Too bad you still won't play it. :P

I'm down for the changes, don't care so much about stages or characters. I'm at the stage where it'll take more than a "new" character to get me to really play this game again. I still do, but I'm not going to be investing hours into learning another character.

Not so much not wanting to play it, as I like AE (although not very good at it). I just had a lot of exams. ;)

Have you been able to work on any combos so far?
Not yet, as I haven't had the time to play it! I intend to pick it up again during my summer break, when I have time to play it.

I was never good at linking combos together in SF, ever. (I don't know why, but I was always better at the Namco fighters like Soul Calibur and Tekken)

But it's July now!

Linking combos is harder in SF because you actually have to time each attack. In Soul Caliber and Tekken, you can push a few more times to guarantee a hit.

Will be 5 new characters and 6 new stages.
My only problem is that back in 2011 I bought the Arcade Edition, because Capcom said that AE would be the final version of SFIV.
And a SF with 2D sprites like KOF would be amazing. KOF is the most beautiful fighting game this generation.
I said 4 confirmed, the 5th one is still a mystery. I was near the exit during the panel  Gotta love the ono-face in "A day at Capcom"
KOF XII/XIII will be some of the last of the quality Hi-Res hand drawn fighters. Even ArcSys is going with 3D Models, now.

Street Fighter IV was highly successfull, and continues to have a strong presence in the communinty. Why go BACK to an old visual style now? It won't happen.

And the community asked for continued support, and tweaks. getting SFxT leftovers is a bonus they didn't have to provide. And this doesn't subtract from any potential new title in anyway, so it's all good for those who still play Street Fighter IV.

EDIT - Btw, Ono doesn't have the staff or funds for V right now, anyway.

"I don't have R&D budget and staff who they're just only make USF4."
Just the time between games seems like they need a new game, there is still resources left for SFxT updates and TxSF. But it is good to hear that Peter is taking charge of changes.( Though Alex would be a nice touch also for the help)

SF is easier playing SC or Tekken. If you can't do a full combo, take it apart and practice.

and buffering moves is easier ( for me)

What did Seth say about the 5th? I can't access that link at work, sadly.

From what I know;

-First appearance in Street Fighter
-First appearance in a fighting game
-Related to Street Fighter

EDIT - Oh, he said he hope's its Haggar. But it won't be. Capcom ruled him out. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/...ter-will-be-making-their-fighting-game-debut/

Again, first appearance in a fighting game. Haggar has been in two.

They key is: Never been in a FG before... meaning it's definitely an existing character in the Capcom universe... it's bound to have been an NPC. Similar to how Gouken got in Street Fighter IV.

I'd laugh if it was one of Cammy's sisters or some other sidekick/rival of other characters. Go Hibiki would be funny, but I can't see why'd he'd make it in.

Which is a pretty short list, really. Go Hibiki? Whoever's left that hasn't been utilized from Final Fight?

A handful of baddies. Two P, Damned, etc. Then we have background Street Fghter charaters, like Goutetsu, who IS dead, but they brought Gouken back so who knows.

Or it could be a new character. That's what I keep leaning towards.

The never been in a fighting game before thing is what makes me lean towards completely new, with a connection to a pre-existing character. Gou is dead, but death has never stopped anyone before in SF, so I unno. He would be interesting, though.

I'd like to see some Slam Master's characters, but aren't their titles considered fighters by most people's standards? I would, especially the sequel.

Just to be clear, when you say "new", you mean a character that has never appeared anywhere before?

I believe by their careful choice of words:

"never been featured in a Street Fighter game up until now” but that this “will be the first time he (or she) makes their fighting game debut."

They have suggested that this character already exists. The fact that they specify Street Fighter probably means they're either from a different game or they're an existing Street Fighter character, but just not in Street fighter video game.

Did they state that '...never before being in a Street Fighter' meant they were in one and just not playable, or have never been in one at all? No background or off hand mentions?

Ono isn't the best at English, so there may be room to wiggle there.

It may in fact be an existing character from the Lore. There are quite a few there worth bringing in.

I would like to see some of those scrapped characters from the numerous Secret Files/Artbooks appear. There was some cool concepts.

I believe Cammy's sisters ( Dolls) appeared in the Alpha Series. It would be really nice though, what also be nice if Cammy got a Doll DLC. Peter announced it, not Ono-san then it was S-kill.

Ahh, Combofiend. Good guy, great player. Decapre would be interesting, and would definitely be in line with Capcom's somewhat lazy approuch to updating with Ultra. Mostly SFxT assets).

I feel nostalgic... I played a lot SCI on Dreamcast, and SCII, SCIII on PS2. That game is so fun I probably spent 100h playing SCII. I will buy this game for sure.

Is it Soulcalibur series that you played?

It's a nice game. I enjoyed SCIV and SCV on my ps3.

I'm suffering through a bit of SF withdrawal right now. I want to play so bad, but since the basement flooded I have no TV I can use.. not until the basement is repaired.

I came close to buying a monitor just so I can play in my computer room and use it as a dual monitor if not in use.

Just do it. I heard that the Evo monitor was on sale not too long ago. I am having my SF withdrawal, no console or TV.

I had a feeling I'd be blowing my money on compulsive urges so I didn't and probably won't for buy one for the time being.

You have a monitor right? If it's HDMI compatible, you could get an HDMI switcher so you can alternate between PS3 and PC.

I wonder if they will included the price for the DLC characters with the original price. Aside from that, I hope it doesn't take anyone away from SG. It is going to be released this month...
