It was horrific with the wheel, at least in comparison for me.

i found it perfect with both pad and wheel...
the reactivity to each input was fast and responsive!

The best Pad feedback ever in a driving games. đź‘Ť

you guys are just not used to it yet...

you will love it once hooked and accustomed. PD races in real life, and made sure we all get the same chance through the game.

If GT5 is the same (if not better) than the physics in TT. I'd be happy (which i am confident they have not change much from TT) đź‘Ť

vangus: Yep but that's something entirely different, I'm pretty sure that closed GT5 event is happening today (wedensday) and the IGN coverage will be something different which happens tomorrow

Sam48: Who said anything about it being shown today?

I have to thanks SrRd RacinG for starting this one stop fully comprehensive thread. Hopefully today we'll get even more information on the game.

After looking at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SKwN_LPGgs I'm quite worried about the physics. If you look at 0:54 second mark, he gets into a small slide (like a rally car would) but looks incredibly easy to correct and straighten, but the driver loses it. Have they made the over steer ridiculously hard like in the TT demo or does this driver just really suck? I've noticed some oversteer in other vids aswell and I still haven't seen anybody correct them, not one.

Imo i think he kept left lock on a bit too long, thats why the nose slid to the left direction from the right, if he straightened earlier he would have been ok

So, this closed GT5 meeting, does that mean we will get info just no pictures? or does it mean we aren't meant to know what's said?

Will there be anyone from GTP who is going to be allowed behind those closed doors during today's meeting??

I hope the press knows exactly which questions to ask Kaz.

Not just basic questions, detail juicy ones please.

Looks right to me also. He was just way too slow in correcting.

That's what I was thinking after I replayed it 100 times. I was looking out for the G meter but you can't see it. He was also fully off the throttle when trying to catch it, then quickly jabbed it but yes it just looks like he steered too much to the left and should of straightened earlier.

I don't know guys, those look like skidmarks a fence shadow :dunce: to me. Hopefully we will get more footage of a people showing what we want to see.

Let me know if you can't see the picture, I'm still figuring out how to attach stuff.

Thats the shadow of the fence rails.

Not a problem. E3 is a LARGE event. It's fun and challenging to find all of the info. And it's easy to see what the forum has collected in a single post.

Anyways, we should be receiving much more word on the game in the following days. Interviews, interviews, interviews.

Still waiting to see some NASCAR videos and more videos with sound. So far, so good.

I think he just just su*k at playing the game, most people who played GT5 in game play vids suck at it and i don't know why, they probably used to shooter games

I don't know. The first time I played the Time Trial Demo, I sucked pretty bad too.

It took me a few tries to run a clean lap, and that was with no other cars out there.

It may be that the physics are tough.

I don't know about you mate :) but Time Trial's driving physics reminded me of GTR 2, and im a fan of GTR 2, so the Time Trial was a walk in the park for me :D my time was like 3.25 on both tuned and normal :D

The Time Trial rewarded smoothness. Also, I think anything that wasn't the immediate tarmac of the stipulated course seemed to be as grippy as greased ice with a mist of WD40 hovering just above it. I'm fairly certain this was to discourage people from wandering off the stipulated course - i.e. "cheating".

It was tough, but you got used to it fairly quickly. As I said, smoothness was the key.
Strangely, I came back to it after a couple of months playing other games / sims and my first clean lap (3rd or so overall, bloody grass...) was faster than my previous record. So, fundamentally, it can't have been "wrong".

Yeah smoothness was the key, but I think the physics were tailored, because it was extremely difficult to drift the car (Stock Z with a wheel) and I'm not sure why. Hopefully won't have that problem in the full game, and will handle more like a sports car with chuckable handling.

That vid has already been posted, I got excited for a sec. Why do they always pick a Subaru, pick something we haven't seen before arghh, if only I was there.

Not sure about GTP guys but I know that the iRacing/Simracing guys are going behind those doors.

We have lot of car's from GT4 in GT5P and they all have cockpit view!!! As example Nisan Skyline GT-R R34 SpecII Nur, Honda NSX, Mazda RX7, Ford GT, Dodge Viper GTS, Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG... So am 100% sure that ALL car's will have cockpit view!!!

SrRd... did you remove the links for live E3 coverage?? Because I thought it was still on.

Just wanting the G4TV link if anyone has it please :)

edit: nevermind got it

They are going to have great (technical) questions, that's for sure
but not sure if they are going to share them with us, they might want to keep for themselves to improve their own games...

to be honest it does seem like forever. But take a step back and look at gt. It has grown into something so huge and unlike any other game available.

