As requested, the Toyota Supra Twin Turbo 3.0 GT will take on the Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX in the battle for best 80's sportscar.

Toyota Supra Twin Turbo 3.0 GT

Bhp - 236
Torque - 228.41 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1570 Kg
Drivetrain - FR

400 Meters Time - 15.497 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 28.061 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 155.52 Mph

Infineon Raceway Stock Car Course Lap Time - 1'33.391

The Supra had lots of wheelspin in gear one from a standing start, when that had cleared, the accelration was quite fast, but it's weight held it back, over 1500 Kg.

A final 400 meters time of 15.497 seconds could do with some improoving.

At Infineon, I found the Supra quite a fun car to drive, once I had got over the way the gears always seem to need to go down 1 more than they need to, I was taking most corners in gear 2, and some in gear 1.

I felt some understeer, especilly on the first few uphill corners, I got used to it after a lap or 2, and now I was driving as well as I could with the car.

The brakes could do with some improoving, they are'nt that powerful, and are sometimes hard to keep control of.

Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX

Bhp - 228
Torque - 221.91 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1380 Kg
Drivetrain - FR

400 Meters Time - 14.867 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 28.061 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 160.91 Mph

Infineon Raceway Stock Car Course Lap Time - 1'32.395

The Nissan had wheelspin just like the Supra at the 400 meters, exept, when I shifted to gear 2, the accelration was much quicker and smoother, this resulted in the Nissan beating the Supra's 400 meter time by 0.6 seconds.

The fast accelration kept going as the Nissan produced a 1000 meters time of 26.884 seconds, 1.2 faster than the Supra.

Then, the Nissan reached 160.91 Mph, 5 Mph faster than the Supra could reach.

This is due to the fact that the Nissan is 190 Kg lighter than the Supra.

At Infineon, it just kept getting better for the Nissan, much faster through the corners, but accelrating out to early can slow you down alot.

The handling is great entering corners, good, strong brakes, and if you keep the speed right, you'll be fine exiting aswell.

The only bad thing about the Nissan that really stood out is that it was very unstable through the light turns of Infineon, while the Supra could drive through fine, the Nissan was swaying sometimes.

After 6 laps I manged a time of 1'32.395, nearly 1 second faster than the Supra.

Conclusion

The Nissan is a much better all round car than the Supra, faster accelration, better top speed, I reccomend it, both cars cost between 14,000-16,000, so they are'nt very expensive.

You should do the 350Z vs. the 300ZX Z32. Or the Supra RZ vs. the Z32. A quick question: were they 6.2 Mi. versions or normal used cars, because you can get 6.2 miles versions of each in the NTSC version.
Edit: Which I just noticed you didn't have.

Well I don't know, I was hoping to do a big comparison next, I was thinking either, Supra,Skyline,Impreza etc. Or, Ford RS200, Delta HF, Audi Quartro etc.

The Delta HF and Audi quattro really can't compare with the RS200. They are too heavy and the engine is in the wrong pace. The RS200 is fast enough to challenge the top of the line Lancer Evo. You want to do a super test? How about the top of the line Japanese cars (Evo 8 MR, GT-R V-Spec II NUR, NSX-R, RX-7 Spirit R Type A, WRX STI RA Spec C), or have all of the RUF's battle it out..

This is the ultimate Japanese car battle the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R, Nissan Skyline GT-R NUR, Mitsubushi Evolution 8, Subaru Impreza WRX Spec C and Honda NSX Type R will battle it out to see who will be crowned the best Japanese sports car.

Mazda RX-7 Spirit Type R

Bhp - 297
Weight - 1270 Kg
Transmission - 5 Speed
Drivetrain - FR

400 Meters - 13.679 Seconds

1000 Meters - 24.620 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 171.65 Mph

Fuji Speedway 90's Lap Time - 1'44.323

The Mazda RX-7 is a great car, no wheelspin, brilliant accelration, and a good top speed of around 175 Mph (redline limited).

At Fuji, it felt great, it did'nt understeer at all, very fast through the corners, and good acceration on the straights.

The brakes are very good aswell, powerful, and easy to keep control of.

After 3 laps, my best time was 1'44.323

Nissan Skyline GT-R V Spec II N1 (R34)

Bhp - 333
Weight - 1550 Kg
Transmission - 6 Speed
Drivetrain - 4WD

400 Meters Time - 13.309 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 24.392 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 168.24 Mph

Fuji Speedway 90's Lap Time - 1'43.641

At Test Course, the Skyline produced two very promising 400 and 1000 Meter times, but could only reach 168 Mph at Max Speed.

