I think they did a really good job picking games that should appeal to most gamers. There's something for everyone in there.

Unless you're only interested in racing games or obscure Japan-only RPGs involving hamsters and schoolgirls, that is.

I disagree. Sony could have put Killzone or Killzone 2 in there to appease the FPS crowd (the largest genre of gaming). Instead, they slap in Dead Nation. And didn't Killzone 3 come out just a few months ago? Wouldn't offering the older game help boost sales of the newer game? It would give those who play the likes of Battlefield or Call of Duty a new experience that they might actually like more than their current games.

For the racer, Wipeout HD isn't a bad game, but it could have been Motorstorm. With a new Motorstorm being released this year, offering the freebie would have really been a huge marketing tool to get people to buy the new one.

Super Stardust HD is nothing more than a glitzy mobile game. This is where the European markets luck out. Ratchet and Clank is a perfect offer because a new R&C will be released this year. It's another great marketing idea. I wish it were included in the US offerings because I would snap it up in a second.

I can't complain about the inclusion of inFAMOUS and Little Big Planet. Those are two solid games and they appeal to a huge audience. I know many may already have one or both of these titles, but they do offer variety for everyone.

Since I rarely do anything on-line within games on the PS3, and use the console more for internet browsing than anything else, this situation is pure profit for me. 2 free games, how can you possibly go wrong?!

Anyway, the selection looked rather dull. But I think I'm going for Little Big Planet and Wipeout HD. I'm going for Wipeout HD more for its type of retro graphics than the actual racing. Same goes for Little Big Planet: It's just so different than everything else. Was a tough choice between LBP and Ratchet & Clank, but I highly doubt there's any better version of Ratchet & Clank than the third game on the PS2, which was a fantastic game.

I have Littlebigplanet, so I think i will take infamous and maybe ratchet and clank or dead nation.

are the games for all accounts or just for the main account??

Curious to see if there is an IP check

I recommend doing Zones game mode on Wipeout. Your mind will be blown at the colors. :D

Quest for Booty is a short game bridging the two current-gen R&C's, I wouldn't recommend it over LBP at all, and I'm not really a huge LBP fan (though I certainly appreciate what level creators have been able to do.)

Unfortunately I have all these games already, except for LBP. Not sure if I'm going to download that one since it seems like LBP2 is where it's at now :dopey:

Might as well get it. It's a fun game and it's better than nothing. You could also play it in the time you don't have LBP2 :dopey:

I think it's more then enough. It's alot better then what microsoft gave us a few years ago, when xbox live was down for a couple weeks.

If it hasn't already been reported this is the welcome back choice list for Japan and Asia PSN users. Apparently there has been a backlash on Twitter about how they are getting a raw deal compared to the US and EU and I tend to agree.

PS3 - Choice of 2

The Last Guy
Loco Roco
Buu Buu Cocoreccho!
Infinite Hallyways – Overture
WipEout HD
Hustler King

PSP - Choice of 2

A Brazen Guy for a Hero
Everyone Sukkiri
Potapon 2 Donchaka
Little Big Planet Portable
LocoRoco – Midnight Carnival

I have to say though the last guy was a good PSN game.

No word when any of the store are coming back but Sony has 4 days left to meet its own deadline.

Robin.

Sony should just use the BitTorrent protocol for distributing this kind of thing, would take so much load off the servers.

Okay I'm not really sure what happened here... I attempted to download both of the "Free PS3 Games" (1 and 2) but an error message popped up. After exiting they are no longer available for download. Any thoughts?

Ok so I can confirm now that if you happen to have both NA & Euro/UK PSN accounts you DO get the benefits of the Welcome Back packages for both regions! Yep, 4 full games total. :D I would imagine that is equally true if you have a Japanese account but can't confirm.

On the error messages, keep trying or return later. The servers are getting hammered.

Really? Sweet, I do have a UK & US account. :) Just downloaded my first game Wipeout HD & installed, trying to get Dead Nation now as that looks fun, will get the others on my other account sometime over the weekend, or next week even when the rush has settled down a bit.

Ok now it's acting buggy on me. I am currently successfully downloading WO-HD from my Euro account. Then I logged onto my NA account, attempted to begin downloading LBP and then some error occurred and when I backed out my "Free PS3 Game 1" link is now gone. I then logged back into my Euro account again and now the links for both free games are gone. So I have NO IDEA what this means. Hopefully it is just a traffic related bug that will work itself out.

Anyway I have successfully subscribed to PS+ on both accounts so I still think it should work, but now that I've had this error I guess I might be wrong.

Dammit, stupid error message. [80910D36] and [80023125] if anyone's getting the same ones.
