Problem solved , I'd give you + rep for it but alas some moronic immature kids on GTP messed up that functionality. :grumpy:

euh, Im still on page 1. (100 posts/page) So you may want to rephrase that to post# in future ;)

AMG.
That would be post #36.

Hey everyone...i recently bought a G25, and well in the beginning the reverse gear was easily shifted to. But after playing GT5 prologue, the reverse gear doesnt seem to be working...i push down the knob and shift and it just says sixth gear. I tried it today and it still doesnt seem to work..

So now my question?
I no i have to contact Logitech to get a replacement shifter. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you get your replacement? by phone or through internet?

Try some PC racing sim games to see if it works there. G25 works perfectly here, for over a year now. I just was playing GT5P and it was working properly on my wheel. I think it might be your Shifter. Try to unplug and replug the wheel while playing the game with the USB and power connected. If that don't work, try to plug in your G25 when your PS3 is off. If that don't work, put in the disc that came with the wheel, fallow the instructions, then there will be this Screen to let you test out if the wheel works or not. If you go reverse it should say so. if it does not, i think you need to replace the shifter.. I really dont know how to, but the best way is to call the guys.

By the way, you just got the wheel, was it from a store? or some website? maybe u can still return it within 30 days, and replace it with whole brand new wheel.

i got it from the company my mom works for... so it was a special order, although i have 2 year warranty with it. And thanks for the advice...i'll try it out later.

So, is the shifter supposed to go back to neutral position after shifting in sequential mode (ie springs back to vertical)?

Yes, unless you push down on it the same time then it can get stuck, if you just push it forward or back it springs back to centre.

Ah, I thought so! Mine doesn't. :( Also, when I turn the dial to go from 6-speed mode to sequential mode, I can turn it halfway then the knob moves into 4th by itself, and the dial won't go any further... but sequential mode works from here, although I have to move the stick back to neutral by hand each time... This isn't really much of a concern to me though, as I use the 6-speed mode anyway, but still..

And I've tried to use the clutch, but it won't work even after pressing the triangle button (or whichever one it was) as the race starts. I can change gears and everything without clutching, and cars accelerate as normal when it is fully depressed... Maybe that part is my fault though in the calibration or set-up or something. I hope :ill:

You have to hold the shifter down when changing between H patten and sequential mods, down as in depress it downwards like you would to put it on reverse in H patten mode (down to the floor like putting weight on top of it). Just turning the dial on it's own will do what is happening to you.

As for the clutch in GT5P make sure you press the top black button on the shifter unit (which would be triangle) after you have control of the race, you can do it anytime during the race to turn it on or off.

:dunce: Ah! Thank you! Any tips on getting the clutch working properly?

You missed my edit of my last post, anyway I will repeat it here

"As for the clutch in GT5P make sure you press the top black button on the shifter unit (which would be triangle) after you have control of the race, you can do it anytime during the race to turn it on or off."

So set up a race or time trial to try it out (for the first time) then make sure you have control of the car and press it once (top black button in the shifter unit) and you should have clutch function then, also make sure you press the clutch a few times to make sure it is calibrated the first time you use it, you can do that anytime even before the race. you don't have to do that again until next time you turn the PS3 on or reconnect the wheel.

Q: How long are the cables for the G25?

C.

A:
The cable from the gearshifter from the wheel is about 1.3 metres long.
The cable from the pedals to the wheel is about 1.8 metres long.
The cable from the wheel to the usb connector is about 1.85 metres.
The total length of the power adaptor's cable is about 2.2 metres.

The cables actually connect to the wheel by winding underneath and inside it a bit, so they're a little longer. But this is negligible since they have to be in there for everything to connect :P

Thank you - the answer I was really looking for (which you have provided) is the Wheel to PS3 distance...

I sit a good 3/4 metres away from the PS3... on a Sofa...

Methinks I'd have to get a racing chair/cockpit type setup if I'm gonna get one of these!! (Not sure the wife will be too happy about that!)

