The Expressway really does produce some great racing. I’m happy to have shared some great battles along the way. Man that was quite the event!

Our #3 BRCCRT Aston had big speed, but misfortunes put us on the back foot much of the race. Qualifying 3rd, I thought for sure I’d have some work cut out for me in chasing down the front runners....instead I had some work cut out chasing down the whole field lol. I misjudged my braking going into the shipyard and busted up my aero and right front. Fortunately the damage wasn’t that bad and I was still able to hang with everyone as long as I had a tow. As I rallied up through the field, somewhere along the way I pitted for tires and fuel but cut my fuel flow just shy enough to exit with @aceboy127. From there, the race was on for a 3rd place lobby finish. Managing to hold off a very quick Ace, I had my sights set on the doctor...but just after S1 of the final lap my Aston had its last drink of fuel and it was limp mode from there on out.

This’ll probably go down as the hardest race of my ARL career, but it certainly did have me on the edge of my seat. You really never know what’ll happen at Tokyo. Onto the next one.

I think I can start racing again after being unable to do so due to carpal tunnel. I'll put in some practice at Spa with frequent breaks in between. Also I will be remodeling my RSR and make a livery for the Vipers based on Team Oreca. I do apologize for not racing since I was still in wrist braces while I sleep.

Haven't been racing in a while since I've been away on a break, while handling my busy work schedule over the past weeks.

Could never be anymore happy finishing the race in a consistent manner, putting in lap after lap not to wreck the car in the tight circuit. Street circuits aren't my kind of thing, and worse to pair with a turbo car which I'm not very fond of in general. Throughout qualifying and race I went on finding ways to gain a few more tenths around the corners and a few more miles to get about faster and not scratch the wall, the supersofts were utter trash in this case, degrading much faster than expected. Had to change my driving style and aggressiveness to keep the turbo spinning while I hit the gas on.

Though my pit strategy wasn't playing out well as I wasn't on the right set of tire choices and fuel strategy. Went on with defending my position while pushing as much as I could, some good fights were put up but I had to concede due to my struggles everywhere. The last few laps made things worse when I accidentally punched my front right into the wall, and I did it on the opposite to cancel out the yaw.

At that point I considered pitting in for repairs, but decided to go ahead since the gap was good enough to carry to the flag. Not too shabby for a return, but hopefully it would get better.

I wonder when would be the next time I'd be back in action.

Great racing today, had some nice battles with @TurboTacho , I was pretty happy with my strategy too! Looking forward to Spa!
Thank you. It was a great fight there as well as among the other cars vying to get past me on the highways! Though you were much faster down the straights and around the corners while I struggled to keep up with the supersofts in my first stint.

Just wanted to thank everyone for having me on the grid in Lobby B. Had some great battles with @Moby45 , DrSpiderPig, and the highlight battle with @SydViscus which I have shared below. The battle starts just as he comes out of the pits:

Great race.

Man, I was so close to catching Syd's draft to get in on that battle... It was all fun and games until that pesky @7ylerallen put me in the wall. Maybe next time I won't leave such a big hole.

MAPLE PAIN TRAIN ANNOUNCES SEASON 9 DRIVER LINE-UP

MPT Racing Team was the first and likely least surprising Season 9 driver line-up to be announced, as a mid-day presser from Team Principle Viscus confirmed the teams intentions for the new season. MPT has performed strongly both individually and in the teams championship in Season 8, continuing their upward trajectory from the previous season. Viscus had this statement prepared;

"It is with great pleasure and a massive smile that I get to announce to you all that we have come to terms on a contract for each member of Maple Pain Train, and we will be retaining our driver line-up for Season 9, which will mark the third season of the teams existence. We have been tremendously impressed with the performances of our drivers, with @Moby45 leading the gold division, @Sandite5 winning multiple Silver races and fighting for the win in the Silver Championship, and Maple Pain Train in the lead of the Team Championship. The success the team has enjoyed has been overwhelmingly positive for everyone in the team, from top to bottom, and team success is always contingent on the quality and teamwork of its drivers. This, among many other reasons, is what made sticking with this line-up a no-brainer for management."

When asked about potential manufacturer partners for the upcoming season, Viscus had this to add:

"Well, I mean, it's tough. Dodge has been an incredible manufacturer partner this season, consistently providing us with a great platform race in and race out. As is well stipulated in the series rules, however, those finishing top three in each division must switch cars and we are in the enviable predicament of having all three drivers hunting for top three spots in their respective divisions. Also, as a matter of principle we do enjoy the challenge of a new supplier for each new season, and while I cannot provide any hints as to what we may be doing in that department, we can say that our strength as a team has led us to be sought-after by a wide assortment of manufacturers."

