Man, I've missed a lot these past few days. heated fights, new members and other leaving. dammit now I got to re update my list agaaaaain!

In other news. Happy 4th of the July.

Hi grinders,

I got back from my vacation less than a week ago and my ISP had an outage that lasted a few days so I'm not surprised I'm in the yellow zone (but wow recommending the club to put me to "Never Race" because I didn't remote race during the outage is pretty strict IMHO..this is coming from someone who was from the original grinders club)

I appreciate those that are keeping track and updating the spreadsheet..but perhaps we need to have the more specific rules posted on the initial post (ie exactly when/how someone will be placed into the yellow warning, how long do they have before the will be kicked) and a link of to the spreadsheet.

Anyways I'm obviously back to grinding since this morning.

I am also curious to know how you guys are determing individual members' estimated club members on their PSN friend's list?

I'm sorry. I corrected the first post on this..

I didn't made the spreadsheet,... so,.. yah,..

I hope you aren't too annoyed and keep the good grind.

Welcome back. :)

I created the spreadsheet originally to get something organized here and I think it's working pretty good and we've seen great improvements in activity of grinding among the members.
(Check a couple pages back and you can see what it looked like when I posted the first spreadsheet. :))
The first spreadsheet: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5536538#post5536538

As can be seen in the spreadsheet, some members are away (they posted it here that they'll be on vacation or whatever it can be), and this is ok as posted by Skyle before. We now have a better overview of who is away for a reason, and who is away without anyone knowing why or haven't given a notice. Now, when I created the first spreadsheet I went through the whole thread to see who have posted that they will be away and might have missed your post if you posted it, I apologize for that if I missed it.

It's recommended among the club members to move anyone who haven't raced for 5 days without a reason to "Never Use".
After 10 days the member is marked red and need to take action asap.

Nobody is marked yellow/red if they've given notice that they will be away for a certain time.

"Est. percentage of Club Members" is the % of club members the member races, not how many they have on their PSN-friends list, that is impossible to check. :). The update on this percentage is done manually, and not as frequent as the rest of the information (it takes a few minutes to check the logs..).

Let's grind. :)

lame, i always miss the jerry springer moments. so i have no clue what went down other than the log of who is no longer in the club. :/

I have my grinder set to reciprocate. i have mostly people in the club set to reciprocate. so that, if the program is fuctioning properly, I'll race people who race me.

frason thanks for the explanation. It's okay that you missed my vacation notice (I don't expect anyone to dig through a 50 page thread..and with regards to my internet outage, well, my I didn't have internet so I don't think I was able to post on here)

See I agree with Gabkicks. There is no need to put any club participants onto the Do Not Race option because if they are really away for a couple of days, they don't race your BOBs and your widget won't race their BOB's either (gotta give to take kind of deal with the Reciprocate option). If they are really inactive for weeks then sure kick them off the club and just delete their off your friend's list.

First day done, stuff learned...

Hey hey ;)
since we seem to still be loking for new racers I thought I would post here 2 important lessons learned during my first day.

GT5 grind club for dummies so to say:

1. I had the issue that friends did not show up in my widget. I realized that only EU mates were showing up, so I changed my country to US in the widget settings and everyone started showing up. However this led to problem 2

2. With switching from Germany to US the widget did not know what to do with the German race track code. I kept starting random tracks for the whole day (sorry for that mates :) ).

First day was cool, made about 1 mio. credits and leveled 4 of my bobs from class 0 to 17 and B-spec from 21 to 25.

Thanks guys!

Hello all!
I want to join this club.
All I need is to add all the members and follow the remaining instructions to be in or do I need to do anything else?

I'll be able to host races every night and/or during work, meaning 16 hours a day, most likely. (;

That should be ok I think, Skyle our almighty club boss need to confirm. :)

It isnt a case of you choosing you are going to be in the club more a case of put your name forwards and you might get picked.

I think I am going to ask a couple of questions just to speed things up a bit. How long have you been grinding for?
I know you said the answer to this in your post but honestly how often do you grind for each day? Do you expect that to be an every day occurance?

Last but not least, welcome to the club....... if you get picked :)

I never grinded B-Spec using remote because all my drivers were level 40 before remote races were available, but now I want to grind cash for the sake of having all available cars and I stumbled on this forum section. (;

I plan to at least have my server available 6 hours a day minimum to 16 maximum, let's say 10 on average. (on the last week of July and August, I can leave my PS3 turned on for 24h/day while my vacations last, if that's at all possible)

Well, I hope I get picked. I've already added all of the members on the first post just in case. (:

We get non club members adding us all the time, so i hope no one denies you.