At Fuji the Skyline was similar to the RX-7, but it had more understeer, especilly at turns 1 and 4.

At the chicane, it is'nt very hard to loose lots of speed by turning either to late or to hard, especilly when your driving a 4WD like the Skyline.

The brakes are very good though, and 4WD helped me to stay in control and produce a lap time of 1'43.641

Mitsubushi Evolution VIII GSR

Bhp - 321
Weight - 1410 Kg
Gearbox - 5 Speed
Drivetrain - 4WD

400 Meters Time - 13.332 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 24.377 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 169.70 Mph

Fuji Speedway 90's Lap Time - 1'44.968

The Evo was very fast at 400 Meters, beating the RX-7 and nearly getting past the Skyline. It got better at 1000 Meters where the Evo beat both the RX-7 and Skyline. Then at Max Speed, the Evo redlined out at 169.93 Mph, beating the Skyline.

The Evo has understeer like the Skylines, maybe ebcause they're both 4WD, the Evo is also lighter than the Skyline.

The brakes are fantastic, amazing power and easy to keep under control, this meant I was able to brake later to save time.

But, despite amazing brakes and being a light car, the Evo lacks power, and produced a time of 1'44.968, 0.3 slower than the RX-7, and 1.3 seconds slower than the Skyline.

Honda NSX Type R

Bhp - 295
Weight - 1270Kg
Transmission - 6 Speed
Drivetrain - MR

400 Meters Time - 13.271 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 24.012 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 180.30 Mph

Fuji Speedway 90's Lap Time - 1'41.877
I predicted the NSX would take the Test Course by storm, I was correct, it beat the EVO, Skyline and RX-7 at each test, producing times of 13.271 seconds (400), 24.012 seconds (1000) and reaching an astonishing top speed of 180.30 Mph and it still had'nt redlined.

At Fuji the NSX remained at it's best, it had a bit of understeer, more than the RX-7, but not as much as the Skyline, it was much faster than any other car on the straights, and very fast through the corners.

The brakes are'nt as good as the EVO's but ar still very good, and easy to keep control of.

After 3 laps, my best lap was 1'41.877, nearly 2 seconds faster than the Skyline.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C

Bhp - 326
Weight - 1370 Kg
Drivetrain - 4WD
Transmission - 6 Speed

400 Meters Time - 12.490 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 23.310 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 171.23 Mph

Fuji Speedway 90's Lap Time - 1'43.550

The Impreza is well known for it's fast 400 meter times when modified, but it can also produce extremelly fast times stock, it beaten the NSX's time by 0.8 seconds, and it's 1000 meter time by 0.7 seconds.

But the NSX kept the max speed title as the Impreza reached 171.23 Mph.

The Impreza had quite a bit of understeer on turn 1 at Fuji, I did'nt go of the track, but I was driving nearer to the outside than inside on lap 1.

The Imprezas breaks are better than the EVO's, more power and more control.

After the 3 laps, I recored my best time which was 1'43.550, which places it second on he Fuji Speedway times board.

So, the Nsx is the winner, followed by the Impreza, then the Skyline finishes third, with the Evo and RX-7 tied 4th and 5th.

The Impreza has amazing acceration, and only costs around 30,000

The RX-7 is very fast, but lacks accelration compared to the other contenders.

The Mitsubushi is a light car, and can reach around 173 Mph before topping out.

The Skyline is extremelly popular with many people, and is a good track racer.

The NSX is brilliant, good cornering, and it can reahc amazing speeds, it is also very good on the track.

Enjoy, please comment :)

I'm guessing the NSX-R, followed very closely by the RX-7.
George, when you do these in the future can you please show the garage screen power numbers after you buy it instead of the numbers it shows you before you buy it. It is very difficult to gauge why some cars are beating other ones when all of them are listed as "276." For example, the Skyline has more than 330 BHP when you look at the garage screen if you don't perform an oil change.

Thanks. When you put the actual power numbers it shows perspective alot more and explains why cars finish where they do. Probably your best write up yet, though I would still buy the RX-7 over any of the other choices. Some +Rep to you.

Thanks, I think I'm better at 4+ car comparisons, (thinks back to Supercar Comparison).

Any more requests will be accepted, road cars please.

And I'd prefer a 4+ car comparison, thanks.

Next comparison will be old American Le Mans race cars.

Chapparel 2J
Corvette C1
Ford GT40
etc

Let me know what you think about the idea.

I was thinking of requesting an American Muscle comparison, but there are SO many cars in that category it would be rather lengthy. I'm thinking you don't want to do more than 4-6 at a time? Because I had made a list of muscle cars and there are around a dozen.

