KOF is really balanced but we don't have an American community. I love that game also. Though for now the hype for Skullgirls is dying..T_T

there isnt a big community for any of the other fighters minus anything from capcom Tekken is decent though but hey thats why I am glad I posted that video every bit of exposure helps we all do our part I have been able to get 6 of my freinds to purchase the game lets all do the same.

Well it really depends where you go.

If you haven't Road to Evo2k12: CivilWar 4, RyRy Won KOF. If you join SRK or Zaibatsu, I am sure you can find players around your local area and KOF is balanced but a bit difficult to play.

I am well aware of all those forums you actually will find I am a member at most of those and have freinds on them ( freind me just look for boomee)other than melty blood ( not interested in that game) I was just stating that the streetfighters and MVC are definitly the more popular ones not that I think there the best but just how it goes.Personaly KOF, Tekken/TAg and Virtua fighter are the best as well as Street fighter 3. ALso one more place is Orochinagi: The King of Fighters forums.

MVC and Street Fighter tend to be casually friendly. ( especially SFxT, probably the same with Soul Calibur)
Tekken has too many combos with too many characters
KOF is strict on notation
VF is probably the same.
SF4 has shortcuts
MvC has top tiers and salty runbacks
Soul calibur has EE-SPOOOOORTS! ( meter/automatic Guard impact/Supers)
Mortal Kombat Juggles
Blazblue/Guilty has too many combos and specific character combos.
DOA- is counter friendly
There is so much fighting games now...

all that sounds like opinions your entitled to them but I disagree with some of them if not all them.

Tekken has too many character and too may combos???? how is that a bad thing it just gives more variables and options for a player and nothing wrong with KOF strict notation it just makes you learn a little bit more. be more crisp so to speak

How many character specific combos would you exactly use?
Armor King
From: u/f+4_uf,n+4
- d/f+1; 1+2,2; d+2 B! iSW (70dmg)
- 1+2,2; d+2 B! iSW_d/f+1; f+2,1_GS
- f+1+2 B! d/f+1; 1+2,2; f+1+4
- 2,1; df+2 B! iSW_d/f+1; f+2,1_GS
- d/f+3; d/f+1; d+2 B! d/f+3; GS
IRC, how many are you going to use per match?
How does following strict notation doesn't follow into a short cut and vice versa?
If I learn KOF, are you going to buy and play Skullgirls?

You are in the wrong mindset. KOF has multiple playstyles built into the game, and each playstyle either works or it doesn't.

To tell you a bit of backstory, there is this idiot in the KOF community called Emil. For years he has criticized Dark Geese and Mexico's style of play in KOF 2002 calling it at times a sloppy way to play(not trying to be profane here).

One day I got a message from Dark Geese himself saying that you got to see this vid that I put up. Apparently, Emil, in all of his ***** glory, talked himself into a first to ten match in KOF 2002 with BALA, a top player in Mexico, on GGPO. BALA hammered him 10-1 in the match. No the video isn't up today, but it goes to prove the point that don't go and think that you are superior because of your style of play. Because there is always that one person better than you. That day, it was BALA by a clear margin.

Sometimes its hard to get a discussion going on in this thread...

I probably am with KOF and my short time experience with it. I love the game, though I understand by getting blown up. Evo2k11, I was heading to my room and the room across from me had some people playing casuals. Randomly, Juicebox is in there playing casuals. No one wanted to go next, so I went. I probably went 0-20 playing against him and I heard him say that Rog is probably the worst match up against Abel. After those matches, it was my official match against KillerKai and I thought he was some random player at first...I lost in the normal matches and losers against a Dj who's setups I couldn't beat because I wasn't prepared. I should of worn a Salty Shirt that day....I saw Kayo and I wanted to take a picture with her/him.

No I will not buy Skullgirls its not my cup of tea(I am not saying it is a bad game by any means). There is nothing wrong with variaty the way I paly and the notations I use in Tekken 5/6 may and probably are gonna be vastly different than what you use you play and do what works for you in the game and what your comfortable with thats why I like the vast moves in the game you can play it casually or you can get technical and deep into it close to perfect IMO( at least till I play home versionof TT2)
Also my opinion you can never have too manny characters I wanna see a 70 roster game.

I have plans ( at least at this time) of purchaseing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and DL Virtua fighter 5 showdown Not sure about Dead or alive I will wait and see on that. I am not in to boob juggle physics at all I honestly dont take it seriously if that has changed ...maybe.

Mugen is fun lol 100+ characters. Alot of fighting games aren't my cup of tea but if there is people to play with. Why not?

@nk4e: Training tip straight from the master, DG. "Do not isolate yourself to one or two teams." This means that you should train with multiple characters at the same time so that instead of getting one or two set teams, you get ten or fifteen teams. Do this, and you can stand with the Brazilians, and the Mexicans who only play 2002.

I think I spent over an hour trying to get that one switch cancel combo to land... and for only 337 dmg too. It's a hit confirm combo with lili where I switch cancel after a juggled EX Feisty Rabbit Thorn, though now that I think of it, I'll probably do more damage if I switch using EX Knee as well as getting more damage.

I need to get away from the hype of some games. IMO, there are too many fighting games to play. UMVC3 is fun, AE is challenging, KOF13 is challenging, Blazblue is a cycle, Skullgirls is challenging and fun, SC is fun.
I really need to put in a good time into A game...

Marshall is better known though. In canon Forrest only appeared in Tekken 3, while Marshall appears in the rest.

Laggy matches, darren. We should just stick to using the training stage to help reduce that.

Was fun never the less.

I felt no lagg at all. It was easy to counter your moves.

You make a whole bunch of risky moves, guy. You have done several uppercuts and TKs on nothing. I don't know if you want to call such guesses as a counter since you didn't succeed several times.

and what in the world is with the awful colour schemes?

Actually, Bisons colors are Shin Bisons colors from Alpha 3. It looked amazing.

GGs Darren, though you are getting some things right during the matches. You were zoning good but you were mashing some buttons on some characters. If you played a bit more, I am sure you were get the gist of things. Blocking when there is a cross up, knowing that Rog has a invincible projectile move. HDR is a really hard and fun game to play like KOF. lol
It was 20(+)-7

Update:

False alarm, folks…. apparently the pics are just from TTT2, not from TxSF. Apparently Michael Murray was messing around with Tekken Tag 2′s customization mode (Arcade debug) and sent those pics to Harada. Well, that’s good in a way. Another nice little bit is that when I asked Mike if the Customization mode on the console will be improved from the Arcade version, he said ‘Yes.’ No details of course, but I guess that’s something. We’ll see then as we work our way to September.

Very horrible match ups but it was a first 2/3 matches. Later on, I improved and also found out how many people just hate Chun in 3s. I was Ryu in both matches.

Virtua Fighter 2. Its conversion to the Saturn was the best game on the system and for me the greatest fighting game ever. The VF series has the right balance of realism and fun, and at least the boss(Dural) is beatable.....Mr Tekken im talking to you
