As a guy that will probably end up at the front of these starts, I'm ok with the reversed grid.

However, I usually see two things that happen. neither of them are intentionally malicious. But any potential wrecks I'll lay blame 50/50 from my experiences on both the 'slower' and the 'faster' drivers.

Scenario 1) the 'slower driver' ,afraid of getting run over, does an unexpected maneuver in an attempt to let the 'faster' driver past. often ending in a wreck.

or (and this is the one I hate)

Scenario 2) the faster driver doesn't show patience and in a hurry to get to the front because the 'slower driver' is 'in their way', runs the slower driver over.

So, the obvious recommendations?

for scenario 1) 'slower driver' runs their race. don't intentionally block of course, but don't just roll over and die either. run your race and run your (predictable) line. if the faster driver is indeed faster, they'll find a safe way around. Hopefully everyone is on chat, 'slower driver' communicate your intent to pull over on a straight or other safe place if you feel the need. (am i out of line here faster drivers? tell us what you want).

and 2) faster drivers show some patience. its a long race. you don't have to get around everyone in the first corner.

my two cents.

Well I wouldn't say I'm one of the "fast drivers" in this league but I can speak as a Gold driver, and please remember that this is my personal opinion and others can chime in with theirs.
I believe you said it perfectly when you mentioned "run your race" and "if the faster driver is indeed faster, they'll find a safe way around"....This is how it should be done 100% of time!

You could stagger the start and have gold drivers start 15 or 20 seconds after the start. This could give the silver drivers enough to time to get a small lead and separate from each other alleviating the congestion at the beginning with 2 different classes.

Perfect idea if the race is only limited to 16 drivers.

True it’s better if you have a full grid but the start time delay could be reduced so we don’t get to spread out like 10 seconds or so. This shouldn’t affect times as everyone would be following the same start time and still give silver the slightest lead to avoid mishaps. Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with Peacock on this. I'm ok with the changes, but it will be up the Silver to run their race and Gold to make clean passes. As someone who has had many incidents of getting pushed off track by a faster driver...well, it sucks.

I've actually had some thoughts about this for a while and have been meaning to bring this up. Gold drivers need to remember, while you are faster and a more informed driver, you're a second faster per lap. This is over 3+ miles usually. Tenths of a second, if that, per turn...a couple of feet. I know it sucks to get caught up in traffic, believe me I know!! But if you get separated from your pack you have to remember that every car between you and your pack has their own race running. When there were three classes, the silver class had to deal with bronze if we had flubbed a turn. I get the feeling most of the Gold class just hasn't had much experience with this type of traffic. Patience...and run your race. We will try and do the same...

I hope my rant didn't come off as rude, just trying to give the silver perspective on something that already occurs before these changes are going into affect. No disrespect or personal attacks are intended (nor am I innocent).

Excited for the new season...I'm out this Saturday, but I'll see yall on track shortly!

There's a poll up. Please answer.

Well I thought I would add my two cents, as a new Silver driver who will very likely be starting at the front with this new format.
I feel as a Silver driver I have a responsibility of doing my best to hit my marks and run a consistent line each lap, and in doing so I'm also putting my trust in the faster, more skilled drivers, to use their skills and speed to find a SAFE place to get around me, without affecting eithers momentum.
In my short time here I have to say I have a lot of respect for all the drivers in this league, both Gold and Silver, and I've been shown a lot of patience and have been raced very clean, so Thank You to all of you!
Also I just want to say that I am hoping to improve driving skills and speed. I believe that racing around the faster drivers, helps me to make these improvements.......with the exception of @DublDee, he's kind of a dick!:P

Oh snap...you'll fit right in this group!!!

With the new season regulations on car selection and qualifying, I believe it's very much welcome!

The reverse grid layout may be a strategic advantage for some, and may be a massive change in the flavor of the races. However as a Silver driver I do feel that it's the mutual two-way respect we should give on the track. However this doesn't mean that the Silver must always give way to the Gold cars on the same lap (unless blue flag rules apply), it still has to be clean and good.

Hopefully this would have some predictable change, along with the new pit stop adjustments from the recent patch.

Fun fact from season 9:

I was adding up the total team points with no drop week from last season as opposed to top 2 drivers and a drop week. Here's how the championship would have played out.

1. W.A.R. 666pts
2. Maple Pain Train 665pts
3. Bulls & Arrows 651pts
4. Full Turtle Racing 503pts
5. Monster Apex Racing 427pts
6. Team Kinetic 395pts
7. White Knuckle Motorsports 227pts
8. DGC Sim Racing 184pts