So instead maybe you can compare some old sports cars against their modern-day equivalents:

Chevrolet Camaro SS '69
Chevrolet Camaro SS '00
Shelby Mustang GT350R '65
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R '00
Pontiac GTO '64
Pontiac GTO '04

Next comparison, following Luca's muscle car request, the best 6 old muscle cars (in my opinion) will battle it out.

Buick Special
A/C Cobra
Dodge Hemi Super Bee
Chevrolet Chevelle
Plymouth Superbird
Camaro SS

I would like to request:

Toyota Supra RZ '97 vs. Mitsubishi 3000GT VR'4 '96 vs. Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R '96-'97.

Those were my favorit three in GT1 👍

Ok, but first I need to do a few things.

Win a Dodge Super Bee (sold other one)
Complete Luca's request.
Find a 3000GT VR4.

This request includes the best muscle cars, the Dodge Charger Super Bee, Buick Special, Shelby Cobra, Plymouth Superbird and Chevrollet Camaro SS will battle it out at Seattle to see who will be crowned king of American Muscle.

Dodge Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi

Bhp - 431
Torque - 479.90 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1841 Kg

400 Meters Time - 14.416 Seconds

Seattle Lap Time - 1'49.998

The Charger is the newest muscle car in this comparison (1981), does it mean it's the best?

For starters, it still has the 4 speed gearbox, but the gears are much shorter than on cars such as the Superbird.

It also has quite a bit less understeer then older muscle cars, it still has some, but not as much.

The shorter gears helped at 400 Meters, I produced a time of 14.416 seconds, not bad for a car weighing in at nearly 2 tons.

The gears help at Seattle aswell, I noticed the brakes seem to be quite strong aswell, I managed a lap time of 1'49.998, not bad.

Shelby Cobra 427

Bhp - 492
Weight - 1068 Kg
Torque - 480.19 Ft.Lbs

400 Meter Time - 11.865 Seconds

Seattle Lap Time - 1'40.919

The Shelby is nearly 800 Kg lighter than the Super Bee, and has more Bhp and Torque.

It's extremelly light body and short gears helped it produce a brilliant 400 meters time of 11.865 seconds, nearly 3 seconds faster than the Super Bee.

The great performence continued to Seattle, very light, no understeer either, the gears are short, but I am still able to reach speeds of 140 Mph on the straights without redlining.

Very fast through corners aswell, I was able to produce a lap time of 1'40.919, thats over 9 seconds faster than the Super Bee!

Plymouth Superbird

Bhp - 431
Weight - 1755 Kg
Torque - 490.32 Ft.Lbs

400 Meters Time - 13.750 Seconds

Seattle Lap Time - 1'51.711

The Superbird has'nt got very powerful brakes, and has more understeer than most muscle cars, but, has a lot of torque, I pulled of a 400 meter time of 13.750 seconds.

The turning circle is'nt that good either, in the practise laps, I hit the chicane more times than I did'nt, luckily I was o.k for the timed lap.

The Superbird, is'nt just one of the biggest muscle cars, it's probaly near the top of the list of the biggest cars of Gran Turismo 4, it's huge body dosen't always help when driving around city track such as Seattle, I could manage a 1'51.711 as my best, nearly 2 seconds slower than the Super Bee, and over 10 seconds slower than the Cobra.

Buick Special

Bhp - 586
Torque - 585.79 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1364 Kg

400 Meters Time - 12.600 Seconds

Seattle Lap Time - 1'39.712

The Buick is a far more powerfull car than any other in this test on paper, but how will it compare on the track?

At the 400 Meters, the Buick had no wheelspin, but weight held it back from beating the Cobra, a time of 12.600 seconds.

At Seattle, the Buick was brilliant, reaching 145+ Mph on the straights.

The speed you can take corners with the Buick compared to the other muscle cars is very fast, I improoved my lap time by 4 seconds by learning that.

Very little understeer, very good turning and brakes, fast on the straights, it beaten the Shelby Cobra by over a second!

Chevrollet Camaro SS

Bhp - 299
Torque - 380.45 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1401 Kg

400 Meters Time - 13.889 Seconds

Seattle Lap Time - 1'50.201

The Camaro is by far the car with the least power in this comparison, while it's near the 300 Bhp mark, the others are nearer the 500 (Buick 600) mark.

But still, it weights 1,401 Kgs, thats less than the Superbird and Super Bee, and has'nt got bad accelration.

At 400 meters, the Camaro just scraped a 4th place, beating the Super Bee by 0.6 seconds.