Games aren't very 'bang for your buck' anymore. They lack serious content. Battlefield bad company comes to mind as well as fm3. Sure they're great games, but you know there could have been way more. But instead of taking a bit of extra time to make the game incredible, they kinda just do what works and passes the 'just enough' bar. Leaving room for another installment (another $60 game) and more dlc that you must pay for. This day in age a game like gt5 is financially a burden on sony (in the sense they could cut the game in half and sell two games) although they'll sell a massive number of just those solid games. Never again will a game be so fulfilling that the content is literally keeping people occupied for years offline alone. The day fm3 has gts content and doesn't charge for dlc for content that should've been in the game due to a short development time, hell would freeze

đź‘Ť Very good Post and very good point HappyCorey! I agree with you. There is no longer this honor of making a game for the pure satisfaction of the players without making them feel that they are being milked.

yeah, but the ability to choose it yourself like tourist throphy could be new, not a mandatory red-suit when you drive a ferrari, etc. Like in prologue.

Regarding the helmets and drivers's suits, i somehow doubt that GT5 will allow us the personalize them. It will most likely be the same was as in GT5-P.

I hope i am wrong because personalization should be standard nowadays, but I just dont want to get my hopes up for such trivial issue. This, along with Damage, Skidmarks, backup lights, 3D trees, are not going to deter my experience of driving GT5, not one bit.

Let's see what the Press will report to us, hopefully they ask ALL the right questions.

this is what eurogamer said about gt5 preview

"it's not just a racer, really: It's a noah's ark for cars, a haven that will never be touched by rust or sky-rocketing fuel prices. And although while gt5's been in development the driving genre has gone through plenty of transitions of its own, if anything, the explosive excess of contemporary titles has given yamauchi's game even more of an air of class, as it ditches the dynamite and the levelling up to rely instead on simply being comprehensive and beautiful.

Halfway through today's presentation, i think i may have realised that yamauchi is probably quietly bonkers, but it's unquestionably the good kind of bonkers. He's a heroic completist, the kind of person who builds the unlikeliest monuments, who discovers new entries on the periodic table, or who constructs fantastical rockets and lands on the moon.

The kind of person who creates elaborately detailed videogames, and eventually ships them."

gt5 = noah's ark for cars! :d

Truth or not, i like the praises Eurogamer is giving Kaz... a bit Fanboyish, but i agree with it.

nothing is confirmed yet!!

There is a full on gt5 closed doors conference today. I am sure this will be cleared up during that.

Until someone comes out and actually says the 800 don't have cockpit view then this is purely speculation as we are getting conflicting stories.

Every thread i click on is talking about the same thing.

Those are my thoughts too. I hope i am wrong. Otherwise we will only have 80% of the cars in the game without cockpit view :(

all cars will have cockpit view,

only premium cars 200 cars will have fully interior plus interior damage.

I am so confused about this subject, i hope you are right.

Let's wait and see for a few more hours.

>>>>>>> Reply 6
why is this so hard for people to comprehend???
It doesn't mean there is no cockpit view on those 800 cars, it refers to damage and detail of cars! đź’ˇ
If you want car parts to bend severely and pieces to fall off, you have to build a much more detailed car model with all the stuff underneath, and for all 1000 cars to be of that detail, it would take them a couple of years more and no one(including pd) wants to wait that long after 6 years!
There's dlc and updates for that, after the game is out!
Get it? Ok. Let's move on.:)

Nobody wants to be confused... the situation is confusing. Until someone official says it clearly, white on black or vise versa...

now i can die a happy man! :dopey:

Regarding back-up lights:
You wont be afraid of having someone rear-end you hard anymore, when they see your lights, they will steer away from you.

>>>>>>>>>> Reply 8
i also want those flying birds to poop on the cars, like they do in real life!

http://blog.vroomvroomvroom.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/bird-poop1.jpg

Now that we have rear backup lights, Now I want to add another issue:
I want the stars in the night sky to be representative of their real location based on the time and date of the year, and of course with respect to each track's location.
I want to seen the moon rise and fall (well nah... that's pushing a bit).

But the stars has to form something, (Big Bear, small Bear, Apolo, Dog, and what not)

:P

i was just wondering about these mobile structures on rome track; there are several ones.
I don't think they are night lights (that would be great on that track by the way).
I suppose they are for the car removal, even though some of them are not close to the turns...

