Reventón;3305695The SS is $30K?! Almost regret that fact that I've started spending money on the Acura. Might be room for the Si to be replaced. Seriously, when are these suckers hitting the showroom?
Nothin' a few mods can't change. One word of caution on the $30K sticker, I'm not sure if the stick is a no-cost option or not. Keep in mind that the models with the manual will have 426 BHP, using the same LS3 V8 from the Corvette. The Camaro SS models equipped with a six-speed automatic will use the same basic V8, albeit equipped with a cylinder shutoff mode, and in that form the L99 will make "only" 400 BHP.
Either way, this field offers up some very different cars for a pretty good price ($30K).
Good point....I'll probably wait til' the SS are in a decent supply on the used market. You know Chevy dealers are going to mark it up like crazy though. Hell, Potamkin Hyundai wants 44 thousand bucks for their first delivery of 380GTs.
Brad, you do realize when your dad gets the SS, you have to let me know how she runs. I'm eager to see what everyone else is doing to them besides these big modding companies like Hennessey.I'm not counting on the dealers marking them up too much around here, but I could be wrong. We've yet to get the call on the SS my Dad has his name on, so, time will tell.
But if they were marking up Genesis sedans, whats the likelyhood of marking up the Gen Coupes?

Thought you'd never ask :
Can someone put all in one post, the prices of the Genesis Coupe Track/R-Spec models (in 4cyl and V6 guise), the Camaro (possibly RS?) V6 and V8, the Mustang V6 and V8, and the Challenger V6 and V8? Any other sports coupes in this category too?
Edit: The Genesis with sports exhaust in the video Omnis posted sounds b-e-a-utiful.
Edit 2: Did it myself.
Base Camaro LS V6: $22,995
Camaro RS V6: $26,400
Camaro SS: $30,995
Base Nissan 370Z: $29,930
Nissan 370Z Touring: $34,460
Base Mustang V6: $21,845
Mustang GT: $27,995
Base Challenger V6: $22,545
Challenger SRT8: $39,995
Base Genesis Coupe 2.0T: $22,000
Genesis 2.0T R-Spec: $23,750
Genesis 3.8 Track: $29,500
They actually are marking up the coupes... at least one dealer is down here. Like I said, they wanted near 40 grand. In two months any mark up should go away though.
So, anyway, Hyundai just announced a new supercharged Tau V8.
Probably gets 500hp with a good set of headers. If it's true that the Tau and Lambda share the same motor mounts, we could see one of these swapped into a Coupe some day. Hood bulge incoming.
You may want to add the Dodge Challenger R/T to that list, removing the SRT-8. The R/T has an MSRP of $29,995 and I don't believe the Track Pack is all that much of an add on.
If the turbo 4 does indeed share bits with the Evo, I doubt most tuners would even bother with any other engine. Kind of like how VW tuners get 400 horsepower out of the TSI motor and ignore the VR6 entirely.Probably gets 500hp with a good set of headers. bmw already had a straight six with over 100 hp per liter in the e46 m3...
e36 m3.
technically, the e36 missed 100hp/liter by a couple hp.
/nitpicking.
Is Hyundai's 3.8L V6 or Nissan's 3.7L V6 direct injection?
