I'll be using Saturday's test to narrow down from my 2 cars which i'm going to choose.

Also which track(s) will we be using for Saturday's test?

I'm going to open an Unofficial ToCA test room. Everyone is invited to join. I'll post the room number soon.

Can't wait to race with a load of new people I haven't previously raced 👍

Certainly going to be interesting. I'd say there's a group of around 10 experienced old hands here, and around 3/4 very capable experienced part timers, and the rest fairly fresh and new.

I came here for fun, I normally race in very serious endurance races and of course that made me become faster and better in terms of race craft. In ToCA I'm a lot more aggressive than I usually do in the CORE events.

Of course if it weren't for them I wouldn't be as good as I am now, though taking pole in my first event on GTP was a surprise but lapping cars was a small issue which meant I only got 3rd, but now I know to leave a bit of road to the dirt/grass and be patient.

For me it's all about fun. I'm not interested in 100% serious racing. There's a trick to raing int ToCA - you have to know about the people you have around you on track and know who you can trust. Some you can trust not to go for that gap on the inside. Some you can trust to give you that extra room in the corner. This is no insult on the newer guys from ToCA10, but I found last season some of my best battles were with the old guard because I could 100% trust them on track.

I just remember people who are dangerous to drive with. When I get to a race and I don't remember anyone for a particular reason, then I think I'm alright 👍

Yeah I find that too, in ToCA10 I was worried about being taking out but all in all it was good apart from some moments where people made small errors which caused big accidents along with others not seeing me. Although I had some really good racing in between.

Absolutely, after your series goes past about its 8th or 9th season you seem to have that really solid bunch of guys who you know race well and clean. It's great stuff 👍

It's like that in pretty much every series, after a few races you learn which drivers are more aggressive and which you can race wheel to wheel with confidently. Being new here, I won't drive (driving lines, style etc) any differently than I do anywhere else, but I will probably be a bit more lenient on track racing to start off with, because I know my driving etiquette is being watched more closely.

I do expected though to be treated equally, for example if someone with more experience in this series is behind me, they may think "Oh he is new and slow, I will just aggressively barge past him as quickly as I can". If you wouldn't do that to the more experienced drivers, then you shouldn't do it to the new guys also.

Personally I can't stand overly aggressive drivers, those who just dive up the inside when the slightest opportunity becomes available, most of the time it just leads to an accident. To me this just shows driver immaturity and I lose respect for them.

Obviously being an ITCC man I will be able to closely compare these two series, wonder which I will end up preferring?

Also worth noting is that nobody actually drives like how they do in the test races, in the actual season.

That reminds me, I remember Furi penalised me for an incident in pre-season testing. :grumpy:

Well if he gives out penalties before the season, he won't have to give out penalties during the season :sly::P