At Seattle, I thought I'd need to pull of a brilliant lap just to stay close to the others lap times, well, I learnt the Camaro has great turning abilities and good brakes, as I came onto lap 3, I was thinking maybe I could beat the last placed Superbird.

I did, a lap time of 1'50.201 secured the Camaro 4th place for both the 400 Meters and the lap of Seattle.

Conclusion

Buick - For under 60,000, the Buick is yours, and it's one of the best deals on the game, brilliant acceration, great cornering speed, and dose'nt top out at 130 like the average muscle car, the 6 speed transmission and V8 engine will go on to 200Mph.

Shelby - Again, a brilliant car, but costs nearly 550,000, to be honest, it's worth that much (despite being brilliant).

Plymouth - A huge car, this is won from the American Hall. Lot's of understeer and very heavy.

Camaro - This costs more than the Buick, and has nearly half the Bhp and Torque, and it's heavier.

Super Bee - Here we have a great looking car, but it is'nt that good compared to the others in this test, heavy and slow, the Super Bee is won from the New York eundurence.

Enjoy reading, please comment :)

Why not throw the Alfa 147 in there too? That's one of the most powerful FWD cars you can get.

EDIT: Disregard, I see you already did the 147 earlier. BTW, rep++ for you George Morley, you rawk.

This comparison will be the battle of the FF's, Ford Taurus, Acura CL, Dodge SRT and the Peugeot 406

Ford Taurus

Bhp - 238
Torque - 229.36 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1509 Kg

400 Meters Time - 15.666 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 28.017 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 156.80 Mph

Trail Mountain Lap Time - 1'53.331

The Taurus set a very promising top speed of 156 Mph at the Test Course with two good 400 (15.666) and 1000 (28.017) times to go with it.

The first thing I noticed at Trail Mountain is the Taurus has loads of understeer, out of all the cars I've ever compared, this has the most (so far).

I had to take some of the corners exeptionally slowly just to stay on the course, let alone just to keep to the racing line.

The brakes are very good, but don't make up for the understeer.

After 4 laps, my best time was 1'53.331.

Peugeot 406 V6 Coupe

Bhp - 206
Torque - 209.90 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1560 Kg

400 Meters Time - 16.222 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 28.976 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 141.66 Mph (Redline Limited)

Trail Mountain Lap Time - 1'51.388

The Peugeot just lost out to the Taurus at 400 and 1000 meters, and it's redline limiter maxed it out at 141 Mph, so it was'nt going any further there.

But at Trail Mountain it felt much better than the Taurus, it felt like it had no understeer compared to the huge Ford before it, and because of the fact it had hardly any understeer, I could take corners much quicker, resulting in faster lap times.

It was'nt just the corner handling though, the brakes are also very strong and easy to stay in control of.

My final lap time was 1'51.388, the Taurus was beaten.

Acura CL 3.2 Type S

Bhp - 260
Torque - 231.45 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1563 Kg

400 Meters Time - 15.586 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 27.482 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 157.35 Mph

Trail Mountain Lap Time - 1'49.983

The Acura is by quite a lot the most powerful car in this comparison, but is also the heaviest.

At Test Course, it just stole the win from the Tarus for each test (400 - 15.586, 1000 - 27.482, Max Speed - 157.35 Mph).

I found the Acura to have quite a bit of understeer, especilly in the first half of Trail Mountain, not as much as the Taurus, but not as little as the Peugeot.

The brakes are very good and easy to keep control under.

After 4 laps, my best time was 1'49.983, beating the Peugeot and Taurus.

Dodge SRT 4

Bhp - 212
Torque - 244.47 Ft.Lbs
Weight - 1350 Kg

400 Meters Time - 15.456 Seconds

1000 Meters Time - 27.281 Seconds

Max Speed Test - 145.49 (Redline Limited)

Trail Mountain Lap Time - 1'47.086

The Dodge has great accelration, and snatched the top spot for 400 and 1000 meters (15.456 (400) 27.281 (1000)).

It went downhill then as the redline limiter came in at 145 Mph, placing the Dodge 3rd on the Max Speed table.

The Dodge has more understeer than all the cars exept the Taurus, going wide quite often, but making up for it on the straights.

The brakes are good, not brilliant, but easy to keep control of.

After 4 laps, I manged a time of 1'47.086, beating all the other cars in the test.

Acura - Very fast car, nice on tracks with short or long straights.

Peugeot - Good handling, can comete well with cars with around 200 Bhp.

Ford - Terrible understeer, heavy, slow accelration, but quite fast.
