This really does sum up GT5, PD and KY in one picture.

yeah, Actually, I would expect cars like the Ferraris and Maseratis to be Standard cars due to licensing issues. ('cause Ferrari doesn't like their cars to get all mangled. Just look at the official Ferrari racing game that has the "most damage allowed by Ferrari ever")

Something interesting but I remember old videos from Gamescom which had a Ferrari driving round the track.

Now this Ferrari had a cockpit, but it could only take basic damage (paint scratches) and was very obviously not a premium car that would feature full deformation/crumpling from crashes.

It seems at least that judging by that all cars will have cockpits, but who knows?

I have a feeling that this 200 cars that are premium will be Rally/NASCAR/SuperGT cars etc, just the proper racing ones.

I think GT6 and GT7 will be quite quick, then GT8 might be the second game on PS4 and then for PS5 GT9 will be completely broken down and recreated much like GT5

Yes. I've been thinking about that a lot during E3. Seems plausible. KY just remarked that he wonders about PS4's capability to do much more than the PS3.

Yeah, Just wait until PD get their hands on a PS4, they'll go nuts. The human brain can't even begin to imagine what GT6 on PS4 would even look like.

It's difficult to say if it'll be on the PS3.

I can make a smart case for it: Sony plans to keep the cycle alive for ten years; that's 2016 for the PS3 (in which Sony still caters to the console). So, PS4 could be out but they'll still be making PS3 titles. Might we see PS4/PS3 GT6?

"Your" question was asked and answered by others.

link please. :P

Because GT5 has filled up an entire Blu-ray, I expect GT6 to either be on a dual layer Blu-ray (which is available now, thanks to Avatar), or on PS4...But PS4 is still a good ten years off (Sony's looking to start developing stuff for the HVD or whatever it's called around 2019-2020.) So...And if one were to look back to the launch of the system, Sony mentioned they had developed single layer 25GB, dual layer 50GB, quad layer 100GB and six-layer 200GB discs and we're just started to use the 50GB discs. So, there's still a lot of room on those Blu-ray discs yet.

By the way, the Holographic Discs the PS4 is supposed to use: 1-4TB. Yes, Terabite discs. 1 Holographic disc could hold 40 single layer blue-ray discs and 5 six-layer BDRs. Just imagine how big the first or second GT on one of those baby's will be. :P 1 million cars? 1000 tracks? who knows.

Why do people always demand a link for their questions... whatever happened to looking for yourself?

KY's comment about surpassing PS3's abilities and needing a PS4 are exactly the kind of over-inflated egotistics we don't need. If every car was Premium, I'd have an easier time swallowing that one.

Every car might end up being premium eventually, but not at the beginning and not unless they can get special damage licenses from the "we don't like damage" people

so, if we were to drive around the TG Track like Jay Kay, you think a tire will fall off and go bounding away....or, maybe, if we had an SUV or REALLY sucked we could go driving off into the field beyond.

IMO PS4 will be the true HD console. Meaning that resolution will not limit what devs will put in the game.

Imagine a PS4 with a 12 core cell, SLI graphics, 10gb+ DDR3 1600 ram, solid state hard drive, BR player, USB3.0 and wireless HDMI. Then imagine GT6 running on it. That will be the day.

Egotistical you say? I call it vision, this is why we have advancement in technology. Keep yourself in your box, everyone else who isn't complacent with things as they are will go beyond and enjoy what advancements can be achieved. I believe that KY mentioned that the detail that went into the Premium cars was so much that it could be for the next generation system. Reaching the point of diminishing returns, about damn time too. So they can concentrate on adding everything else that makes driving and racing so endearing. Hope they can add some kind of weather to the 24 hour race.

If that's indeed how he meant it, that's fine; I can't see a reasonable demand for improved graphic fidelity with this. Now it's about quantity; with a next-gen system we can have more of these highly-detailed cars on track at once. Weather won't destroy a frame rate as badly. So yeah, in that sense, it's fine.

Don't throw the box comment out there though; my issue is with the very strange priorities PD has. Photo Mode now has the ability to walk... which isn't an advancement at all, and better be an option, because I'd rather stick to the original method of placing the camera wherever I want. It's faster. I also don't see a use in "sounds and historical info" for Photo Mode locations either, unless you're planning on leaving the screen as a kind of screensaver for your TV. Instead of focusing on creating the Real Walking Simulator, some more work could've been put into upping the Premium count.

500+ years to make 1 million cars and 1000 tracks lol.

We already know that PS4 is going use the fairly knew Holographic Versatile Disc. (HVD)

I remember someone saying that HVD players cost upwords of 15,000 US, that was years ago though. I want the Ps4 to use some of the newest tech, but not to the point that Sony lose several hundred on their console at launch languishing in last place.

If the ps4 is unveiled at least 4 to 5 years from now maybe the HVD drive will be cheap enough to use commercially. 👍

Sony doesn't plan on releasing their 1TB HVD until 2019. So...yeah, it'll be a while...which should give them time to develop an awesome way of maximizing it's performance for a video game system. PS4 won't be just True HD, but true 3D, as well.
