Garage Showdowns! Join Discussion to Make Future Events Better!

Today will be the first time I've had a chance to test the new events. I'm going to HSR now.

On a side note, I only have the NTSC version so I'll be looking for a couple PAL drivers to represent DR as I won't be able to race personally.

The car has been chosen, we shall (strangely) be using the GT LM at the HSR 800 event, because it is difficult to tune and should make things interesting.

I chose this car because it is a major pain to tune and drive at HSR. You can adjust settings for free lap runs and the handling will be signifigantly different once the car is in an actual race. You can thank or loathe PD for this type of performance dynamic. I choose to see it as a challenge.

That's alright, when I found out it's not as dominant as I fared it would be, I'm really happy with it, plus I made a tune I feel will be hard to beat, I'm really happy with my car.:D

Well I'm going to use my set up as the yard stick for you boys, about 10 laps total now in free run and I'm at 1:02.798 with the same suspension and such of my 750 Suzuka set up, so no special adjustments for HSR bar gears and the PP.

I think the GTLM was the right choice for this event, it's the only competitive car that isn't childs play to drive round HSR because of the nature of the corners.

That is really really fast driving, how do you do it?

Just have to use the liftoff oversteer correctly, after my Suzuka time I believe this time is now beatable. Maybe I'll try myself later in the day.

And to think I thought I did use the lift-off oversteer correctly. When are you trying my tune then?:dopey:

Edit: The link to The Lion's Den setup is now in the first post, plus we really need more drivers than what we currently have.

We're some norwegians who like to take part of this. GTLm at HSR 800pp is it? I've tried too check out ruels and dates but would be happy if somebody put it out in a short format - and is it still posible to enter a new team?

You can enter if you like, here's a quick run down:

  • You must use one of the competing garage's tunes
  • Dates haven't been decided yet
  • It is indeed at HSR 800 PP this time
  • Due to low numbers I think 5 teams would be too many

N4HS i think we need to introduce a minimum PP limit, because with the big rolling start high grid positions help alot so someone running 798PP instead of the full 800 has a huge advantage.

Assuming the time fits me, i'm in!! Sitting on the pole again.. lol, sorry about that... that is if PD hasn't changed the way they select the grid positions.

Should we set a final submission date for the tunes, before which they must be submitted and after which they cannot be changed?

Agree with all the above about fixed PP for all cars. There is an advantage at HSR in starting first as opposed to starting last. ;) Also happy to lock the tunes down.

I'd say we keep a fixed limit, e.g. 800 exactly (or 798). :)

798 will likely not put a group of Spec II cars in front imo. We'd likely have to go as low as 792, which would ruin a lot of hard work put in by not only myself but maybe other tuners. The Vettes and Amuses would catch us anyway. My suggestion is to run the max pp and let the chips fall where they may.

I agree, we tuned the cars for 800PP, 800PP it is. :) But perhaps the other tuners disagree?

What other tuners? We're all here and we all just agree'd.;)

I don't see a need to lock down tunes after a certain date though. We're just waiting on 888 Tuning so we can start thinking about a date, and worrying about more drivers.:sly:

Come on guys, Digital Racecraft, 888 Tuning and The Lion's Den need some drivers, you don't need to be fast, this is a really fun event and even more fun if we have more drivers.:)

NTSC also needs some racers pretty badly, anyone?

I only just properly looked at this thread. From the post above sounds like you need some drivers? (sorry cant be bothered to read through 54 pages lol)

Im a PAL racer and would be available if needed?

See first post, its GTLMs and you can pick any tuner, but as stated if one team has to many drivers, people will be re-allocated
