Pan Am, Commodore and Polaroid would like to say hello. No business is immune to failure, even industry leaders. Things move at a much quicker pace these days, look at how quickly Blackberry fell from being the standard phone to almost nothing...couple of years maybe. The buying public is much more fickle and much less loyal than it has ever been and I think GT6 sales reflect that to a great degree. It's too early too tell, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.You didn't really hit a nerve, mate. What I'm simply saying is, that I find it incredible that people can call a gaming series that has made billions of $ over almost two decades, simply because they've made some mediocre titles. In my opinion GT6 is a GT5 2.0, the way GT5 should've been, not to mention that the title is still on the old platform. GT7 will be on the PS4, which will open up whole new opportunities in terms of realism and graphics etc.
Furthermore, I'm not even disagreeing with you on the point that GT5 (not so much), but GT6 have been a disappointment, especially after GT4, which was truly brilliant.
And that's not including the competition they'll have on next gen consoles which will be fierce. PCars and Driveclub already have the lead on the graphics front and are not likely to be exceeded simply due to the sheer volume of the task for PD and it's relatively small size. GT could pull a rabbit out of a hat (there's one in every race so they aren't in short supply) and revitalize GT or they may stick to what they know and if it's the same old, same old, the public may have had enough.
