Full Nurburgring in GT5?

Could you explain this? I am just curious.

Well it does not have electromagnetic ride dampers like the ZR1, its does not have an advanced 4 wheel drive system that monitors tire slip, turning angle, throttle and brake pressure, it does not have any fancy traction control system, it does not have a dual clutch transmission like the GTR, it does not have 15.5 inch carbon ceramic brakes like the ZR1 and it did not have an eleventy million dollar research budget the GTR and ZR1 had. So in comparison to both those cars the ACR is pretty low tech. I mean compared to a Honda Civic it is pretty advanced but you get my point.

That Dodge Viper really surprised, I thought it was a joke when I found out it now hold's the Production Car record for Nurburgring. I just never thought Viper's were a good handling car and when I say "good" I mean 911/GT-R/MC-12 good. Needles to say, I'm now eating humble pie.

Don't forget though, it's only really a special edition of the Viper. And a stock SRT-10 has been beaten by a previous gen Z4 around Willow Springs aka the fastest circuit in the West.

So ACR is like a tuning company? I still can't picture any Dodge beating the cars at the top of the Nurburgring Lap Time list on anything other than a "Power Circuit"

It appears it is geared so high in 5th and 6th they wer'nt needed, just to keep it spooled up.

More likely that 1st and 6th weren't used. With all that torque 1st gear is probably redundant.

Thanks for the vids Jay.

Clarkson said that the GT4 version of the nurb had one flaw and that was a wrong breaking point. Somebody know which one?

look at the fuel gauge in the GT-R video at the beggining and then at the end, that is a lot of (ilegal) fuel consumption for 1 lap. I´d like to see how much fuel was used by the corvette and specially the viper.

So, I started thinking...

If the first shot of the PSP opening movie is from GT5, then all of it should be. This would be the only thing that would make sense. I mean, do you really think that PD would go through the process of rendering all of that in HD just for the PSP movie?

So I became curious and screen capped and posted about 30 different pics on Flickr. Go check them out.

No, it's not all from GT5, it's GT:PSP assets that have been rendered in HD. You make it sound like a silly ammount of work just for an opening movie but it happens all the time. An opeining movie (if and when it uses in game assets) pretty much is always rendered at a higher level of detail than the ingame graphics, it's really nothing special.

Gotta agree.

Well then I guess all of the hype regarding the Nordschleife GP stands can be put to rest then? This site sure did make a lot out of it, considering it was used in the news section.

Look, I don't know how games are made and am not claiming to, but there is a possibility that all of this was made using GT5. So, I thought it was worth screen capping the other tracks in the video.

PD could have produced high quality versions of these tracks then reduced the no. of polygons and textures for the PSP. That's possible, however, some of the pics are showing really low polygon models for a trialer. If they had a high quality mesh, they probably would have used it.

I know a lot of people said that GTPSP is the reason we've had to wait so long for GT5, but is there any possible way that the development of GT-PSP contributed to the development of GT5?

Scope72 - I'm no modeling expert, but if some of GT-PSPs assets were rendered in HD, could they in-fact be used in GT5? Or am I missing something?

Its the opposite, KY already said they used GT5 assets for GTPSP. At least all the new cars are based up on GT5 models.

This picture is from a GT PSP commercial, and it's rendered at a GT5 graphic level. It also shows the grandstands from the full Nurburgring front stretch.

I just think that if you are PD, what is the easiest route to make an awesome looking trailer for a psp game? Use GT5

Do we know for sure either way? Of course not, but it is definitely worth a look.
