Okay. I've had a LOT of pages to look up in this thread to see any newer details. I think I was way back at Page 194 from my previous comment! This is just a bunch of random notes...

Looking at that replay shows some more maturity on the AI's part. Key word- AI. Had it been a human player, he/she would probably take his/her frustrations out on other cars, trying to push like Anthony Davidson at Le Mans 2010.

You can barely see anything from the cockpit view as it gets dark. It's actually a good thing because you can barely see anything on a proper racing course in the dark. Do you see everything perfectly at night at Le Mans or Petit Le Mans? No and no. That video is actually one of the best quality images of a day-to-night cycle I've seen so far for this game. Someone on... YouTube talked about the lights being of no help. Well, you don't have lots of Musco light towers to illuminate the track like you would at Losail or someplace in rally racing. I'd like to imagine this for rally racing in GT5: a rally course through a forest in Europe. Maybe something that should be considered would be the use of lightpods to enhance your night vision in a rally car.
* I completely missed the G4 TV demonstration of Gran Turismo 5. But according to the reactions of many people, I get the impression that it was failtastic on a number of levels. I'm guessing the game is being played like Forza is more supreme than GT will ever be. Then too, us racing gamers feel like a minute (minute as in "small") subculture compared to the many first-person shooter fans. As far as Indianapolis is concerned, it's actually one of my favorite ovals, so I can't hate on that notion.
* Now the NASCAR thing... I'm seeing a video stream on G4TV. Really, I don't think it's that bad. It's not the roar of a stock car as I recall in "NASCAR 07," but it could have been much worse.
I'm disappointed that Gamespot gave THIS description for Gran Turismo 5 (look at the underlined part):
Gran Turismo 5
SCEA
GT/Street Racing
Release: Nov 2, 2010
I'll need to watch more video footage of what most people were ranting about in Gran Turismo 5 demonstrations. It was REALLY tough trying to keep up with all the updates and posts here! I'm pretty impressed with GT5 from what I've seen on TV and online. As for that "70's porno music," that song was AWESOME! LOVED it!
