Both of these are a bit interesting because a pair of Vector WX-3 Prototypes were recently auctioned back in January for around $1.2 million and now a rare M12 comes up; car #5 of 14. The former 2 were supposedly still owned by Weigert and this one is out of the Lingenfelter colllection. The Pantera is also interesting because Si's rarely come up as well. I think they are the least popular of DeTomaso's run, but I've always had a soft spot for them. No prices est. yet for anything in the auction, but I don't think the M12 will pull in the $500,000-$600,000 the 2 prototypes did & I'm not sure the mentioned unpopularity of the Si will demand big money. Could be happily wrong.
The FXX however, I'm going to est. $2.5-$3 million. The last 2 that sold went for $1.622m & $1.925m in '15 & '10. This example is supposed to still be "new-in-box" with I believe, 300 miles or so.
The FXX crosses tomorrow alongside the world's first ever Porsche car.
But the Vector failed to sell with a high bid of $120,000. Estimates were $250,000-$300,000, so it came up really short. The Pantera Si however, did find an owner at $240,800 which actually appears to be quite a lot for a Pantera. Original estimates were $275,000-$325,000.
This will be a huge auction in Monterey this year. They have unveiled another crown jewel, chassis #018 McLaren F1 with the “LM Kit”.

I’m estimating $20-$25 million.
Another one:
McLaren F1 with chassis number 18 is going to be sold at the auction of RM Sotheby. With only 21,000 km, a Le-Mans specification upgrades, an extensive spoiler upgrade and I believe that the engine bay is gold plated, is worth more than 20 million dollars.
And the showstopper of the night found a new home and buyer who shelled out $19,805,000 after the 10% buyer's premium. If the new owner is a US-resident, there will be an additional 2.5% premium for EPA certification. I'm actually surprised it managed to sell with an est. of $21-23 million initially. Most of the other cars tonight that were projected to sell over million dollars, failed to meet the reserves and most of these cars were right on the cusp of the minimum estimates: the '54 Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder at $2.7M, the '62 Ferrari 196 SP at $7M, & the Pagani Huayra Roadster at $2.5M . At least one of the other notable cars however, did find a new home alongside the Mac.: the '65 Ford GT40 Mk. I Roadster at $7,650,000,
Fun fact: RM sold this Ford 5 years ago at this very same venue on this night at $6,930,000.

Big surprise of the night came immediately into the auction, though. This 1967 Ferves Ranger was set to sell between $30,000 & $40,000. A bidding war ensued & the little car hammered at $196,000.
