It was funny the first time. For people that actually see the internet on a regular basis, this is probably the hundredth different picture I've seen of this stupid-ass meme.

To get this straight, Bill Shrewsberry's L.A Dart was an exhibition wheelstander in the late 60s, it ran the lenght of the track only in it's rear wheels, so the undercarriage of the car was like the mot logical point for placing sponsorship. You can see the car from 0:45 in here:

I've seen a guy stuck in the ice before, shoveling out the area around their rear tyres on a front wheel drive car. People really need to be educated in these matters. Knowing where the drive comes from on your car is one of the first things you should know.

Um... am I alone in being disappointed that people can miss the entire point of the story so completely? He was the hero. The story was about the tragic corruption of innocence, contrasted against the purity of perfect loyalty and friendship (and no, Sam never leaves Frodo in the book - that part of the movie was where one of Peter Jackson's botched edits undermined the theme). The story was as much about sam as it was about frodo.

It's a special edition actually, comes with those wheels. I worked on one at Flyin' Miata, can't remember what was so special about it though.

Aren't they all.

The one you picture is a different colour (Copper Red) to the pictured "immobilised" car (Art Vin Mica). However it's one of the different colours that the Icon also comes in. So I'd guess the NB Miata Special Edition is the NB MX-5 Icon with 10AE wheels on it

Icon was special by virtue of an LSD, 6 speed gearbox and cream (optionally black) interior with body-coloured stitching. Maybe some other things, but feh.
