Still working on my Spielberg-skills to make a nice compilation of funky race-moments, so for now, I'll start off with some 1 lap racing videos showcasing some of the cars and tracks in GT PSP. Please feel free to comment or request something you would like to see. :) BTW, if anybody has any tips on how to prevent Youtube from degrading the videos (if possible), please let me know or give me a hint. 👍 Up next: Nissan GTR SpecV. Also, if there's any interest, I'm up for posting some videos from bumper cam with no music so you all can judge the updated sounds?

Bugatti Veyron - Trial Mountain

Nice video, I'm working to get my quality level up there. i should have it worked out next week.
I'm using a component AV cable hooked up to a Hauppauge HD PVR. I use EyeTV on the Mac to record the replays. So far, I haven't done any editing on the source material...yet. For one, the colors and saturation are off. So with the help of some good editing software, quality should increase further. I'm not too happy about youtube compressing the quality though (though understandable ;)), the vids that came straight from the PSP look so sharp and unpixellated compared to what you see here.

BTW, to give you guys an impression of what youtube does to the videos, here's a screenshot of the GTR taken straight from the original video on my laptop (pause video at start to see difference):

And the Veyron (taken from the vid above, pause at 1:04 to see the difference):

Yeah, I notice it now too. Will have a look into it, since I have both the PSP and my capture device set at 16:9. :)

EDIT: Found it, it's probably an issue with the EyeTV software not detecting the proper aspect ratio. Will set it by hand next time.

The aspect ratio is a little messed up ;)

Okay, so I did some research. Apparently, the video output of the PSP is not specifically meant for games. The games always run in 480x272, which is an aspect ratio of 3:2. The video out however is 720x480, with game images centered in the output (hence the black bars). The video output runs in either 4:3 or 16:9, wich means the original game image (at aspect ratio 3:2) will get squashed or stretched. That really sucks, because this means you can't record games from the video output in the correct aspect ratio! 👎

This does not apply to the XMB and movies, these are shown in the correct resolution and aspect ratio.

So, guess I should be looking for a converter. Or of course record it using CFW.

Mazda Furai - Nürburgring

Here's a video of the Mazda Furai on the Nürburgring. Professional physics, all aids off. I noticed that, contrary to GT5P (where most tracks are flat as a pancake and you can just drop the ride height to the lowest possible value on most cars), in GTPSP the cars will most definitely bottom out. The Nurb is a good example of a track where height differences and jumps will result in bottoming out. I created tunes for the Mazda Furai and Audi R8 LMS '09 to reflect this. Just let me know if you need them and I'll post them. :)

As you'll probably notice, aspect ratio is still off. :( I'm still looking for a decent editor/converter to correct the aspect ratio. So far, all the editors I've tried either fail to correct the aspect ratio properly, or they succeed, but they mess up the sound. So if anybody can point me to a proper one, that would be greatly appreciated. 👍

yeah the attention to detail in this game blows me away. i usually lower all my cars down to gain speed, but i did that with the gt-r at nurburgring to disastrous results.

I did the same at first, but in the end I ended up raising some of the race and concept cars, since they're already very low to begin with.