What do you think?
Maybe they are just there for make it more real, but they will not operate.
Do you remember something similar in previous gt versions?

Cranes for video Cameras. Nothing more. but i think another member already answered that questions for you. I just want to confirm that and second him.

>>>>>>>>>>>> Reply 10
has anyone been on home yet?

yes i have, and it seems that it's representative of the real stand. Couldnt seat in the driving seat tho :P Coudn't drive the demo either... just watch the bad quality (low resolution) trailer, along with looking at some funky-dressed Home members

>>>>>>>>>>>> Reply 11
never mind a trailer, what about a demo !?

I highly doubt they will bother wasting their time release a demo... What benefit would their be? Although i would not refuse it if they indeed offer it :D

>>>>>>>>> Reply 12
i wonder if ky decided on tyre deformation.

Detail not worth paying attention to from Kaz's perspective, he is not even bulging on skidmarks... and come to think of it, it does not really matter since most racing tires/wheels combo have such small wall, it unlikely we are going notice anything.

A waste of time, let this be the preoccupations of another racing game developer.

>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reply 13
well it's much better than justin bieber... Imo xd

WHO THE HELL IS this Justin that everyone keeps on mentioning???

>>>>>>>>>> Reply 14
guys after listening to the trailer released last night many times in aw. I have realised somthing worrying. What if sebastian vetell is doing the voiceover. Imagine how anoying his voice would get saying go and finish over and over again. And through all those liecense tests.

FEAR :scared:

>>>>>>>> Reply 15
im thinking about the day/night cycle...
In the demo you see the transition happening very rapidly.. Could this be due to them trying to showcase it? Or do you think they may implement it into shorter races in the game?

In the longer endurance races obviously they will have real time but you guys/gals think that they may speed up the time?

It's not only accelerated in the trailer, it's chopped and cut, just to show us the idea...
Most likely, it will be a nice natural smooth transition effect in the full game.

Dont you worry... I am confident about that, Kaz is not going to mess up with that.
Looks like he got the idea down and even perfected it the first time around.

>>>>>>>>>>>> reply 16
great now i can't play nfs shift , how on earth do pd expect any one to play any other game after seeing such perfection :d

 đź‘Ť You are absolutely right ...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reply 17
lol eurogamer spreading fud ;0

it's clear day that all cars will have cockpit view. It's math people

consider this:

Cars from gthd
cars from gt5p
cars from gt5 demos

all have interiors (gthd had interiors too !! )

and that is about 120-140 cars . So do you think they only add 80-60 more ? Eh ?

This is plain stupid as 70 tracks/variations/etc. Bad translating = fud

also we saw as they modeled engine of few cars. And fiat 500 interior too.

If you are buying eurogamer crap then keep living delusional till release as i will drink beer and live hapy live with smile on my face till november 5-6 ;) (eu)

e3 trailer just made my day ! :

- pwned emo kids (reverse lights lol)
- dynamic day/night o.o (real 24h here i come !)
- real time deformation for premium cars , scrathes and dents for standard.
- smoke now is beautiful and reacts to light ! (volumetric ? :> )
- photo mode will be just omg
- in trailer there is some new places (hard to tell which one is from photo mode ot race mode)
- online will be just packed with features probably will be comparable with real sim games like rfactor or lfs in therm of online. Spectacting mode .......
- roll over
- ps eye head tracking !!!!!!!!!!!! Confirmed
- full 3d support. Now it's irrelevant but after 4 years you will buy one dudes and you will enjoy again gt5 ;)
- air tunel is in, just we want to know how we will use it.. Probably for customizing cars (adding wings spoilers etc to increase downforce).
- night racing is looking actualy as race on night not just race in "night themed" track where you can see everything even without headlights.
- real time moving clouds with shadows so if they rendered it rain snow etc are waaaay easier.
- waaay better ai (from videos

Pardon me but what's "FUD" ???

Air(Wind) Tunnel? I dont think that's going to be there in GT5, that's a bit over the edge. For now, i will continue to see this only as PURE Speculations, until the Man has clearly spoken about it... Not before.

i dont see the added benefit of this, except for the wow factor.

Because already, in GT5P, we have downforce adjustment allowed for certain cars, we dont need to have a Wind Tunnel for that... (unless of course for the Wow factor, just like changing oil, car wash, dent fixing? ) ....

Does anyone have confirmation that headlights can actually be toggled from the controller? I have a feeling that it may be automatic during the day/night cycle.
