I wish this 650pp event at nordschliffle was 24h circuit along with slow as like Sierra time rally. To make it feel like a real nurb 24h race 1 lap stint. :P

LMP quick match has now silently changed. It's at Fuji now.

Cars:

R10 TDI (50 kg ballast)
908 HDi FAP Total (150 kg ballast)
TS030
R18 TDI
908 HDi FAP Oreca (150 kg ballast)

Also, you forget to seperate the Lancer Super Rally Car and Hyundai Accent, @NW48 ;)

I can't really tell, but I think at Indy I experienced it a bit, or I was driving with people more rubbish than me... Since after a big spin I took, I caught the pack very easily, sadly after that the race ended... If it would have been a 5 lap race I might have been able to prove it...
Do all events have rubber banding or is it just the non expert events? I haven't noticed in the events running GT3 or LMP cars.

I've seen my lap times improve by a second or so when drafting in second place In the GT3 race at the ring, but if the guy in front is fast enough you still won't be able to catch them.

Trial mountain is crazy though, I've come from behind and it feels like you've got magnet pulling you up the road. Could also be the fact that your racing through a battlefield. I'll have to save some replays and review lap times to confirm.

I wonder what the "coming soon" is, it's bugging me... Hmm maybe 2015 FIA official GT Championship?

I thought it might be a new game mode but I noticed during the week that when the server was overloaded (ie crashing all the time) the number of events dropped and there were two 'coming soon' events. That leads me to believe they're just limiting the number of events until they stabilise the servers.

I was certain they were going to add shuffle racing under quick match, but now I doubt it. I can't believe it hasn't made a return to the series in GT6.

Makes sense that the FIA championship would be implemented through a quick match type system, but it would require some sort of ranking system which is obviously not currently available.

Well, in the article in June, it said it would be separated into national and international categories :D sound familiar?

It's not for everyone true.
It's more like demolition derby.
I'm enjoying it (when I can stay connected) for what it is "just fun "
Some one in a match I was in who was dive bombing and blocking and weaving all over the place messaged me and told me to " learn how to drive "

I don't have time to join a league or to race in online lobbies so it gives me (the casual racer) a chance to have a go against other people (albeit lunatics in general )
I have found if you stay with a race for a while the lunatics get wheedled out and you can end up with some sensible folk in the matches.

Weight penalties don't work, I got owned down the straight in a TS030 vs the 908.

That happened to you as well. I did the exact thing (use a TS030), gapped them through the corners but on the straight got absolutely monstered by a 908.

Guess Im just a gt muppet cause I love the quick matches. As mentioned earlier, I cant usually get into a lobby and when I do, there seems to be a "cliqueiness" about most that's just off putting. Once you get past the jokes, there are some great drivers in quick match and I have had some enthralling sessions. Love it. Also don't mind the radical drivers, just sharpens the reflexes avoiding them. Bring it on.......love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week:

Prototype Race Car Battle (International) @ Fuji F (3 laps): R10 TDI (50 kg penalty), 908 HDi FAP Oreca (150 kg penalty), TS030, R18 TDI, 908 HDi FAP Total (150 kg penalty)
650 PP Racing Car (Expert) @ Cote d'Azur (3 laps): same carset as previous but now with the blank and RJN YouTube GT-Rs
Rally Car Battle (International) @ Matterhorn Riffelsee (2 laps): same carset as previous
Ferrari 458 One Make Battle (Expert) @ Big Willow (2 laps): Ferrari 458 Italia '09 only

:)

In fact Prototype Race Car Battle (International) on Fuji F is the same event that was replaced 700PP Racing Car Battle / International event on Laguna Seca, and there no changes since it started; same track, same race conditions and same cars, just the expiration date of the event is updated.

So I think that the correction that was made in OP (Quick Match Events 4) where for 700PP Race Car Battle changed only track is not completely correct.

Although race conditions were the same in both of these events they differ by their title, track and cars may be used.

OP Updated with the new events. Thanks to everyone who has helped out again with the last two weeks, I deeply appreciate it! I cannot thank you guy's enough!

@NW48 sorry for nagging again, but I think the rally carset list should be written like this:
206 Rally Car
Lancer Super Rally Car
Hyundai Accent
C4 WRC '08
Focus WRC '08
Impreza WRC '08
SX4 WRC '08
Celica GT-FOUR ST205 Rally Car

You also forget to add the RJN GT-R to the available car list for this week's 650 PP race, and the R18 is '11, not '10 ;)

Had a run on the Matterhorn Rally event using the Subaru Impreza, it's another brutal event which will leave you battered and bruised. I've hardly used this layout of the track so I was a real battle getting into the mix with the limited practice time between the events. It seems that the Lancer is the weapon of choice here, with the steep ascent over the second half of the lap you really need something with a bit of torque to pull you up the hill. I had mixed results with the Subaru, it handles well but it doesn't seem to have the beans to keep up with the Lancer if being driven by someone who knows how to drive it.

Things to note:

  • Watch your back off the line, people are scrambling everywhere for track position, it's narrow and one wheel off the road can see you spin if you're not careful.
  • You need to brake early for the first sharp right or you launch your car into orbit (which looks pretty cool, and doesn't appear to cost too much time, but is not very "sim" like, lol).
  • People intentionally brake late going wide through the downhill right hander and make up ground running off the track on the Tarmac for the other track layout (there are no penalties for this).
  • Watch your back going up the hill, it's really easy to get turned around, or run off the road. I intentionally gave people room on the inside of the sweeping left when they got a run on me and they still felt the need to run me off the track.
  • There's a nice patch of gravel on the inside of the last turn, use it as it helps you maintain speed and there are no penalties for doing so.
Hope this helps.

I totally agree, i like willow springs you dont get many bashers on there i just wish they were 5 laps long instead
of 2 or 3 but great fun and theres alot of clean racers in quick match aswell

Sorry it did"nt say who i was agreeing with -joeledward-.

What do you guy's think they'll do for the 5th option (the coming soon box) ?

Ability to use our own car within the restricted parameters or do you think thats where they'll incorporate shuffle racing ?

Woops my bad! That's what I get for rushing it before I left for Race of Stars. I'll get that fixed tonight.

Hi

I found Willow was messing about tonight, I entered a number of races & started 16th position in each race when there wasn't 16 cars (normally less than 8). Also I won a few times but it classed me as 2nd each time & one lap behind 1st place.

Seems like there's been a few issues in this batch of Quick Match Events.

The track limits at stowe are a little... non existant.
My best lap time so far is 59.6

The TR-XX has the best straight line speed but the OFC has the best handling from my experience.

Let's see they either slide through as a ghost in the corners or hammer you from all sides. Of course it's better than the 500 PP race, there everyone gets in a clump in the first turn & the system throws you into a black screen. Then the "you have been disconnected from the server". No kidding Sherlock!!
Went from 3 laps to 2, what's up with that?

Carset for this week:
700 PP Racing Car Battle (Expert, Rome): same with the last time at Indy
Rally Car Battle (Expert, Cape Ring North): same as last week
K-Car Battle (International, Silverstone Stowe): OFC-1, Copen Active Top, Mira TR-XX Avanzanto R, i-MiEV, Cervo SR, AZ-1, Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappucino (EA11R and EA21R)
500 PP Sports Car Battle (International, Autumn Ring): same as last time

:)