You'll just have to wait for skyle to come on so he can update the first post.
I'll update the spreadsheet.
I'd say your as good as in.
Welcome. :)

This is really interesting to me. I have all the club members +3 "other" friends I grind. I also have the widget set to random, not reciprocate. This way it should pick a little bit of everybody in the club, and not OVER-pick my "other" friends (followed Xochi on this one). Or so I thought. By estimate, about 3 of the 33'ish friends are "other", or 1 in 11. So mathematically, I should never average more than 2 "others" per race. But on the spreadsheet, I'm at 60%. "That can't be right!" I thought, so I went and looked at my race logs and sure enough, the widget is consistently picking my "other" friends, and I have no idea why. It has no idea who is and isn't in the grinder club, but it appears to have a preference to them. I double-checked that I was on random and not reciprocate and I was on random.

I'm considering putting them to always race and set that category to "leave 4 drivers free". Maybe 5. I dunno, that should limit them on a per-race basis, but if they're racing it may not pick them at all. But I don't know, now my faith in the widget's logic is shaken, now that it is consistently picking at random 1/11th of my friends for about 40% of the races.

Dont stress. Its actually a good sign believe it or not.
Its doing this because most of the clubs racers are being used.
So the widget may select 1 or 2 of a club members driver before moving onto the next person. Then when it gets to someone who is no in the club, all their drivers a free so it uses them all.

I think we should be quite lenient with this. Its just in there to make sure a reasonable effort is made to race a majority of club members.
Without it buggs1a looks like he is doing really well, racing frewquently, in reallity tho...

Actually thats a good point, didn't think about it that way. I guess if its picking the "others" over the club because the club drivers are all in use, yea thats a good thing.

Alfa, I will wait for this race to finish then reboot GT5 and the widget so i can get you in my races over night.

And i wont be home to accept for a few hours.
On that note, don't think i ever got a request from you fraggle?

Thank you thefraggle!

I'm still learning the ropes, but I also think I can set up the server overnight for the friends that added me already. Let's hope I do it right. (;

Sorted. I did add everyone at the start but there were a few who didnt come online for about 3 days so i removed the invites. Alfa, you arent showing up on my friends list on the server. I can only assume we are having the normal server issues at sont seeing as you do show up on ym ps3 friends list in the game.

Well, you are on my friend list and on GT5 friends too, but only my old friends show up on the widget friend list even after I restarted.
Maybe it's some kind of sync issue? I guess I'll wait some hours and try again.

Usually, one or two races after adding new mates or deleting old mates, do a "force reauthentication", right click on widget. Works for me most of the time.

How can you leave it on for almost 24/7 for a couple of days or a whole week. Kind of isnt 24/7.
Should be good to have you on board if taken if you grind loads :)

You are aware of Chuck Norris right? .. I'm kinda like him. So when i say 24/7 is a couple of days, 24/7 is a couple of days. Just like the laws of physics is a huge scam !

Still have 2 spots open.

Slight update to the spreadsheet layout aswell.
Bit easier to read, hopefully?

We need more members... 4 races started here this morning with 10 or less drivers.

Not everyone seems very quick with accepting friendship requests. Would be cool is people did that so everyone is in everyone's driver list :)
I am still missing quite some people even though I have seen them racing (hence been online).

What about me?just FYI. I'm not able to grind daily. But when I do it will for probably a few hrs each time or more. Sometimes long time and sometimes not as long. And if I won't for a week or so I will mention it.

I put most in club in always use, haven't finished. I have several non club friends for remote so I'm sharing everyone.

I feel like defending myself for done reason. Maybe cus I don't wanna be dropped yet and am like maybe nervous on if I don't grind enough hrs or whatever.

I'm going through something in my life right now and have doubts about lots of stuff and well, let's just say I'm hmm, can't think of like an insert goofy word here. But ill do my best and hope no one wants to boot me. I'll always be open here with yall. And with what I'm struggling with right now I may not or probably won't feel like posting here daily. I'm having emotional stress and major sadness and major depression issues right now. So things kinda suck for me lately with emotions and stuff. :(

Not attacking or anything, it's our first check up on percentage of club members used per race, and of the 5 races i check, you scored 10%.
I can check again if you think that i may have just picked some bad races?

It's more just to let you know that you need to ajust your grinders setting (and then check how it goes) so your getting... atleast 50% club members? i think thats reasonable?

Your actually amount of grinding is great tho.
