To be honest, I think that Becky Watts's killer has the worst legal defence ever - of accidentally punching and strangling her to death while trying to stuff her into a suitcase to scare her - though the story isn't especially funny.

'Kay... I didn't see NFL on there... I Googled it at the time to see why the match might be funny, it just showed the score. The "pigskin picks" are shown here, I don't think that's meant to be funny either, just some kind of odds. A funny story would have been better
