ZR1 is faster by 1 Second over the V-Spec I think, and its on the NUR-RING, it one of the longest tracks, so on a short circuit like the SUZUKA or FUJI, the V-Spec might keep up to .001 of a second behind or even overtake it.

We don't really have an official Spec-V time around the 'Ring. Also, the only ZR1 time was not set with a proper racing car driver.

I think that the ZR1 will lose over a shorter racetrack, as traction will come into serious play.

Anyway, we are getting off topic a bit...

The 2009 GTR (not spec V) Nurburgring time is only 3 tenths off the ZR1's time, both are in the 7'26's.

Sorry for side tracking the topic I do look forward to driving both on Nurburgring (I do believe the ZR1 will be faster)

I am aware of the times. They have worked hard to hone that lap time with the GT-R. They seem to visit the 'Ring quite often...

And I look forward to driving both as well.

Ok, well the American CTS-V smokes the M5 for $40k less.(new sedan "ring" record")

The ZR-1 lap is sloppier than the GT-R. Go USA, lol.
(let the flaming begin)

Impressions after watching both...The ZR1 just sounds like car porn :sly: seemed to be a handfull to handle ,not awful just a little twitchy.

The GTR seemed so sanitary, and quite, made me think I could drive it  not that quick tough. Looked like it could have been quicker.

The ZR1 would be so much more fun though, cant wait.

The ZR-1 has sheer acceleration and high top speeds, while the GTR has the cornering down. The GTR loses more time on the straight than the ZR-1 loses in the corners.

The GT-R really catches up in the last 3 minutes or so. The ZR-1 gets a good lead after the more straightaway focused first half, and it looks like the GT-R is around 1-2 seconds behind before the karussell, but it's right on its tail at the end. Really gains a lot of time after the final straight in that set of final corners.

I'd personally like the full Nurburgring. Judging by how its been given a refurb, it would be nice to have the new one, but the old one won't be so bad. And of course, we should have just the GT4 version and the GP circuit by itself.

If we confirm that the background trailer is GT5, we are defintely going to expect better smoke sprites from what I have seen from the trailer.

Interesting point, I hope we get better smoke and gravle effects. Well, the rally stages had alot of dust in the air too.

I'm wondering where all the crowds are. Maybe there arn't any in GT PSP, maybe this is a new trackday mode, maybe PD wanted to make it easier for us to identify the grandstands or maybe I'm just looking into it too much.

Maybe...

I noticed the smoke earlier while rewatching the video again also, when I saw the Corvette ZR1 sliding it seemed the smoke was pouring out of the wheel well and makes a larger full volumetric cloud too.

Will be very interesting to see what extra tweeks GT5 will offer.

I think that the ZR1 one lap is more twitchy because the driver is not a race car driver. Put a proper race car driver in there, and we should see more of what it's capable of. ...And also it would be smoother. But this is a rear wheel drive car.

They worked hard for that GT-R lap, I'm not sure it could be any quicker. They wittled that time down from many visits. Before it was 7:38 (I believe) and they brought it down to that 7:26er.

Both incredibly fast machines.

What I meant about the GTR lap,is it seemed that he was'nt pushing it to the max. I know he probably was, but it looked as though there may have been some more there. The GTR looks VERY stable at high speeds.

I see you one ZR1 and one GTR and raise you a Dodge Viper ACR. Whats amazing is that this car is as advanced a brick and is geared totally wrong for The Ring BUT still cranks out an amazing lap.

Off topic. I would take the GT-R anyways, because it is a family car!:sly:👍

Yes, I know we are off-topic. I pointed that out earlier. XD But I simply had to respond.

I don't think it quite qualifies as a "family car", but to each his own. I'm not about the argue over personal choice.

Yes, that Viper is very fast - due to a lot of adjustable things, such as the wing (and other aero adjustments), adjustable suspension, plus street-legal racing tires. I think the tires help a lot. It is a very fast car, though probably not a "streetable" as the others.
