadsheet now has a Sponsor tab where you can enter your sponsor of choice. If there are any dilemmas over duplicate sponsors from members, handle it like gentleman.

I'm arming my cars with this season's sponsor....a lot of work ahead!

If jimbo is happy enough to have this as the placard then I'll put it on my storefront tonight with the numbers removed

Yes please :) (and please unlocked, so I can change the borderline color (for a different livery or something))

I think it would be best left locked, that way it looks more uniform with all cars having the same colour placard, but it's up to Jim :)

If its locked, we can't place our own number in it so, yeah.

You can still place your own numbers on top of the plate if it's locked...you'd only need an unlocked version if you're going to modify the plate. Oops, tree'd by Fezz.

Right now I prefer it locked for uniformity reasons. I like the idea of our club having the same placards as our liveries will all differ from one another. Thanks Fezz for the upload, looks good.

Hey guys, can I somehow rename this thread? I thought we could start planning next season already if some suggestions and things to be improved come up! :)

edit: something which I just thought of: even though I like close and even racing, I kinda miss the variety we had during first season. Using the car that suited you in the qualifications was fun, for me at least. It was fun to see guys using many kind of cars to get the best performance possible. What do you think? Using same cars is always a better test of skill, yes. But we're mostly about fun, right? :)

Also, we may have to rethink our points system. Getting points out of qualifications and then starting in that qualification order makes the difference between front and back runners huge. We may have to ditch the qualification points altogether or scratch up a new system...?

Yes. To rename a thread just click the "edit" button in one of the posts and then click the "go advanced" button...from there you can change the title of your thread. I suggest that Forcone and Fezz have to give everybody a 30 second head start at the beginning of every race to make it fair. :D *EDIT* I kinda like your idea about running different cars...but how would you decide who runs which cars? Jimbo could pick 3 similar performing cars and 1 of those cars will be just a little better than the other 2. If the fast guys run one of those cars, we'll have even more lopsided races. We'd have to make sure the slower guys were running the faster cars to make it more balanced.

Do you guys think its possible to have 2 different cars in the same class that are close enough of a matchup where it doesnt create an advantage for one or another? For example; Evo vs WRX.

I think it could be done but it would take some work and testing from more than one club member. For example: D class at Sebring Club. The Spark is probably the leaderboard car there, holding the majority of the first 100 or so spots...but you probably have a few Lotus Elans and Citroen C1's not far behind...then you'll have something like the Aygo a little further down the board. The slower guys would run in the Spark, the guys that are faster would run in the Elan or C1, and Forcone and Fezz would use the Aygo. Something like that....just an example. That would make for closer qualifying and racing.

Can't we use the sandbag system like in BTCC? But then in points.. First place qualifier -5 points (so like in A class his max is 595), second place -4 and so on..

That would work Carlos, but I think me, Forcone, and Chris were trying to come up with a way of running different cars in the same race to make things more interesting...but we would definitely have to handicap the faster guys to keep the races closer. The sandbag system would work too with different cars, we'd just have to test both or all 3 cars to figure out how many points each car/driver would gain or lose from their build....based on car performance and driver skill.

Sandbag idea seems interesting! I think we could and should give that idea a bit of thought!

That PI thing Carlos mentioned could be easily implemented. Then it would be just a matter of matching every other aspect to that (qualifying points? grid order?).
