Gran Turismo 4 Modding Discussion

As good as the spec ll mod is, i just dont think gt4 does it for me sadly,
The game just feel a bit outdated at this point,
Wish we could have this career mode and progression for gt7.

Driving with a controller on psx2 emulator is not good, its almost undrivable at times witch sadly put me off a bit.

I felt the same with GT3 and GT4 because of the weird input lag they have on controller (even remember this from original hardware) which makes catching slides almost impossible, ended up setting the input to a Driving Force instead and you get much more responsive inputs which makes everything a lot more controllable. Set smoothing to 5% and you can put damping on low if it's too twitchy. Put the steering assist ingame on amateur and you then don't scrub the tyres much either. I agree some of the race cars don't feel that great but the road cars, especially the slower softer stuff often feels really good to drive to me.

They slower stuff can work, but its far from good in my opinion, controller just is not that great, gt7 is much easier to drive on a controller, smooth inputs just dosen’t work in psx2 on gt4,

Have not tried with a wheel, but their no way i want to set up a wheel every time i wants to play. Gt4 was never like that for me, it was basicly plug and play, witch is just not the case using psx2,

This is however not to take away from the amazing work going thats been made in this mod to improve the gt4 experince,

I just did not enjoy as much as i thought i did,
Maybe the newer gt titles has spoiled me with superior driving physics, sounds, more in depth tuning/upgrading and customize options,

Dunno if this is related, but I'm working on a super starter save for Asian (SCAJ-30007) and China (SCCS-60002) versions.

The save data includes:
-All purchasable cars ready in arcade mode
-All gold licenses
-Mission races done
-Fully ready-to-race garage (all maker events covered, some personal picks & purchase only race cars)

100% saves are also considered, depends on the reaction for starter saves.

Now all left is a double check to make sure all is ready, and figuring how to record footage.
Big thanks to Nenkai's save editor and assistance from Silentwarior1.

is it caused by a specific setting or its like this for everyone?
It's caused by something to do with the texture filtering/anisotropic filtering settings, but changing them around usually causes new issues in other places. The Hyundai wipers are small enough in gameplay to where I just keep the default and deal with it.

Thats unfortunate, thanks for the mod man.
