how come i win virtually all my races in the quick match but not in the lobby?

Statistically speaking, you will find much more skilled participants in the lobbies. I am winning 85% of my races in Quick Match so I go back to the lobbies and leagues if I want to challenge myself and learn how to be a better driver. But I think you already know that.....

Are we allowed to use our own cars for this or are we limited to just using the courtesy cars.

EDIT: Never mind the question, just answered it myself. Anyways, I tried this for the first time, entering 5 races in each category. The experience was absolutely repulsive. I know 5 year olds with better skill and manners than what I witnessed. Absolute chaos. Ramming, divebombing, you name it. :banghead: Good idea, but PD really needs to implement some kind of driver rating system or something because as of now, its nothing but a free-for-all, win at any cost, circus. I won't be trying it again until a better plan is put into place. :grumpy:

It's not for everyone true.
It's more like demolition derby.
I'm enjoying it (when I can stay connected) for what it is "just fun "
Some one in a match I was in who was dive bombing and blocking and weaving all over the place messaged me and told me to " learn how to drive "

I don't have time to join a league or to race in online lobbies so it gives me (the casual racer) a chance to have a go against other people (albeit lunatics in general )
I have found if you stay with a race for a while the lunatics get wheedled out and you can end up with some sensible folk in the matches.

From around early Thursday to sometime Monday, I won't be able to update the OP or comment/help anyone out with any questions as I'll be away for sporting committments so please bear with me during my absence. Sorry for any possible inconvenience it may cause.

So I missed the title here and made a new thread, whoops. Glad someone was thinking of this already.

Anyone here enjoying the 700PP Indy race?

Am I the only one whose enjoying the Quick Match than in Open Lobby, despite of having a lot of issues? Most of the time I absolutely have no chance of joining any room in Open Lobby (I always kicked out for no reason, everybody lags bec of my ping and location, and most of them are just nonsense like meet-up, drift and cruise).

Current quick match events:

600 PP Super Car (World matching, Motegi West) - same carset as previous
GT500 (World matching, Tokyo R246) - same carset as previous
650 PP Racing Car (Expert, Apricot Hill) - same carset as previous
700 PP Racing Car (Expert, Indy Road) - R10 TDI, 908 HDi FAP Peugeot Total, 787B, XJR-9, Speed 8, Sauber C9

These events expire on October 7th. :)

I'm enjoying too...Tokio is very exciting!

  1. Am I the only one who constantly experiences connection problems when entering these events for the first time?
  2. Was wondering...whát exactly are your favourite cars & setups? (I tend to use traction control (to 1) sometimes. And yes - depending on the car brand it cán be helpful!)

I read the GT manual and there's a screen shot which shows there's a provision to use your own cars, I'm guessing they're just working on making the current system stable before adding complexities.

I've been enjoying this race, unfortunately the rooms are really small (i.e. me and someone else). I tend to stick to Motegi this time around, people tend to be more aggressive but there's more competition.

Never use Open Lobby as with no community features its a bit of a lottery, quick match is a nice quick racing fix to break the monotomy of seasonal time trials and races.

I've noticed that the system has been a lot more stable since the latest batch of races were added last week. Best car for the Indy event is the Sauber, while I've been running the F458 at Motegi. Both should be good enough for the win. Traction Control 1 on the Sauber only F458 is already really nicely balanced.

OP finally updated!

There is something I must say though... Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread, @GRANKUSTOM, @BOSS_335. @tankuroded, @dimassa19, @DefytheMachine, @sk8er913 and @jontikis. Without you's I highly doubt this thread would be as informative as it is. I also need to thank everyone who supported this idea, everyone above, @Johnnypenso, @GTP_CargoRatt and anyone else I may have forgotten. I cannot stress enough the importance of everyone's contribution and support for this thread. Thank you!!

So quick match quickly becomes an all in brawl so PDs response is to make all events include Racing Cars! This week should be interesting.

Is the 'coming soon' box doing anyone else's head in? What can it be!

Events are:

Super GT @ trial mountain
GT3 @ nurburgring gp/d
Prototypes @ Laguna Secs
Rally @ Toscana

Hmm... these events sound pretty good. Not too sure about the Super GT though... Trial Mountain isn't a great track for them. Looking forward to the Rally Cars at Toscana, that should be fun if you are lucky enough to get into a clean room.

I think the "Coming Soon" box will be made active in an upcoming update and may just be another box for the same kind of events as the usual. I hope to be proved wrong that the box isn't the same-old kind of events and is reserved for a special kind of event.

But do the new quick match events mean we get no new seasonal events?
We still get new Seasonal Events. The Quick Match events have no bearing on the Seasonal's so no need to worry.

EDIT- OP Updated

We had new seasonals on:

1-10
24-9
17-9
10-9
3-9

So all with a spread of 1 week.

Yet on 8-10 we have no new ones.
But as the old seasonals have an end date of 9-10 it probably won't be long.

Trial Mountain is reverse, which should be interesting.

I'm hoping 'coming soon' relates to shuffle but I think it'll be events where you can use your own vehicle.

Maybe, based of what you think, it'll be an event where you are given a list of cars that can enter but you are able to use your own as long as it meets the specs and is on the list, you will also be allowed to tune.

That would be good and get more hardcore online racers racing in Quick Match. But that probably won't happen. Seems to complex for PD to implement in Quick Match.

New Seasonal Events for a very long time coming every Thursday (GMT) of the week. So do not worry, tomorrow coming new Time and Drift events.

Quick Match events are changed every Tuesday.

Did you know that the rally quick match is the first ever quick match featuring standard cars? (206, Lancer SRC, Accent) :D Other selectable cars include the 2008 WRC cars (C4, Focus, Impreza, SX4) and the Celica GT-FOUR ST205.

I wonder why they don't put the Quattro or any other Group B cars. :indiff:

Thanks for the car list! I think why they didn't put the Group B's in as it probably would have out balanced the parity.

So far the only thing I really really don't like very much is the rubberbanding...
As mentioned above, rooms self clean after a while and you end up running with descent folks, but the rubberbanding is absurd...

Do all events have rubber banding or is it just the non expert events? I haven't noticed in the events running GT3 or LMP cars.
