The C7R isn't in, though, is it? And the road car has a different exhaust configuration which means it wouldn't sound like that anyway. Any mods to make it sound like that are likely to give less usable power first, so probably wouldn't be popular in the real world!

But the new sounds aren't going to be in at launch, so if you start the game up come the 6th of December expecting a massive improvement, then you did it to yourself.

It would be nice, though, if the samples used were at least reasonably close to the right sound, certainly at least the same engine configuration would help.

Your obviously right Griffith :) the C6R sounds very similar to the new C7R and as we know they changed the exhaust sounds from the C6 ZR1 RM in one update. Well i don't expect much improvement to be honest...lets wait an listen.

With all the great features coming to GT6 I'm totally prepared to overlook the sound (to some extent)..

That's what being an unapologetic fanboy does to ya.... ;-)

Why can't PD get their act together with the horrific audio? I would rather have a car sound awesome than it sounding like vacuum cleaners and dentist drills and garage tools. The shifting isn't right either. If it sounds the same when it's stock then that's only ok as long as it sounds awesome when upgraded with parts.

Please be in game sound..... :nervous:

The AMG sports exhaust system with eight tailpipes integrated into the rear end provides a powerful accompaniment whenever the car accelerates, and ensures an unrivalled motorsports sound experience.

For fans of Gran Turismo® 6, the Mercedes-AMG sound specialists have created a powerful, sonorous exhaust note that authentically celebrates the V8′s love of high engine speeds.

When PD says it's due to a RAM limitation in the PS3 I believe them.

There are limitations, and if we have to compromise on something I'd want it to be the sound, not the graphics or physics.

So why do the GTR - the lotus evora - the ford GT-40 - the Jaguar xkr-8 - the SL Mercedes - the Corvette and a handful of other cars sound perfect??

heres a new Video from Jordan...

as you can hear, NOTHING has changed...

First I thought.. Cool, the SLS has a really great sound, but then I realized it was the Ford GT behind it :-(

So no new sounds at all + they are still too stupid to, at least, use sounds which are similar.

I don´t even want to talk about sound-effects on shifting etc.

Sound is and will still be dissapointing.
If it is very complicated to make new engine sounds, why don´t they just add some better BOV, transmission and other SFX sounds here and there.

Free iPad and browser games make better shifting and BOV sounds than GT5 / 6

There's some serious shadow issues in that vid.

The sound of most cars on GT5 sounds like its spot on at idle and low revs then its streched out into this digitaly sounding crap.

To the people who are worried about the cars that sound like garbage in Jordan's video, don't worry. The build of the game was released on November 3rd 2013, so that means that the game was incomplete at the time, so don't judge until the game releases on December 6th. Second, because the video was taken offscreen, the sound quality isn't the best so don't conclude that the car sounds are garbage.

You can still hear it's the same old samples even if the sound quality is bad.

When you can recognize the same samples over and over again it's not a matter of quality. Yes the quality of the video isn't the best but it's clearly audible that the SLS is still using the same V12 sample as before. It doesn't surprise me anyway, it's GT afterall and if they say the sound fix won't make it on release day then why are we looking for the new sounds in these "demo" builds.

I guess we gotta wait until PD releases a trailer to promote the sounds in the game

Spot on. I don't understand why people are digging through these videos looking for sounds when we already know that some of the cars have been mildly upgraded at launch but the new sounds won't be out till later...

Another big surprise....a thundering 6.2L V8 in real life sounds like a vacuum cleaner in GT6. Good job as usual.
I gave up any hope from now on and will drive the 10 or so cars that sound remotely good and lifelike...just like in GT5.

Wasn't expecting a big leap in sounds in GT6 compared to GT5 so not dissapointed but just watched a review of the new forza 5 and forgot what the GT series is missing in the sound quality… hopefully the next generation GT game will address those issues because it adds so much immersion into a racing title! it should be number 1 priority for the next GT game!!!

I know. But I strongly doubt i(t's going to be changed in the final version. I even doubt it's going to be changed in an update, other than in the same way some sounds changed during GT5's lifetime.

I think they can fix the sounds through an update. They had 3 years (or even more if GT5 counts) to fix at least the sounds of the premium cars.

They probably can. The question is if they will.
This. Everyone hangs on Kaz' lips again because he mentioned "they were looking into it and maybe they will update it later on" which in PD terms means nothing... I don't see them changing the sound samples on 1000+ cars that sound like crap now to be honest.

they wouldn't have to… there is not 1000 types of motor available, go generic for the BASE (v8/V12/V10/Flat Six/etc…) then tweak with particular engine tone from there…. if a Gran Turismo race car sound like a REAL race car, people would be happy nonetheless even with a generic V8 GT for the SLS GT for example , it's when your SLS GT sounds like a mopped or a vacuum cleaner that you piss off everybody…