Time will tell how the rest of the grid and other teams rosters will look by the start of Season 9 in the ARL Gr.3 Saturday Series, but with only two more dates left on the schedule for this season, expect the news to come fast and furious in the coming weeks. Watch this space for more updates and news from around the ARL.

For the remaining of the season, this is my new livery

Ok so I've been doing a loooot of testing and I have come to the conclusion that I will sBin. A full tank lasts for half a race and softs last for 5 laps on my Ferrari were my first conclusions, so obviously I thought of a one-stop on Mediums. Turns out, no. The mediums also last for 5 laps before reaching the sBin point but they're much slower than softs and brake like 10-15m earlier. So I'm gonna have to try 5S-5S-5S-4M, barring any unexpected crashes, but they're not actually unexpected because I expect that I will crash because 'I have trouble with this course.' 'I have trouble with these tyres.' 'I have trouble with this car.' and 'I'm a beginner!'. However 'I'll do my best' and 'Let's have a clean race!' 'Have a good race!'

For real does anyone have any tips on how to git gud at this 🤬 track?

Best place to start is the circuit experience feature. Watch the video for reference markers, then run the experience until you can gold them if you haven't already. Then jump back in your car and try to extract more out of it. 4 places where alot of time can be gained or lost:
Screenshot_20201203-103841_Samsung Internet.jpg

1. El Rouge (T's 3,4,5) - gotta find the line and the confidence to run the car to the track limits through there with minimal lift.
2. Pouhan (T12) - find the least amount of braking you can use to rotate the car into a shallow entry, coast thru to the apex and commit to the throttle as much to full as possible in exit.
3. Campus (T13,14) - brake early to line up a clean entry, be patient, and focus on a clean and fast exit speed.
4. Turn 18 (hi speed left hander) - Commit. Go out as wide right as you can without incurring a penalty (usually just straddling the white line) and clip the apex. Attempt to get thru here at or as close to full throttle without lifting. Hit it right, and you can set up a good run before the chicane to attempt a pass.

Hope that helps you find some extra time. Good luck.

One thing I would say is try getting more out of the tires, @llNovall said what needed to be said about the course itself, its long, tricky and has a number of corners so there is a lot to be gained or lost on a lap.

The softs and mediums can both do a fuel stint (10 laps) so try getting more out of them. Firstly, if you are squealing the tires around every corner try to make it more smooth and thus less abrasive, smoother driving will also keep the lap times consistent. Secondly, no one here can make 10 lap old softs feel like fresh softs, the lap times will always start to fall off but consider that each pit stop is around 20-30 seconds lost;

10 lap stint: 5 laps on Softs at pace, lets say you fall off by 2 seconds a lap for every lap after 5, which is a lot, thats 10 seconds lost.

5 lap stint: 20 second pit stop after 5 laps is 20 seconds lost.

You will be 10 seconds slower per stint at that rate.

You will never go fast enough to get back that time. My calculations based on my fuel usage is if I 1 stop, thats 32.320 sec. lost in the pits, your three stop would be 1:13.060 lost. Fresh tires or not thats a significant amount of pit time.

My advice would be go do some long stints, and get comfortable with wear. You will have to be careful, slower through corners, braking more reasonably, not going qually pace every lap, but you will learn to make it more consistent. I personally will not go max pace when the tires are good, which takes some patience, but in turn makes the stint more steady and spreads out the life of the tires more, even though at spa no matter what softs after 10 laps are going to be sketchy lol. Think about sustained pace over a stint more than you think about setting fast laps.

Best advice I can give is to try not to be perfect at everything all at once.

Every season i try and set one thing for myself to improve on every season.

I spent one season where i didn't qualify just so i could work on driving in traffic and defending position. (From what I've heard people say lately I've become pretty decent at.)

There was another season where i spent the entire season with my brake bias set completely to the rear so i could learn tire conservation.

Point is, pick a section of track your good at and get great at it. Then the rest of the track will slowly improve without even realizing it.

@PApunk924 @SydViscus @llNovall thanks for all the tips! I’ll do the CE, I’m sure that will help. I really want to do a 1-stop, but I have no confidence in my ability to keep the car on track in slow speed corners. The tip about not going flat out early will help, I will do some more practice. The sBinning is what I’m concerned about with tires, I reach the spin point too early. I’ll try my hardest to make a one stop work though, but I’m really not expecting good results here.
