Biggest crowds we've had so far! Unfortunately my internet couldn't handle the extra load and we had some really bad lag a few times. It happened again at the start of the last race, was a mess. Looks like it might be time to finally fork over some cash and rent a proper server.

Good fun was still had though. One race in particular had a pack of 4 of us that battled it out for a good 4 laps or so.

Had to redo my thermal paste, since i did piss poor job cleaning the H100i Block, and the i7 Chip. But now im back to stable idle temps of 27*C - 34*C,
 
OP Updated. This is a really fun track I found the other day. I think since it's a mod track it won't be quite as busy as the last event.

Also, I put up a link to a skin pack for this car in the OP. It's not mandatory to download but it's recommended.

@BrandonW77 , if you slip in first and get my Turner skin, you'll be banned from all future events. :sly: :lol:

Highlands is an awesome track, never tried a virtual version of it though so I'll have to give it a download and see how it looks an feels compared to the real one.
 
hey. sorry I haven't been around much. My son from FL is here in MI all summer ( a few more weeks) so I'm doing stuff with him most of the time (and searching for a job). But he is out of town this weekend so I should be able to come by for some racing!

Maybe. I'm still trying to get the next combo selected for GVRC, so far this week a power outage and a Windows update have thwarted my attempts. :irked:

Yep, happened just as I pulled out of the pits, screen suddenly went blue and it said "restarting for updates". Then the update failed for some reason and had to start again. By the time all said and done it was over two hours later and time for dinner. :indiff:

Don't think so. I've never had it just start going in the middle of a gaming session though. It popped up a little window saying an update was ready and asking if I wanted to restart now or later. I chose "later" and about 10 minutes later it just started going.
 
That'd tick me off to no end, especially mid-game.

I loaded up AC last night to set a control-profile for the SF15T, and that was about it - I probably won't get the DLC until this weekend.

As for presence here & GVRC, work/life have been ruthlessly killing my drive to game during the week, leaving the weekend for occasional sessions if not busy with other things.

Good to see popularity/numbers are doing well for both though.

Well, we've only had 3-4 at GVRC the last couple months. I'm going to get it posted on the AC forums (once I get the next combo figured out), hopefully that will get a few more people on track. If not, I may have to go the Pub Server way like Wiz has.

There's a brand new BTCC mod that looks pretty awesome. I have to assume T7R put a lot of time into this mod so I also assume it drives good (didn't have time to test it, busy this week again). Let's find out together.

I know BTCC doesn't run at Zandvoort, but I'm kinda sick of Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

About time we got some proper BTCC cars (hopefully they're decent). 👍

Did you ever do any more testing with the false starts? The one test I was in had no ramifications for jumping the start, it showed a little graphic on the first lap saying I needed to do a drive-through which I did not do and I still finished in P1 on track and in the results. If that's the case the drive-through option seems useless, I expected it to teleport me to the pits after the third lap or show me on the bottom of the results screen.

Personally, I'm not really a fan of the jump start option anyway. I guess it adds some realism (though I rarely see a jump start in real world racing) but the only real effect it has is to create more gaps in the field and ruin someone's race. I liked the way GT handled it where you would lose power and be ghosted for a few seconds, that way it affected your race but didn't ruin it and other people didn't crash into you while you were serving the penalty. But obviously ghost cars wouldn't work in AC, because simulation value. In a long race with a large grid I'd like the jump start option, but in sprint races with smaller grids I feel it detracts more than it adds. Just my opinion.
 
FYI tonight's festivities will most likely not start until 9:00

Also, this will be my last FNF for a little while. I'm going to be gone 3 out of the next 4 weekends, so I'm just going to take a month or so off, maybe more.

If someone else wants to take over for a while please let me know. I believe the forum software used here allows for the OP author to be changed.
 
Just a head's up, this mod has been removed from RD because apparently all the 3D models are ripped from other games.

It can be found here, but you have to register for the forum and wait for approval from the admin.

I managed to grab it last night before it disappeared from RD (haven't driven it yet though), it's probably not "kosher" but if anyone needs it just PM me and I can arrange it since you might not get forum approval before race time.
 
Ah screw it, we're switching to GT3's at same track.

Change! GT3 tonight! Still Zandvoort.

GT3 are my favorites, so it's a good way to end before my time off anyways.
