One thing I noticed of the "reverse grid" idea was last race (Fezz I think) didnt qualify and had to start at the back...He was in the front before the end of the first corner...So maybe a PI modification would be more "even" through out the race rather than just the first couple of corners......Just a thought

That could only work if Fezz qualified because you can't give people a handicap before they prooved they are 'too' fast.. Or stick to the fact these guys are just better drivers than us. I don't have a problem battling for fifth position..

So if we do an 8 week-season, it would be like this?

F - D
E - C
D - B
C- A
B- S
A- R3
S - R2
R3 - R1

I wouldn't mind doing D tot R1, plus the speed difference isn't too big this way..
 
I agree just a bit hard to police it. I think we have an honorable bunch though so it should work.
Agreed. Plus I would love to have damage set to simulation (to dream) but I think the setting below sim is just fuel and tires so maybe we could incorporate that even though the tires will never wear!

Question regarding pits, would we then have to increase the laps even higher to allow for the pit strategy to work.....not that familiar with pit stops:nervous:.

I don't think you need to necessarily increase the laps. Fuel consumption and tire wear probably wont come into affect with the amount of laps we currently run but just make it mandatory. Make an announcement at the beginning of the first few races to make sure everyone remembers they have to make a stop at some point.
 
The tire wear, at least for racing tires, is crazy. Takes a long time to have to pit for new tires. I've heard using drag tires make the tire wear mor realistic, but I've never tried.
 
You guys are talking about increasing laps but I thought we were doing timed races for the multi-class season.
 
I'm not a fan of timed races nor increasing of laps.

Are we still doing multi-class for the next season? The higher class is gonna finish much faster than the slower class, so how would that work if not doing timed races?

Hmm.... didn't think of that. Does it matter though? Either way the higher class is going to finish a couple laps in front of the lower class.

Yes, but if the races are timed then everyone finishes at the same time....if not then the guys in the higher class will be waiting a few minutes for the lower class to finish.

You sure that's how it works? The lower class doesn't just finish 2 laps down or whatever the case may be?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think your position at the end of the timer is your finishing position in your class. You're only racing against your class so you wouldn't be 2 laps down because the higher class is just sharing the track with you, running a seperate race. Make sense?

Makes sense. I'd just rather have a race to a "finish line" than waiting for a clock to run out. We should test it to see if that's how it works or not.

I agree....we definitely need to test it. I'd rather run a set amount of laps too but I don't know how we can make it work.

I agree. I wouldn't mind having longer races though! The Le Mans race was fun and that was the longest we had!

I don't mind longer either. We just have to keep in mind not everyone has the time to run longer races.
 
I am off tomorrow and will be playing Ghost Recon DLC and Forza if anyone is up for some testing. I will be available until 4pm EST so let me know.

I have already made my Season 3 livery for my cars, it will be universal all season to make it easier so I can spend more time tuning and practicing instead of playing car dress up, LOL.

I'll join! What do you mean by DLC? Is there something new :D ?
 
Yeah the Artic Strike DLC releases tomorrow. 3 new MP maps, new guns and some Co-op additions for 800 points. Only issue is since the latest update I have had some connection issues but we will see.

Also we can test some Forza options.

I should be on around 11am or noon tomorrow.....I'm down for some online racing/testing. @Carlos, longer races wouldn't really work for me.....20 or 30 minutes is really pushing it as far as my available race time goes on Saturday afternoons.

Also for the record, I work every Saturday until 1:30 cst/2:30 est so I most likely will not make any races so that will eliminate me from hosting unless we change the time, up to the majority of course also assuming I was even considered host again?
 
Wiggs, oke that's not alot of time. Let's keep it around 20/30 minutes then.

I'll download the pack, added some credits to download the two latest Forza DLC packs, got got just enough credits left for the GR DLC :D

I've been a bit busy these last few days and haven't been able to get on, but I should make it online later, probably about 2pm for you guys
