It did happen and I thought it was brilliant banter, but in the context it was the wrong way to go about it

Fun fact: It's illegal to use onepence or tuppence to settle debts greater than 20 pence. (As per the definition of 'legal tender') Is a fine from your temporary employer legally a debt? Because if it is the club must refuse to accept it.

The Royal Mint
Legal tender has a very narrow and technical meaning in the settlement of debts. It means that a debtor cannot successfully be sued for non-payment if he pays into court in legal tender. It does not mean that any ordinary transaction has to take place in legal tender or only within the amount denominated by the legislation. Both parties are free to agree to accept any form of payment whether legal tender or otherwise according to their wishes. In order to comply with the very strict rules governing an actual legal tender it is necessary, for example, actually to offer the exact amount due because no change can be demanded.
Even if it's a debt, wouldn't the club be free to decide to accept payment in any denomination? Much like they would, I imagine, be free to decide to cancel a fine.

I thought it was legal to refuse to accept the payment rather than illegal to make it?

I know someone who payed a parking fine using 3,000 one pence coins. The council employee who reluctantly accepted the payment seemingly didn't realise that they could have refused. Once the payment was made, the matter was closed.

But if "a debtor cannot be sued for non-payment if he pays into court in legal tender", and 5,000 pennies is not legal tender, then he could be sued for non-payment, no? This is only in court though. I was wondering if a fine by your employer worked the same as a debt liable to be paid in court.

I still want to murder Mark Cooper for calling the issue "brilliant banter".

Somebody would have to sue for it to become an issue though?

The work of the cake demon no doubt. I was once told (straight faced) that a cake demon existed, and that it perpetually tempted this particular lady. I replied "So, if one was to go to Hell and meet this cake demon, would there be ganashing of teeth?".

Either she's incredibly weak or that boy needs to join a hockey team.

Also, why would you admit an 8 year old knocked you down?

Oh $220 for closing the street,

Since he said "don't you know who I am"

We can assume he is related to Ronnie Pickering.
Or maybe Cave Johnson.

If he is related to Cave Johnson he might burn our houses down with the lemons

I want to win the lotto, doesn't mean it will happen even if I play.
