I was wondering if anyone could help me find out, how do I learn tag combos in Tekken Tag Tournament 2?

Is there anyway I can find out in-game how to do it?

I got TTT2 as a present today, I'm pretty horrible at it but it's quite fun. My favourite pair right now is Brian and Forest Law but I had a go with Kunimitsu earlier, haven't used her in years. I sailed through the first half of arcade solo with Kunimitsu actually... Then the next time through with Brian and Forest I got my arse handed to me. Not really sure why. Jun is just a wall of punches and kicks. To be fair I haven't owned or really played Tekken since the last TTT and I wasn't even good back then, so I just need practice I suppose.

I've got a few fighting games lately, new and old!

Virtua Fighter 1 - Sega Saturn. Always wanted it because I liked the blockyness and cool "3D" look of it when I was a kid, played it for a bit and to be honest it's quite junk, cost me less than the postage though so no bother, nice bit of nostalgia. Virtua Fighter 2 is infinitely better!

Dead or Alive 2 - Sega Dreamcast - Really like this, fast paced and fairly easy to pickup fluid gameplay, great graphics and massive bouncing breasts. Another title I never owned but always wanted and picked up for dirt cheap.

lastly, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown : Bought from PSN : I'l be honest as much as this game is lacking in any real single player (its an arcade port type game just like VF/VF2/VF3) the actual fighting is awesome. Not really sure how many people actually play this, did a few online matches and got owned a few times and won a few matches.

Single player is certaintly much much easier than in previous games, beating VF2 on normal is far more difficult than beating VF5 Final Showdown on the hardest difficulty, still though as a bit of a Virtua Fighter fanboy I love it.

In between TA, it is usually 1 heavier move or one light move. IT VARIES BETWEEN PARTNER/CHARACTERS. Example:
King and Bryan:
uf+4, 2,2+1, TA (Bryan) b2,1,4, (King) ISW! ( running power bomb)
Bryan/King
cr.2,2 on hit, TA(King) finisher or extension or reset.
Or you can try
a bound combo and let the A.I. take over for a filler then a finisher
Or check out tekkenzaibatsu

Raise the age passed 18, and a few secrets are unlocked.

been playing fighters since yie ar kung fu, seriously since sf2ww.

my favourite fighters are mostly from snk and capcom, some of my favourites:

sf2hf

sf3ts

sfa/z2

ffs

rb2

lb1&2

ss2

cvs2

kof 95, 97/98, 13

fighters i cant stand:

mk series as a whole

doa series as a whole

the whole marvel series.

also im not a fan of the airdsh fighters with all those long combos. though i have been thinking about getting into ggacx+, and maybe the latest bb game.

ive got a ps3 and a neo geo cdz, if anybody wants im up for kof 13, sf3ts and ssf4 play. i also have ssf2hdr and mvc2, even the first mvc3, im willing to play hdr, not the marvels. i hardly ever play these games, im still pretty decent though.

Has marvel games but doesn't like air dashing..don't play TvC. In GG or at least BB, there is some air dashing but also move canceling ( roman Cancels)

yeah im not a fan of airdashers, but i do want to try to get into 1 sooner or later, might as well get into a good one, better yet best one (gg, but maybe even bb).

i really, really dont like reppetetive air combos where you keep jumping and doing the same few normal. this is really bad in marvel, also the floaty jumps and weird jumps of the game, the way you hardly ever see everything happening in the screen. things like this are unacceptable in a fighter for me. it seems arks games dont have these kind of screw ups capcom games do have in their marvel and vs series.

Guys, does TTT2 have any kind of ranking/matchmaking? I've only played one online unranked game so far and got absolutely thrashed, so I don't really want to go back until I've practiced offline more, but thinking about it I probably won't improve all that much fighting the AI, so if I were to lose like 10 games in a row would it keep putting me in with people with good win/loss ratios or would it match me with people who aren't so good? Or should I just go and find out for myself?

There is a saying in the FGC about leveling up your skill, " You play people better then you to get better" Tekken is a manly game because it is all about punishment and footsies. ( you could get specific and say frame-traps, spacing, teching) but here is some TTT2 dedicated YT channels

You can discuss in this thread and our few members can try our best to help you level your game. Learn some combos and see how safe it is in a gameplay. If you lose, review your replay and see what you did wrong. Though should be match making....don't believe ranks or points.

Thanks, I'll check some of those out when I have time. I was kind of hoping it would be possible to play against some other people of the same skill/inadequacy level rather than have to invest a lot of time in sharpening my reaction speed and all that, I don't think I have that kind of dedication... I can do a couple of combos with Brian, it's just blocking, parrying and counters I can't do. And other more advanced things like juggling and all that. I'll work on it though!

