You know, one thing I've learned to take advantage of in SSF4 to do certain moves (even in Trials) is to use the Focus Attack. It gives you a little more leverage in executing Supers and Ultras. Even in matches that I lost, my opponent (usually Ryu) hit me with a Focus Attack followed by that Ultra Hadouken. That's something I'd probably recommend to SSF4 newbies. Learn to use the Focus Attack and follow up with a Super or Ultra if you have enough energy.

Correction, learn how to use Focus wisely. Certain attacks are armor breaking, for example. Balrog's Overhead, Chun-li's ex SBK, Yun's lunge punch.

Only a few ultras are excusable, but most ultras don't need you to land a crumple... For example, with Ryu, you can hit-confirm into ultra via shoryuken > FADC > Metsu Hadoken... by using focus attacks, you scale the damage output of your ultra by a lot.

I think that falls under the majority of characters but remember about damaging scaling.
rufus's can do it in the corner
Rog can do it after a headbutt
Seth can do it after cr.hp ( same with Abel)
etc etc

an update on MVC3: I still haven't settled on a 3rd character.... Possibly trying out Dorm a second time. Need something that will beat out Tron's Gustav fire Assist.

Try Wesker. Though there is a fine line between a scrubby Sentinel and a Good Sentinel . OR try She-Hulk, there is always Mr.mayor.

I was using Wesker when I first started, I don't see much out of him when applying pressure since teleporting on block is so obvious.

I had Chun Li for a while, but I still can't get in because cr L has like no reach over Dante or Zero.

I would of kept Chun if that was your only problem and have another partner work against Zero or Dante.

Nope I still lose even though I'm using Wolvie.

I do know one thing though; Destroy his crappy Tron, you win against him. I have went to the extent of snapping her in, but one thing I always fall for is the cross up H.... the way she descends with while doing a spinning clothesline appears so ambiguous to big because of her massive bot.

99% of the time, he's in complete advantage whenever he calls out Tron, because I keep forgetting about the possibility of him calling her out, or because that covers him after he finishes an ABC on block.

Haven't considered him, but I shouldn't let a good assist call the shots, I still have to be able to use him too, which I haven't practiced with yet.

I still want to see the long cut of I got next!
Thanks to all of you, Evo has attained record success, attracting literally thousands of tournament players year after year. A down side to all this growth has been the time that players have to wait between playing their tournament matches. But good news! In 2011 we’re instituting a new three-tiered tournament format that will allow us to run massively large tournaments while greatly reducing all players’ waiting time between matches. Find out how after the jump.
Smaller Pools
At Evolution 2011, all Pools will contain a maximum of 16 players. All your games in your initial pool will be played in a 2 hour session. The top 2 players from each Pool will move on to the Quarter Final round in the tournament schedule for later in the day. The top 2 players in the Quarter Final round will move onto the Semi Finals scheduled to start immediately after the Quarter Finals finish. Keep an eye on the Evolution 2011 Website after registration closes for a complete touranment schedule.
Why this is Awesome
For players that don’t make it out of their initial pool, this means you can sit down, play your games, and be out of there in under 2 hours. You can spend the rest of your time checking out the EVO panels, visiting our sponsor booths (where we have all sorts of un-announced surprises for you), getting your game on in the BYOC, or just checking out the sites in Vegas. If you’re in the top 15% and actually do make it out of your pool, the rest of the day is free: just be back at night to play the rest of your matches in the Quarter and Semi Finals.
Don’t be Late!
In the new system, it’s more important than ever for players to show up on time for their pool. In a 16-man pool, just 1 or 2 people being late can drag the entire tournament to a stand-still by blocking matches which need to be played to make progress in running the bracket.
In order to keep the tournament running smoothly and on-time, all players please remember to report to your pool promptly. Being just a few minutes late could result in disqualification from the tournament. We recommend planning on arriving to the tournament hall 10-15 minutes before your pool is scheduled to start to make sure you have time to find your tournament station and check in with the judge.
If you have questions about the new system, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll see you all at EVO!

I hate online play...it gives off a even scrubby computer play....it isnt as filling like Offline. You don't learn anything with online play.....

I was just wandering the PS Store as part of my wednesday routine, to see what new games were on there. Then as I have just bought SSFIV I checked its DLC list I stumbled across SSFIV Arcade Edition. I have questions,

What is it?
What does it bust open?
Whats different from SSFIV? (I.E New stages? etc)

The "better" version

Except Yun is apparently too good, but I blame that on his dive kick...

now you're probably thinking, what about Rufus?!?

I think it has been long enough to beat the twin's dive kick now, that or bait it out to a block string.

With rog, I am somewhat not worried with chip but still trying to find a answer. Though I have a answer for his kicks.

Didn't look like one. :odd:

In other news, Sanwa buttons feel like cheap plastic... It's like I can break them if I really wanted to.

Not that I'm using them for joysticks, I'm actually using 4 Sanwa buttons for a Taiko controller I made. The spring is damn soft, which explains why people claim it's so "sensitive".

My friend tried it out and he feels plinking is probably much much easier on these than Seimitsu's, which we have on both our joysticks...

You should see this guy's joystick, it's mad huge and I don't know why he insisted on it being so large.

 I love Sanwa because of the Madcatz Problem with their first wave of SE's. Hori button seems so-so for me,Crown's are small ,and Happ is hard to play with (lol). But it depends on games.Sanwa=Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, Hori= Tekken,Virtual fighter, Soul Calibur, Crown= Metal slug or marvel, Happ= any Vs series.