Well, a cockpit would do the trick :D But maybe a small table and chair would suffice, if portability and ease of packing away was one of your wife's concerns. Or temporarily drag the sofa closer :P

Q- Does the G25 have a 200-degree mode hardware lock? (Like the DFP does)

The G25 does... on PC. :( it isn't a PS3 feature, as far as I know

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a physical lock. Windows does allow you to set the steering ratio to a custom degree limit, but it uses the force feedback to create a "virtual" lock.

If you set the wheel to, say, 360 degrees, you can turn it 180 degrees left or right before the force feedback kicks in to stop you. You can still turn the wheel further, but it'll fight back with enough force to make it clear you've reached full lock.

hey guys, :)
I have been using my g25 with gt5p for 2 months now and was wondering:

A) In GT5p is its possible to use the controller in all the menus with the g25 plugged in? For example my sixaxis + g25 can be used on the main menu screen, but once I enter the submenu(s) such as race or options I must use the controller that is assigned as player 1.
I would much appreciate any help as I find using the buttons and d-pad on the shifter unit clumsy to navigate menus compared to the sixaxis, and makes tuning adjustments a chore!:ouch:

B) Also in GT5p, is it possible to have the sixaxis be used in conjunction with the g25 in game, so as to allow for on the fly tuning? or is this feature exclusive with the DFGT?

Thanks in advance!:)

A) Yes
B) Yes

For A, have your G25 plugged into USB 1, when the game comes on your joypad will be moved to Controller 2/3 automatically, and you're right you only can navigate the main menu. All you have to do is hold down the PS button on your joypad, select the second option "Controller Settings" by pressing X, press X again and adjust the number down to 1, press X then O to exit. The G25 and joypad are now both using the same slot and you'll have full functionality, and in-game too.

I use mine like this and have the joypad close by and don't like to use the shifter d-pad etc.

Now you have the joypad working , go into "Options" then "Hardware" and select controller 1 Change Button assignments and map the 5 RA (Realtime Adjustments) Functions to wherever you want.

I have R1 to bring up the RA menu, then L3 and R3 stick buttons for up/down and L2/R2 to increase/decrease.

Note you can't make any RA adjustments during a Arcade Time-Trial, its stock only but you can in racing on and offline etc.

I was just doing a TT in the GTLM at Eiger and the steering started mess up during a lap.

Driving straight in the game, the G25 wheel is 180 degress to the right and has jumped over. If I turn to the left it only takes around half a turn to hit the stop. When this happens the feedback is only half there and steering is all over the shop.

Plugging it in again resets but only lasts for a few minutes and then jumps over again.

I'll phone Logitech but has anyone had this happen?

I have a question!!!
i just set up my G25 in my new student home,
however the steering wheel in unresponsive (im getting the dim green light)
the connections look good also no crimps in the wire
as per the power coming from the outlet,
the outlet has no problem powering a TV with the same amps and voltage and a ps3,
however the wheel is still unresponsive when only the ps3 and wheel are connected to the outlet
can anyone help me out?
thanks in advanced

First question which PS3 do you have?
Second which port is your wheel in needs to be in port 1/3
Third is your controller off try turning your controller off till you get the wheel set, then assign your controller to (2).
Do you have a PC/Laptop that you could plug your wheel into to test it.
Hope this helps

i have a ps3 fat,
controller usb is plugged into #1
the pedals and shifter works (dim green light)
so definitely problem with power supply?

looks like my power adapter is kaput (0V on the multimeter)
wonder what could have caused it...

If your sure the power adapter is kaput what I would try is taping some straight pins to the leads on your meter then stick pins into wires coming out of adapter (I would unplug adapter first). Stick the pins into the wires far enough back from each other so they don't touch each other. Then use an extension cord plug adapter into cord then cord into outlet(this way you can stay away from the wires even with small volts out you still need to be careful) Doing this would tell you if the wire going into the wheel base is broken somewhere. If you have volts here then try close to where it goes into wheel. You might want to try checking for resistance with the meter from where it goes into wheel working back. Just be sure to unplug from wheel so you don't mess wheel up.

A new adapter from Logitech Store is $10.00 not sure what shipping is

This link should take you to the site . Otherwise go to Logitech site :then at top of page go to Support>Gaming>gaming>G25>enter>then Parts.
The adapter is the only part that they sell for the G25.