To block just move your character back. Its not in the manual strangely.

Oh, I know, it's just working out when to block mid and when to block low, the thing is I can see a low attack coming, I just don't react! Countering throws is another, I know what I'm supposed to press but by the time I know what's going on I've missed the opportunity.

Lol Blocking in Tekken is crucial. SF is alright since you probably have to get ready for a OS or tech by hitting three buttons during a block string. In Tekken or SC, you could side step or low-parry. Though depending who you play, they could go for mixups, overheads, or baiting for something.

I bought and installed "Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown" from the PlayStation Store over the weekend. This game to VF5 is more like "VF4: Evolution" is to VF4- an enhanced experience from the original game. Sad thing is that you have to pay for the customizable stuff for VF5:FS. So while I would enjoy customization, I'm more okay with just keeping the characters as is. Not like customization will make them any stronger or anything. I initially thought this game was going to be like the full version of "Virtua Fighter 5" but with a lot more content, kind of like "Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution." It's still a great game from what I've played so far.

As for the game itself, it is all every bit as fun as any other Virtua Fighter I've played before. A lot of the classic characters still got it. Even the original eight Virtua Fighter characters haven't missed a beat. I used Jean in the Scoring Attack, and I like this dude. He's like a much more agile and versatile Akira. I've always had a "theory" with characters in karate gis- they are usually the toughest and most well-respected characters in a fighting game. That's true with Ryu and Ken and such, but I could never connect with Akira. I can't see myself doing too well with the sumo wrestling guy. I'd probably stand a better chance with Wolf of Jeffry.

So, yeah. Got a PS3 and love the Virtua Fighter series? You have my approval to get this game.

S Rank: Shun, Lau, Akira

Within the top ranks, you have Shun, who has gained a ton of good moves and adjustments, Lau, who has not changed that much (but takes very good advantage of the new system), and Akira, who has been powered up. The changes to the throw system have not detracted from their game at all.

A Rank: Lion, Kage, Goh, Brad, Sarah, Wolf

All purpose characters are Lion and Kage, while Goh and Wolf possess very solid and simple 50/50 mixups. Sarah and Brad are also strong due to their stances. These characters have also not been affected too much by the changes to the throw system.

B Rank: Jean, Pai, Vanessa, Aoi, Taka-arashi, Eileen

Although they possess the ability to take on the stronger characters, they have quite a few weak points. However if they can compensate for their weakpoints with new combos and tactics, they may rise to A rank!

C Rank: Blaze, Jacky, Jeffry, Lei-Fei

They did not receive many upgrades or anything to really take advantage of the revamped game system. However, the difference between B and C rank isn't that large, if you were to ask most players.

I just beat the Arcade Mode last night under Normal Difficulty. It was unique seeing that single wall for Dural's stage. Let me tell anyone who is a novice to Virtua Fighter- NEVER take Dural lightly. She is capable of almost anything and is totally unpredictable. She may even perform some very easy five-hit combos on you.

Sir Daigo? I haven't heard news about Daigo in awhile. Though I hope that the SG patch gets released soon.

What is the fighting game with the best multiplayer for Xbox360?

Best netcode would be for blasblue, if you are into airdashers.

I think it would be safer bet to ask at fighting game forums instead of here though.

Soul calibur 5 has great netcode, same for virtua fighter 5 and tekken tag 2.

Games with lesser netcode but still really good games, street fighter 4 series. kof 13 has a terrible netcode, but is possible the best 2d fighter ever released.

Skull girls seems to be a pretty decent fighter with an ok netcode.

Terrible fighters you should avoid like the plague, any mortal kombat or any other game from neatherrealm, injustice and mk vs dc etc.

MK9 I enjoyed, Injustice is good so far. Online yes they're terrible, offline is the only way to play in my opinion.

Thank you, I forgot to say that I'm a 2D fighter player. So probably I will pick Blazblue and Skullgirls.

No problem, both of these games are airdashers though, so i hope you are familiar with that guilty type of gameplay.

IMO:
Blazblue is good but just wait for the new one to come out
AE has a good netcode but everyone online is way too good now.
3S still has the love out there ( same with HDR)
Marvel series ( MVC2, UMVC3, Origin) is stupid fun
Guilty Gear just had a update and is fun
Tekken Tag 2 has a better netcode then Blazblue
KOF13 is technical like VF, but VF is too manly.
Skullgirls is easy to learn and pretty fun
Injustice is one of the better games that Neatherrealms has produced.
DarkStalkers:R has just been released and isn't get the love it deserves.

You probably get the same opinions from SRK or Zaibatsu..Sanji! AOS! Where are you!?
