Normal people that aren't into cars won't know its spec'd like a baby Ferrari. I meant asking purely on the way it looks, does it look like its price?

Yes, absolutely, have you seen one in the flesh? It looks a lot more substantial than you might think. There's not mistaking what it says :)

No I haven't, would love to though. Is it really Mito sized (length wise)?

I've only seen a showroom mockup. It's low, compact, but looks a lot wider and more aggressive than some of the pictures show. I really think this car is going to go down in history as the first real lightweight energy-efficient*, 'inexpensive' crossover. It really looks very good.

I live just outside Wilmslow so I'm looking forward to seeing how the top spec ones look as they zoom past me on my commute :D

*The McLaren P1 with its 800bhp recharging generator is arguably in a different class :)

Again, normal 'non car' people. People who are actually going to buy this thing will know EVERYTHING past and present.
Non car people are less likely to know about the 20 year old coupe than they are the four-year old sports car, I suspect. I'm struggling to see why that's a difficult concept to grasp.

And I already answered your other question:
The 4C is pretty much supercar-like in the metal.
It's wider, lower and shorter than a Ferrari 360, to pick a random car that you'd also never mistake for an Alfa GTV.

Dimensions

Alfa 4C

Lenght: 3989mm > 157.04 inch

Width: 1864mm > 73.39 inch

Height: 1183mm > 46.57 inch

Wheelbase: 2380mm > 93.7 inch

Alfa Mito

Lenght: 4063mm > 159.96 inch

Haha, yep :D

It's really cleverly styled, from the front it doesn't look anything as substantial as it is. It's even quite hard to find a pic of the rear that shows the width, you really have to see one 'in the flesh'. Sadly they're going to be quite rare, or at least the launch edition is.

I saw one here in Ann Arbor. They are indeed impossibly square. A very wide car for it's length.

Finally! Someone else who can explain that it really doesn't look like it's pictures... unless you think it does, of course. It looks quite small and tall on photos, it really isn't, it's a wide but small slab of car :D

It's two different cars and you can't compare them but the Alfa dealer that had the 4C (see pics I took on #232) has an 8C as well.

Pure size wise, the 4C looks short and very wide compared to the 8C which looks more ..... normal.

EDIT: the 4C doesn't look odd IMO. It's wide, it's short but not odd.

The pics of the Spider above looks more like a removable top. I like the idea of that. 👍

Anyone notice the headlights?
they said at the 4C Launch that thier will be other options such at Luxurious appointments in the interior and headlamp covering choices. but people got to worked up about the spider eyed headlamps to pay attendtion to the press release

 They did indeed. I think both styles of lights look great.

This may sound weird, but after seeing those photos I think I prefer the crazy LED lights we've previously seen.

Much improved headlight design. I don't care that it makes the car a few pounds heavier, I'll still rather have this revised version.

I wonder how much the different headlight design would cost as an option?

Looks like the 4C will be sold by Maserati and a "few" Fiat dealers here in the US. I really want to see what the dealer markup is going to be at initial availability.

The fixed roof version is already very light, making a spyder version only adds 132 lbs. I want it more.

I'm somewhat surprised they didn't change the much-maligned steering wheel. The car looks glorious in silver with red interior. Do I really need to finish grad school? :/

Absolutely stunning in person :-) if I could purchase one I would but that would take a few years of saving :-)
