Do you guys think its possible to have 2 different cars in the same class that are close enough of a matchup where it doesnt create an advantage for one or another? For example; Evo vs WRX.
I love the idea of different cars on track, the problem is that one car always seems to be the better choice. So it probably just mean more testing before we all race the same car anyway :boggled:. Although this might not be as bigger problem with 'stock' cars?
I think the week of qualifing, in the cars we race, has made the racing a lot more predictable. Last season, nobody knew each others cars until the race started. That made for more interesting races IMO. Maybe going back to using any car to qualify would make race day abit more random ;).
Can't we use the sandbag system like in BTCC? But then in points.. First place qualifier -5 points (so like in A class his max is 595), second place -4 and so on..
Great idea, we would probably need -50 Forcone & Fezz though! I'll take the -5 hit ;).
I don't know everyones feelings on production class, but we could combine Chris & Carlos ideas with in this system. We pick a class of car, say sports car in A class. The lower qualifiers can pick any sports car P.I. 590-600, mid qualfiers 580-589, top choose from 580 down.
I bit like the shuffle mode from the other game! :embarrassed:

Is it just me, or has season 2 been a little boring lately? Not a knock on Jimbo's car/track selections...it just hasn't been as fun for me lately for some reason. I don't know if it's because I hate hotlapping or my bad luck in a couple of races or what. I've gotten much better as a driver and have been able to hang with the big boys more often, but something has been missing lately for me. Hopefully some of the changes we make for season 3 and a little break from the game after season 2 will make it fun for me again. :indiff:

You have the "End of the Season" blues.......you (and me) are realizing that you cannot make a Podium finish by the end of the season. Its like when you play football and you know the Championship is out of your reach. But Im hear for you Wiggs...I have faith in you...you can make a difference in the racing world...you can inspire rookies, children and the less fortunate that they might be like you someday....So I say...DRIVE ON WIGGS.....SMALL CHILDREN WILL BE WEARING YOUR NUMBER ONE DAY....YOU ARE A REAL AMERICAN HERO

I admit I am burned out, trying to make everyone happy each week is no easy task and figuring out the points and finishes is one thing I hate most, specially watching the replays only to get to the last lap and have it start over again, UGGGGGGGHHHHHH, maybe stubbing your toe in the dark is worse, not much else.

For me I think it just comes down to the season being too long, 8 weeks is probably good enough. What sucks though is I feel burned out and love S class and above now, so I spent the majority of the season racing cars I do not care for. Oh well, this drifting league Fezz is putting together should ease things.

^ Haha now you see what I was going through. I hated the replay thing too! Then when it starts over you have to hit the skip button over and over until it gets back to the end again which can take awhile on a 20 lap race. :banghead:

LOL, yeah exactly. I started to take a picture of the results post race with my phone but most of the time forget!

This made me LOL.... but even after my mediocre showings the past couple of weeks I still have a shot at a podium finish after dropping my worst finishes of the season. I'd be happy with a top 5 finish in this group of guys.

I know it's a headache for you trying to run things....you couldn't pay me to do it. I do think the season is too long....but with everybody being in different time zones and working different schedules is there another way for everybody to get enough races under their belt to make it fair? I've been working so many hours at work lately that when I do have time to play I just wanna play for fun, not worry about qualifying/building and painting a car for the next race.

I think this season might be a bit too long too :P

I think season 3 should be 8 races with our highest 5 finishes deciding the final standings. Most of us can make 5 out of 8 races. EDIT-Is there anyone else other than me that would like to run a whole season in the lower to middle classes? If we had enough that wanted to run F thru B and enough that wanted to run A thru R1 we could have a multi-class season with 2 champions at the end of the season. 5 multi-class races and 3 bone stock races (in the middle classes to keep it fair) that everybody takes place in to make it interesting during the regular season. Then we could have a one race champion vs champion battle in a middle class (A class?) for the overall championship. If a 2 man race is too boring, we could have everybody take place in the race and the champion that finishes the highest in that race would be the overall champion. Opinions?

I really like this too!

I like it, Wiggs. :) 👍

Sounds very interesting! I like the idea! Would require using mics though, that multi-class racing!

I really like this too!

Thanks guys. Ultimately I guess it's up to Jimbo and Chris to decide if we can do it. I know there's 4 or 5 regulars that would like to run in the higher classes, but we'll need at least 2 or 3 more (besides me and Forcone?) that are willing to run in the lower classes for it to work. Anybody? Maybe we can convince some of the less active members to join some races next season to make it work.

Good idea Wiggs, this will make the races much more dynamic but would like to re-think the 2 man championship idea or hear more details on it.

So if everything works out, would it be possible or should I say reasonable to have the 'Slower' group start at F and go up to B and then have the 'Fast' group start at R1 and go down to A. This would then end with the multi-class race at the end being quite close?

Just a rough idea and of course we can figure out a way to have 8 races instead of 10.

Hmm... I think going from F to B and A to R1 would be better as the speed difference between the classes would be more similar in every race. We'd still see plenty enough lapping, I think..? Just a thought. :)

True. We have a while to toss ideas back and forth so we will iron out the details as the weeks pass.

Which group would you prefer Forcone?

Thanks Jimbo. I haven't really thought it through any more than what I've posted so far. Any input on how to make it happen smoothly is welcome from everybody. It will be more work for you though, so maybe Chris can keep track of one group and you keep track of the other group, and work together to keep everything organized leading up to the season finale. I'd like everybody to be able to race in the group they prefer though, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to break everyone into 2 groups if you can't race in the classes you like....I thought this would be a good way to keep everyone mostly happy....but if nobody wants to race in the lower classes it wouldn't work. Something I'd also like is for us to run more cars that are closer to the top of the leaderboards. No Sparks, but maybe Elans, Pintos, RWD swapped Civics, Gen 1 Miatas...cars that we can put up more top 100 times in. I'd like to see more of our club members taking up top 100 spots.

That is true. Slower stuff, definitely!! I don't have the nerves for the faster classes..

I'm in for this. I just hope Microsoft irons out the mess with the wheels before we start.

Hopefully they fix it before then....we have a while before season 3 starts, but it could still be a problem for the last few season 2 races. I guess we could use the workaround of starting the wheel a few minutes before racing. This seems to work. What group do you wanna race in Chris?

Lower classes but if we need to even things out I don't mind running in the higher classes.

Good. I think we can give each other (and hopefully Forcone) some good competition. If anything I think we'd need more people in the lower classes....me, you, and Forcone is a good start though. You know Fezz, Carlos, and Patrick like the higher classes...not sure about the others. If we could get DC and Hennessey to run in different groups that would balance things out pretty well.

You can stick me in the lower classes if you want. I like the higher classes but Im not very competative in them. Are we still planning on using the sandbag (faster guys take lower PI's)???

I don't think it has been decided yet what it will be. Reverse grid or sandbag are both good ideas.....I guess it's up to Jimbo and Chris. I think so far we'd have Me, Forcone, Chris, and Katpeeler in the lower classes. Fezz, Patrick, Carlos, and probably AVVSOM3 and Jimbo in the higher classes? Not sure where DC and hennessey want to go....and not sure if SilentDrifter and Marmite are gonna race at all. It would be nice to get some more members to take part.

Yeah a test race would be good, the only thing I can see being a problem in the length of the races, too short and the Higher classes are going to be finished in no time, too high and the lower class might not even finish!

Also, it might be best if we do an X amount of minutes qualifying, instead of using the LB's
